Many moons ago I was here at Tramore racecourse and watched a mare called Annanod (Annie to her friends) win a few races. She's still going well into her retirement, at the fine old age of 32. Tramore & Waterford racecourse remains almost the same. The familiar field carpark. The old stands. And the parade ring is still charmingly small. The weigh room looks the same, but a another small stand between the parade ring and the horses yard is gone. There are a few additions too, notably the kids area. It looked like mighty fun, even if it was raining. Wish that was here when I was a child. That said my memories of T&W RC remain happy ones. Nothing beat a warm sunny day at the August festival here.
