Since many people stop at Dade Corners on their way to the Everglades for fishing, gigging, or whatever, a sidearm is not out of line. It is against the law to just vicariously shoot gators, but if one is climbing into your boat and fixing to latch on to your ankle, a little self defense is appropriate. Sometimes, you can't wait or have no time in which case this corner location comes in handy. Even if you just pump a little until you fill up somewhere with a better price, it beats running out gas. You can pay at the pump and it's always well lit even in the later hours which is comforting. There's plenty of stores and restaurants in this plaza so filling up prior or after your stop at Walgreens, Milam's or other restaurants before heading off is a great idea if you're low on fuel. It's not good to push your gas to the verge that it's running on fumes which is why paying the extra price sometimes validates itself.
