Bacon, Kumara and avocado stack! GF and it won't disappoint. Best meal I have had in NZ!

I ordered the gluten free bacon, Kumara and avocado stack (accident it was GF) and it is to die for. I did fried egg rather than poach and no hollandaise. We've eaten breakfast out everyday on our trip and this is hands down our best meal! My BF ordered the banana, bacon French toast and it literally melts in your mouth. He added peanut butter and it was delicious! The service was quick and she didn't mind at all that I made substitutions. I can't say enough how this was our favorite meal and with only 2 mornings in Blenheim we will eat here again tomorrow for sure!

I love this place. Full marks for food quality, presentation, and excellent customer service. We ordered at the counter, then sat down to wait for our orders. I went to the water station and found they have normal tap water and a lemon mint infusion in case you wanted something more refreshing. Once the food came, we were blown away. Bacon, Kumara, and Avocado stack: delicious! I love the hint of mint in the kumara hash, or really makes the dish. Next time, I think I'd order it with an extra poached egg (comes with one, I would have liked two). Watery Mouth French Toast: drool... Soft French toast with crispy edges, grilled bananas, topped with bacon equals a fantastic sweet and savory combination for the taste buds. Overall, I love this place and wish there was a place like this near my hometown! Keep up the good work!

I downloaded a very humble Meat Pie rating app while in NZ, targeted algorithm and all, and it led…read moreme here. It certainly didn't steer me wrong because the pies here were simply next level! When we walked in at 9AM, the board initially seemed barren with sold out magnetics affixed next to many a selection, but fresh pies just came out of the oven -- just our luck! We had the Steak & Goat Cheese and Lamb Pies at $9 each, though they are known for their Pork Belly/ Char Siu pie. Not only were the pies "burly" with filling, but the pastry was stupendous. Theirs contained a puff pastry head on top and for extra layering and sustenance! Plus, there was an obvious crust that didn't crumble excessively. The pies had all the best elements. It's pretty much a grab-and-go spot though there are picnic benches outside. The parking lot signs say a 10 minute (or something to that effect), though we did stay past that to eat our pies. There were plenty of people parking on the street just outside. Regardless, it's a MUST stop! It does make for the perfect pre-road trip snack, so even more reason!

The roast beef roll with horseradish and pickled onion was also worth a mention. Even though it was very busy, the staff were friendly and took the time to talk to us - we are so glad we stopped here for lunch!!

If you couldn't tell by the name, it's Dutch influenced. We dropped in on a Wednesday (around 11:45am) and there was a lot of people coming and going. There's a few tables to sit at outside but that's it. Service was friendly and patient. A variety to choose from including hot pies, scones, quiches, sandwiches, pastries, buns and breads. Their award winning carrot cake ($5.50 NZD small) looked good. The drink menu is small and off to the side. - Flat white ($4.00 NZD large) - pretty mediocre but expected given you're not getting this made at a coffee shop. - Moroccan lamb ($4.90 NZD) - this is one of their "out of the ordinary" pies. Moroccan lamb sounded good but the sauce and seasoning didn't combine well with the lamb. However, the crust was excellent. - Sausage roll ($2.00 NZD) - the sausage itself was a bit too salty but the pastry was flaky and had a good texture. - Roast beef, relish & cheese ($6.90 NZD) - came with lettuce, roast beef, cheese, tomato, red onion and tomato relish. The kaiser bun it came on was fresh and had a great chewy bite. The roast beef slices could have been fresher but the tomato relish was pleasant. - Cherry almond tart ($4.80 NZD) - filled with sweet dark cherries and sweet ground almond filling. This one is one of their award winning pastries. This was good. I really liked the fruit on top. Solid bakery to grab a few things to snack on. Really close to the pier so a perfect stop before you head off.

It was 2:45pm and my husband walked in with his parents and nephews. He came back with some cold pizzas, one lukewarm pizza, and a brownie. I asked where was the coffee and he said the lady said, "No" when he asked. He shared the lady was rude and rushed. I was confused! They didn't close until 3:30pm, so what what was the issue!? I walk in and see the same lady being extremely polite to the customers who arrived after 3:00pm. She served them coffees, heated their pies and pizzas. It was very sad because my husband and his family are Indian. The other customers were not, so it makes you wonder if that was the reason this experience was horrible. I really wish our niece and nephew didn't experience this! And I highly recommend they learn how to be BETTER to ALL of their customers. Last thing, my husband speaks English so there was NO miscommunication.
