My mother had an investment account with Tombo Watts. When she passed away, my brother and I split the inheritance and both decided to move our money elsewhere. I live out of state and preferred to have my money with someone I had worked with for many years. Getting my mother's money out of the hands of this man was nearly impossible. I will not go into detail on how much phone calling and going to their office I had to do to try to get my money out of these accounts. I will tell about a specific annuity that I was trying to withdraw from. The assistant at this office said that she had called on 2 or 3 different occasions in order to get the paperwork to complete the transaction. I needed this money to purchase an apartment so I called the annuity firm myself even though I was told by Tombo Watts office that they had to deal directly with the company. The woman on the phone indicated that yes, the office of Tombo Watts did call about that account at least twice and that yes, twice they had sent to Tombo Watts the appropriate paperwork. She then put me on hold while she called the office directly to inquire Tombo Watts or his staff needed assistance with the paperwork since they had sent it twice and it had not been filed yet. I did not listen in on the phone call, but when the woman at the annuity got back on the line with me she indicated that she had been spoken to very rudely and she totally understood why I had contacted the annuity directly since I was getting no response from Tombo Watts.
My money was essentially held hostage by Tombo Watts. My aunt holds an investment account with Edward Jones in another town and she was calling and speaking to her representative to ask if what I was being told was actually true.
