There is a space for infant, toddlers, and preschoolers with a rubbery ground, bridge, dome, and playhouse. Nearby is a play area with spinners, rotating climbers, see-saw, swings, and musical instruments. Furthermore to the side is a larger space for children aged 5 and beyond. There are climbing apparatus, slides of varying lengths and heights, ropes, and a scavenger hunt game that encourages children to seek out the various animals, insects, and foot tracks painted throughout the playground. On the other side of the playground is a baseball field and several tennis courts. We were visiting from out of town but otherwise, we could've easily spent two hours here so that our girls could spend time in the playground and the tennis courts.

Every time I come here with my toddler he cries and yells at me every time we have to leave. It is the playground equivalent of a womb, I suppose. The real Miracle, though, is what it does to his digestive system. I don't know how this works, but every. single. time. we're here he goes #2 and needs a new diaper. I know that's not where you were expecting this review to go, but parents: if you're little one is maybe Not as Productive as he/she/they should be, then this is the spot (apparently). Oh and it's also a really beautiful playground! The music play equipment is sounds wonderful. The big multi-level play area is awesome. We have tons of fun here every time. Also: DID YOU KNOW there is a "secret" playground just around the bushes? This was a bizarre discovery, especially since that other playground is a little wild and kinda unfinished and maybe a bit dangerous but It's Also OK because with supervision you can have a lot of fun over there, too.

It has a really big rock wall, several spinning things that the kids hang on to and spin around. It also has a couple spinning seats where the kids sit and spin around. The older kid play area is pretty large and is capable of keeping kids entertained for a while. The park also has a double basketball court with two sets of hoops. It has a covered shelter area for picnics and parties, a wide open grass area, and bike and walking trails throughout.

The park is big enough that you can either walk the paths in the park or take the paths through the park and through the community. The park itself has two backstops for baseball or softball. One of the backstops has an infield that goes along with it. There are some open grass areas for sports practices too. The park has a playground area for kids and swings. It has a picnic shelter area too. For sports other then the fields and backstops the park also has a basketball court with four adjustable hoops. Along with the hoops the park also has a place to play horse shoes. The horse shoe area has three different horse shoe pits and also has special lighting.

It's a bit off the beaten path but once you find the parking lot you're home free. The park has a lovely little bridge over a creek leading you from the parking lot to a path that circles the area. A nice dual playground is available for the chilluns and is big enough that little and big kiddos have heir space. Other entertainment options here include a basketball court, a tennis court, a big field to run around in or play catch in and a lovely picnic area. I have no idea how long the path circling the area is, but a couple folks that were running seem to come around about every 10 minutes or so. Seems like it was probably a good size on which to take a walk,especially if you have a stroller and some kiddos. Not too long, but long enough that everybody get some exercise. For anybody who's in the area, or passing through and just needs to get out and run around, this park is a great place to come spend an hour and let the kids have a bunch of different ages run around and burn off some energy. There is also plenty of places for adults to hang out, making for a very pleasant afternoon. Well worth checking out!

As a fitness professional, I have high expectations for gyms and I like this one! They have a large…read morelap swim pool/diving area, leisure pool, therapy pool, basketball courts, racquetball courts, 2 group fit rooms, and childcare area downstairs. Upstairs, they have a lot of cardio machines, racks, weight machines, free weights, a cycle studio, and room to stretch. They offer many group fitness classes which I hope to try soon. I've heard great things about their childcare and how nice it is for families. The facility is kept clean and everyone is friendly. It's not quite as fancy as some gyms, but it gets the job done and isn't too expensive. Definitely the gym to join in Ankeny.
