Having just flown 33 hours and with a layover at San Francisco Airport I had sciatic pain down my leg and across my lower my back and was in terrible shape. I was given an appointment within 2 hours of my call with a true healer Vicky. I showed her what was going on and she poured so much love and energy into healing my body, doing everything possible to help me make it on two more plane flights home. I was so moved by her investment in helping me. She was an expert and gave her 100 percent. The receptionist also did everything she could to get me a quick appointment and this was at 7pm. They are open until 9:30pm which unheard of where I live in rural MS. As someone who teaches customer service they get a ten out of ten and an A plus and as a person with post polio who has had many massages I am qualified to say Vicky is really a superior massage therapist, but even more than that, a true healer. They are close to the airport so uber over if you flight destroys your back like mine did and ask for Vicky. read more

My boyfriend brought me here for Valentine's Day and we had a great experience in the private hot tub they offer and the couples massage we received. I decided to get my eyelashes done here after finding a Groupon and they far exceeded my expectations, the woman, Jenny, did a wonderful job! I forgot to leave a tip because I had used the Groupon and in general, don't carry cash on me, later in the day they called me and asked me to tip her next time and basically made it seem like I had a bad experience because I didn't leave a tip. I think this is very unprofessional and irritating, personally I always try to leave a tip but truly just forgot; a tip is not a requirement and you should not ask someone to leave one, and not everyone can necessarily afford to tip after a $100-$200 service. Get it through your skulls. It's fucking ridiculous and greedy. I worked in a coffee shop for 3 years and you get what you get, you don't ask people to tip you because you think you deserve it. I have been going here for years and always had a great experience...until yesterday. Last time I was there they told me I still had four foot massages on my package. So I made appointments for my friend and I. When we got there they said they had tried to call me as they were running late But the number they had was wrong. I tried to check my number with them but they just changed the subject. Then they said no foot massages were on my account despite what they said the time before. Running late is fine, this happens. Thirty minutes later we started our foot massage. My therapist was fine but sub par with respect to the other people I've had. Upon checkout my friend paid for the tip on both therapists. The receptionist said, "Look at our guidelines for tips. You're quite low." A $10 tip for a $35 foot massage is low???!! I indicated I felt their tipping guidelines were reasonable for a 60 minute full body massage but not for a foot massage. She argued that "an hour is still an hour". Well since people only talked about the massage and facials I figured I'd throw my two cents in lol I found this place through spa finder since I had been givin a gift card and was new to the area. When I called to get a price quote I called for eyelash extension fill . The site showed they did this service and the manager quoted me no problem . Where it starts going downhill is I called to confirm my appointment and I got told three different times that we're incorrect even though they had my name and they finally got it figured out However still not the time I had originally made but close enough . I got to the spa couple min early and the front desk seemed thrown off to have me said normally they don't do any fills only full touch up or sets both the same price .. but that since I had made my apt they would see me this one time for fill.. ok.. then it seems the lady who was doing my lashes was running pretty behind I waited 30 min past my apt time before she finally came into the room and I was even there early I honestly almost left . She was however very nice . Only downside she pretty much did a touch up ok but it took 2 1/2 hrs I missed other apt I had that day because of this and she used soo much glue that when I found someone else to continue my fills she had to really clean to get the excess glue off that were damaging my real lashes and fixed a lot of the lashes . I've been a patron of Water Lounge Spa since 2017 (both the San Mateo and Millbrae locations). My last massage was at the Millbrae location back on March 8, 2020 as I had not been back since Covid ... well, until yesterday. At that March 2020 visit, I prepaid for another message which was booked for April 2020, but due to the area being in "lock down" at that time, I never received the massage. I haven't ventured out much for personal care services since covid hit. But, I was in desperate need of a massage so I thought I'd give the Water Lounge a shot as I've always had a great experience. The manager honored my previously booked/paid massage and I had an AMAZING (albeit sometimes painful, but in a good way) massage with Michael yesterday. The facility was clean, there was hand sanitizer everywhere and the entire staff, including the therapist was wearing a mask. I felt safe in the environment, which has been part of my hesitation in seeking out personal care treatments. It was very quiet and peaceful and I received wonderful service all around. I'm happy to know they were able to survive the temporary closure that so many other small businesses weren't. I bought 2 vouchers on groupon for hour massages. Called in 1 day in advance for an appointment. The day of appointment front desk called to confirm time and location. Got there 15 minutes before appointment time. The place looked exactly the same as "a perfect day spa". White Samsung tv was gone though. They made a little sitting area on the right hand side. On right wall, there were certificates of their massage therapist licenses. 3 were sketchy since they were photocopies. Left hand wall, was the same beverage area. Front desk wall had their new brand "water lounge spa" in blue. There was a green paper that said they aren't affiliated with "a perfect day spa" but previous members can get discount rates for $45 massages for 3 months. Didn't say from when till when though. Checked in. They asked for payment and I presented the groupon vouchers. Scanned and accepted no problem. Was then directed to massage room. Said we could leave underwear on if you don't feel comfortable removing. Furniture in room was just rearranged differently. Stripped and hopped on massage table. Was a couples massage so a male and female therapist came in. Little bit of language barrier. The dude only spoke mandarin but the lady was able to speak Cantonese which helped. Massage was good. I asked for hard pressure for both of us. The lady over used massage oil on me and had to go get a hot towel to wipe me off when she was done. Overall experience was good. Stories you hear about them chasing you for tip is true. The therapist expects you to tip. There's a tipping chart at the front desk. We gave $11 tip each therapist. I went for another European facial yesterday and was seen by Ella this time. It seems like all the estheticians have different techniques but I always leave happy with the result! You can't go wrong with whichever esthetician you end up with. The facial was so relaxing and my skin feels so much better. Overall this was a great experience . We started with 30min in the hot tub room. Everything was pretty clean but I did see a hair in the hot tub (I am bald. I just cut my hair) so I was a little curious as to where that came from if they cleaned it properly. The shower/ sauna was amazing! Then we got the 30min upper body/ 30min foot massage. The advertising online versus what they are saying at the actual location is false advertising. Their customer service was terrible, the check in receptionist didn't even want to check for the appointment, she just wanted to charge us already. I called a week prior to check if everything was accurate, which I was told over the phone; the package that I had purchase was accurate it was for two people a facial and a massage. The receptionist was telling us that it was for 1 person only and that if we wanted it a facial it was at 5pm although she kept saying they had no facial with billboards in their establishment advertising facials. They need to be very clear on their services and how they run their establishment. Very unprofessional. Their wasn't even an accommodation option. Zero stars. Worst place EVER. The "massage" was more so of a squeeze. Most all foot massages include a full back massage, nothing here. Worst waste of money ever spent. Our "massage therapists" were rude and unprofessional. One was late, the other threw my legs so hard on to the cushion that it disturbed those around me, and the other was just not pleasant. Complete BS experience. I wish I could give a better rating because the guy who massaged me I'm sure was doing good work but I couldn't tell because of my 90 min appointment I only got to enjoy the first 30 minutes before the DJ to the dance party they offer was testing his equipment out LOUDLY and playing terrible conflicting music to the relaxation music playing in my room. And the sound of that while I'm trying to relax into a massage was a huge disappointment and frankly I left there feeling more stressed out then how I had arrived. My appointment was booked for 8pm but they didn't seem to have any rooms ready for us so by the time we were undressed in the beds it was 8:15. Granted our session was honored and didn't end until 9:45, so I'm grateful for that at least. I will say the receptionist did tell me there would be a dance party afterwards but I guess I had assumed she was joking considering it was a spa but setting that aside, is it too much to ask that they save the dance party until truly after all the massage appointments are complete? Or maybe don't book any massages that will overlap into the dance party. None the less I tried hard to tune it out and settle into the massage and all I could think of is how I paid for relaxation and received noise and distraction. All this makes my other complaints seem meaningless but if you're curious my appointment was booked as a double date couples massages, so my boyfriend and I were in one room and our couple friends in another. Their complaints were the cleanliness and the tired workers we all heard a bit of yawning. It made me feel sad for them and guilty for complaining. Honestly though I don't make negative reviews out of guilt on how it can negatively effect others. So he went back to massaging my feet, then I tried to half asleep again to relax but instead he just did Nothing but just rubbing or just like purring his hand on my feet without pressure. I was just feeling and observing on How he giving me a Massage, then he started standing up and seating on the Middle chair, started touching, rubbing in between my genitals, and then groping my penis again, I said with a stop hand signal, my main objective US to get a Good and quality Massage Service, and not sexually harassed by an old pervent chinese old man in a Massage spa parlor place. I never had an experienced that I never expected to Go to a Massage spa and sexually touched! It was the worst and terrible experience that happened to me. After the Massage he sent be to the dry sauna thrn while I was inside the lady receptionist came in and brought me some crackers and water, and thats why I told her that I came back to their place because of their Good and quality Service and at the same time I was really looking forward to get my tired and aching body a Great Massage.
