It's always nice to know where the "good" pizza joints are, and I'm happy to add Two Rivers Waverly Inn to my list. Waverly Inn Pub & Pizzeria is in a 130-year-old cream city brick building on 16th St overlooking Lake Michigan. According to its website, the pizzeria is known for "the best thin crust pizza on the shores of Lake Michigan." So true! We enjoyed The Works 20" with their Waverly Sauce for 4 of us. Had extra to take home for leftovers. Plenty of N/A options for me, which I like to see. We went on a Friday so place was busy & service aligned with the crowd size. Cool place, great views of Lake Michigan and watching the boats & Fishermen going out or coming in, & very good thin crust pizza Get the Waverly Sauce! Enjoy! Went here to get a smelt plate and a fish fry! Betty was our waitress. She was awesome; took great care of us and was patient when we weren't totally had our minds made up. The fish plate and fish sandwich were very good. They were out of smelt. Darn! Next time. I was amazed at the number of pizzas coming out of the kitchen, all sizes and a few were really big! This review is for the Friday fish fry. They have your choice of cod, perch, or smelt. I chose cod. The fish was good. The fish is lightly battered and has a crispy coating. The meal came with coleslaw which is better than your average coleslaw. And French fries which are pretty average. I would be back foe fish again. When I saw the yelp reviews I assumed the menus were old (some were) because the prices seemed much lower than average but they are a crazy good bargain! $3 hamburgers on Wednesdays and other specials as well. Regular prices also low and great beer choices under $5 for a proper pint !! Besides the value, the quality was damn good. Old part of the bar is cool. Tried this place on a Tuesday for lunch with my husband. We walked into a large, open dining area with ample seating. We chose a table, and our server was by a short time later. The menu has many different options consisting of appetizers, sandwiches, sides, soup, salad, and pizza galore. I was leaning towards a burger and noticed that on Tuesdays, the burgers were on special for $4.50, so bonus there! No sides are included with the burgers/sandwiches, so I ordered a small side of waffle fries. My burger was large and cooked perfectly. The fries were crispy and delicious. The atmosphere has a sports bar vibe, with several large TV's, automated bar games, pool table and a large bar. Overall the experience was good, and we will be back to try more menu items! read more

Not a very kid friendly restaurant so if you have littles might want to go somewhere else. They didn't have booster seats. No changing table in the bathroom. The floors in the bathroom were really sticky as well. The sweet potato fries were very delicious. The burger lacked flavor. The server checked in with us enough. Video poker right next to our table so my husband liked that. I noted they had a pool table so that would be fun if your kids are little older. All in all it was an OK experience. read more

Came to this restaurant based on a recommendation by my brother-in-law who had not been there in several years. I was completely taken back by the lack of safety protocols by the restaurant staff during these trying covid 19 times. In particular, there appeared to be no adherence to the Statewide mask order by either the customers or the wait staff. Our waitress waited on us with no mask and no gloves. Same for the other waitresses/bartenders in this establishment. Most of the customers were coming in the establishment without masks and were moving about the restaurant next to tables without masks. It was also not clear that the tables, condiments on the table and menus were being sanitized either. Non conformance to the virus safety rules is unacceptable during these times and is clearly in violation of the Governors order. For a 60 something year old person like myself I have gone out of my way to keep myself safe while striving to keep some level of patronage going for these struggling businesses. This experience has raised a few concerns on my part where I will be more cautious going to a new business that I have not frequented before. It was unfortunate that I had not read the most recent Yelp reviews where I would have noted another Yelper calling out the lack of safety protocols. lIf the Covid 19 safety standards are of prime importance to you than this is an establishment that should be avoided where I personally will not be returning anytime soon. read more

Wicked Great WINGS juicy crunchy saucy .40 cents on Thursday with drink or side. Seriously can't remember better wings even from Buffalo NY really. Love this place! We had a burger that was tasty. The fried cheese curds were stretchy and hot. Had the fried smelt plate that was awesome. If you haven't eaten smelt before, they can be fishy but they're crunchy and French fried goodness. Nice staff and the location was across from our hotel. Beer selection was good too! I came in on a Tuesday evening and their special was a 1/2 lb burger for $4.50. The service was terrible, I waited for everything, even the check. I ordered beer, chili and the burger. The beer was fine and the chili tasted ok but was lukewarm. My server disappeared and I was unable to get it warmed up. The burger comes with nothing and anything you add is 50 cents each and only ketchup is included. The burger was ok, I added lettuce and tomato. This is a place for locals and I live 70 miles away. Outdoor seating is a joke. You don't get service if you want to sit outside and the vents from the kitchen blow their smoke right on you.

Some folks there are nice, some are rude. Food is generally good. Just don't care for how they run their business anymore.

Visiting from Milwaukee and my son and I walked over to get a pizza. Other reviews concerned me, with a lot of complaints about service. It's an updated small town bar/restaurant with small town clientele. Every once in awhile you'd see people come in and others would be excited to see them. So a different and better feel than you'd get from going out to eat in a bigger city. Waitress was nothing short of perfect. Knew exactly when to check on us, ask if we wanted refills, and so on. I didn't see anyone else waiting around like some other reviews said. Pizza crust was a little tough, so much so that it wasn't cut all the way through. Toppings and cheese were well above average, though the sausage wasn't as good as it probably should be. It's the best dining experience I've had in the area so far. Will be bringing my wife on my next visit to see what she thinks. read more

Well, the service is awful, but the food is wonderful! I didn't mind to wait for anything, I understand short staffing g, and this is not a complaint about that. Rather, it is about how rude the waitress was. She had no "hello" or greeting of any kind. She slammed drinks on the table, slid plates over, as if it were a diner and we were down the counter. Very fun place. It was crowded when we arrived and everyone seemed to be having a good time. Feels like a towny bar where you're always welcome. Big menu, excellent food, long beer list, and great service from super-friendly staff and management. We had the jumbo pretzel (awesome beer cheese), potstickers, grilled cheese (pretty much perfect), and sausage/pepperoni pizza. Great pizza - thin, crispy crust, smothered in toppings. We didn't have the famous Waverly pizza sauce because little kids were in the group, and the staff told us the sweet pizza sauce was considered more kid friendly. Very bad service. Shouldn't have to wait 10 minutes to order drinks and there 4;people working. Took another 16 to 20 minutes to get a refill. And about an hour to order food I'll go some place else to eat. Don't want to be someplace that service stinks. read more

I just had their pizza tonight and it was delicious! Payed like $12.50 for a 12" pizza with sausage, onions and garlic. Probably the best pizza in and around the area! They also have Hamm's beer on tap and Old Style in bottle! It is a great place to hangout and the staff are really nice! Will be going here on a regular basis and I highly recommend! Cheap food - cheap drinks - lots of entertainment! I started going to The Waverly back before it's reconstruction. It was still a great bar, but it was a little squished, very dark and just seemed a little claustrophobic. During the reconstruction: it really came into its own. The dining area is open up to the bar now, there are a lot more lights, and the atmosphere really seems changed. In a good way!! The bar-staff is always kind, the food is always great and there is always a great night full of memories to be made.
