There are so many items you can get here. I would say that at any time of the day there are always a decent amount of people so I'd allocate ~10 minutes to waiting for your food (if you're getting it from the front), but there's a wide selection. I'd suggest either the tenders with honey mustard sauce, tuna salad sandwich, quesadilla, or a hot hoagie. Also, water is free from the soda machines! read more

Their drinks that you order from the kiosk machine are usually good. The food is so so. I like the seasonal turkey gobbler. It's convenient for snacks. There's only street parking which is very limited being that it's nexts to UofP and you have to pay for parking. There's a lot of homeless people and peoples who get dosed at the clinic that hang out in front of and/or in it wawa. I've had some of my homeless patients admit that if they can't find anything else to eat they'll snatch a doughnut out of the case. I ordered 6 items last night on ubereats for my mother who lives 23 miles from me. Of the 6 items I ordered for her the chef's salad was incorrect. She had a garden salad delivered which cost less than the chef's salad. At no time was I notified that this item was not in stock. A substitution should not have been made for a lesser item. I go here... a lot! I really can't beat Wawa! Coming from the Midwest, all I knew before was 7-11... but Wawa takes the cake. You can get made-to-order delicious subs, cold soft drinks, and even make your own verion of a DQ Blizzard right here in Wawa. I usually hit up the breakfast specials, which consist of a bagels or croissant sandwich, hashbrowns, coffees, etc... its constantly changing but always yummy (lets just say there's no calories in this meal?)! Oh - How could I forget to mention - the coffee bar! They have about 8 different kinds of always-freshly-brewed coffee... and plenty of sweeteners, flavors, and milk-ish products to add into the mix. service is horrible, I ordered some food items after being in the hospital all day waiting for my mother to get out of surgery. I put in a request for a special order and the staff member never called my order and made the order when I asked was she making it she put on a face and got an attitude and told me the items we're already made. Long story short the guest come first you never know what they may be going through at that moment and you should always see what you can do to meet their request specially if it was requested! read more

This Wawa has made the necessary changes to be highly recommended. New night manager has everything stocked and ready by 5 am it's convenient and quick to grab fresh hot coffee, fresh baked croissants, healthy snacks to last the day and plenty of options for hydration, really important today high heat and humidity! The day team Under Williams direction is able to focus on PO light prompt customer service instead of making up for the night shift not getting the store stocked. The store is clean very busy has great music and is a pleasure to visit currently! Items are back in stock and available so now I support the company doing Welcome America and giving back to the city. I will join them at the constitution center. The lines are always extremely long and the customer service here has never been great, but at least I was able to get tasty food. This most recent visit, I tried the mac and cheese and a small hoagie, but I was extremely disappointed. The sandwich was thrown together, the mac and cheese was completely flavorless with a dollop of ranch dressing not even mixed in, and the 5 nuggets of chicken they give you don't taste like much either. Also the new salad bowls are pretty much more expensive versions of a gas station salad. I added bacon and they added only 4 tiny crumbled bits. Lettuce doesn't taste the freshest. read more

Ok this Wawa is terrific man. It has anything you need when you running around university City Philly! I mean we got sandwiches, quesadillas, coffee, all kinds of junk food man. They even got the salads and greek yogurt for the healthy type people yo. This is the gandpooba of the Wawa's. Not many in UCity or Center City. But this was one has a lot of employees working all the time. Lines move quick. No matter what time there will always be a dozen or 2 customers in this joint. It does mad business, I'm tellin you son. Get that 10 inch bbq chicken cheesesteak with bbq chips and orange soda, forget it man its bananas. Trust me I won't steer you wrong. I have to say, I saw this before the renovation, and I still like the new one but not as much as the old layout. I remember subsisting on the chicken sandwiches here for a week when the food carts were mysteriously absent from campus for a bit in one summer. And the 24-7 store also was my favorite place to pick up some Wawa Peach or Green Iced Tea in the half-gallon size. You have touch-screens now to make your food. Oh, the hot dogs - only so-so. The make-your-own slushie, very good. The fruit salad and breakfast foods never really appealed to me, but the pretzels were cheap in the morning. A place to grab a quick bite to eat. There are two times that I go to Wawa - lunchtimes, and "I need a sandwich for all these beers I already drank" times. For lunch times, Wawa at 38th and Spruce gets a solid 4 stars. Quick service, they never mess up orders, and you can get outta there in less than 10 minutes. Awesome. If it's after last call though... abandon all hope, ye who enter here. Seriously. I dunno who manages the shifts here, but they've got to get more people working after last call. You're on a college campus. Big bucks are to be made selling jerks like me sandwiches and munchies at 2:30 AM. Multiple times, I've come in here, alone or with friends, and had to wait at least 30 minutes for even one of us to get something as simple as chicken strips over mac and cheese. Even if you want to just grab something pre-made (and you don't, at 2 in the morning, when everything pre-made is now almost a day old), you'll be waiting in line to check out for at least 10 minutes because of all the people complaining about how long their food is taking. I love Wawa so much, that I keep forgetting that "hey, let's get some god damn Wawa" after 2 AM is ALWAYS a bad idea, and I keep making the same mistake. For that, I give it two stars. So I have this problem. I really REALLY like the grilled chicken buffalo sandwich. Like, a lot. More than someone who tries to eat relatively healthy should. RELATIVELY. They use a generic kaiser roll, limp lettuce, water chicken (this is what I call it, but it's just mass produced "grilled" chicken breasts kept in warm water to keep them from drying out), and buffalo sauce you can get in a squeeze bottle at the grocery store. So delicious. You can get this sandwich at any Wawa, really, but this is just the closest one to my apartment. Most the people that work here I can tell are trying their hardest to be nice, but they definitely hate their jobs. The rest, hate their job and don't care if you know it. After moving back to California, there are very few things I miss more than being able to stumble out of my apartment in any direction (ok, two directions) and head to Wawa. Once inside, you'll find yourself only mildly impressed. Wait for it....wait for it...yes, turn to your right. What's that? A full-fledged, sandwich-making, salavating-causing (terrible grammar) deli. OK, so they're not the world's best sandwiches. But considering this place is open 24 hours a day and the employees have to deal with Penn kids (some of the world's most obnoxious shoppers) those sandwiches are pretty damn cool. Check out this dousy: Roast beef with Caesar (yes, the dressing) on long roll with lettuce, tomato and cheese. It's the money shot. This is my favorite Wawa in the city. I used to pretty much live here back in the day, on $2 breakfast biscuits, Dr. Pepper and coffee (tastes like water, works like coffee.) Now, whenever I eat their sandwiches, I get major indigestion (too much MSG, or something), but I'm still a sucker for a tuna shortie, with 8979879 toppings, and 7 kinds of sauce, and the pre-packaged hummus and pita (even though they give you way too much hummus, and way too few pitas) The fried ravioli are really good too...and the milkshakes are out of this world! If you want to be entertained for hours on end, stand by the milkshake machine, and watch people's faces light up with glee as they create individualized heart-attacks with this futuristic machine. Like all Wawas, this guy is open 24-7, and there's pretty much always a homeless dude or two outside begging for change. But my favorite part of the U-City Wawa experience is the people...whenever you stop by, you're sure to see someone you know, and chances are, they're happy to see you too...because more than likely, they're drunk, and if not, they're about to devour a killer sandwich... read more

This Wawa is allegedly the highest grossing Wawa in the country. The reason for this is because it's right next to Penn's biggest freshman dorm, and it's open 24 hours. If you come here on a weekend night, there will be an abundance of drunk college kids, and you will have to wait a very long time to get any food. They usually don't have enough staff to keep up with the higher demand either. But apart from that, Wawa is an amazing convenience store. They have a great selection of custom made food ranging from hoagies & sandwiches to frozen beverages to mac & cheese to quesadillas. Most of it isn't amazing, but it's really good when you're starving and need something cheap and filling. I also love Wawa's self service milkshakes. They of course also have the usual snacks and beverages of a regular convenience store. read more

It's pretty much part of the u penn campus so it's always busy but usually the waits aren't to bad even during the peak hours. I only go first thing in the morning, and it's a really fun way to start the day -- the folks who work there or go there early in the morning are (almost) always friendly, and the music ALWAYS makes me smile. As far as Wawa goes, this is one of the more poorly service ones I've been to. Yes, it's a busy one because it's in the middle of Penn campus, but that does not excuse it for poor service. I frequent the one in Center City that gets SLAMMED during lunch, and they are quick, fast, efficient and friendly ( see my other review). In contrast, this one at 2am was decently busy with drunk college students which yes I understand can be annoying, but they're still paying customers right. The other night wasn't even that busy maybe.. 10 to 15 ppl in the store total? Took about 15 minutes for my order . When the order was announced, the employee would just yell out the numbers and throw it on the counter without checking the ticket. Long story short, another girl took my order because he threw both of ours on the top at the same time without checking our tickets.. I assume since it was so busy and he was just rushing. I always check my order, and i opened it realizing it was not mine. He goes " the other girl must have took yours" . Okay ... and what. So you want me to take hers? I asked him to re-make it please. And give me attitude? Homie it's not my fault a drunk idiot took my order. I wasn't blaming you, but if you're going to give me attitude it IS your job to check the tickets instead of throwing orders out the window. As far as service today -- I enjoyed our cashier , she was very patient with getting the manager to approve some Marlboro promotion for free vap pens and cartridges. Overall, it's a Wawa. Of all the things I miss about Philly, I think Wawa makes the top 5. * Thanks to Wawa, I coined the term "craptastic" to describe their French Vanilla Capuccino, which comes out of their cappucino machine in the form of powder and lots of scalding hot water. Craptastic denotes that which you think is fantastic, even though you know it's crap. * The made-to-order hoagies are surprisingly good! And the automated order terminals mean you don't have to reason with the terrible staff (a systemic Philadelphia issue) * And I note this Wawa is better than its Chesnut Street counterpart around 36th (I think). I love Wawa and this one is no exception. Very conveniently located, near lots of stuff, on a trolley stop, at a major intersection. Parking is tight and mostly impossible during the day, but this is a walking + transit area, and you can park near here with ease late at night. I pick up odds and ends here regularly. Wawa equals happiness, that's all you really need to know. Stayed at the Sheraton while visiting Philly and I can not tell you how excited I was when I saw a Wawa across the street. The hoagies are awesome, the coffee is great, hazelnut coffee with hazelnut cream yes please, and the the Wawa iced tea is the best. Bought a quart to take home with me because its just that good. A few years after I'd been to UPenn (for a conference), I finally get to try Wawa. Brother and I stopped by for a quick breakfast. Can I just say, I love the electronic ordering thing? There's no way for anyone to screw up your order, because they print out directions on how to make your sandwich--including what order to put the ingredients, when to toast, etc. Their blended coffee was only ok (too icy, and the flavor was not wonderful...but it still hit the spot). Their sandwiches were tasty though (I got a ham egg and cheese...my brother got something much more complicated), and they were fairly cheap. Wish the staff was nicer, but...whatever, i'm not looking for service. Solid food, fair prices, and it's like a block away from my brother's place. awesome. read more

Wawa is what it is. A convenient store that has an array of options. The prices are reasonable. Their food is only okay though. I've had their sandwiches a few times. My biggest gripe is I do not like their tomatoes. I think they freeze them and as a result they are always a little hard. I could be wrong about the reason, but they are hard none-the-less. They also have a few pre-made hot items. The hot dogs are okay. But it's hard to mess up a hot dog. They hot breakfast sandwiches and snack items are below average. Cheap and quick but so not worth it. Go hear for a candy bar, drink, or other package snack item. Don't go here for anything that's actually prepared by them. It's just not that good. read more

One day I went into WaWa to buy a couple hardboiled eggs, but they were all gone. I asked a couple employees that were out on the floor if they had any in stock and they gave me the answer that disgruntled customer service employees everywhere give: "If it's not out, we don't have any more...." When I got to the cash register, the cashier (Liz) overheard me and sent someone to the back to look for my hard boiled eggs and what do you know, they found some!
