I came here for a Wawa pedal. THEY DON'T EVEN SELL ANY. False advertising. I love these gas stations, which are a bit like Sheetz, and they have food at all hours and cheaper gas than most, and even though they can be a bit rough, it's great to have them down here in Florida, because there wasn't too much down here like that before these started opening up. Because of these, it's starting to remind me of NJ down here... or Chicago with some of the food spots like Portillo's! So there you have it - Wawa is not just the noise that whiny b**ches make when they're crying, such as trying to sabotage other Yelpers because other Yelpers are writing more annual reviews than they are and they have no honour, decency or sense of fairness. The funny thing is that such activities literally make me write way more, so keep it up, you're inspiring me, and by the way, your friends told me what you're up to, and we all think it's funny/pathetic, I guess they're less your friends than you think. I visited this Wawa this afternoon to get a macchiato, and the gentleman who made my drink did the most diligent job and created the best visually looking coffee I have ever seen in my life! This was no exaggeration, it literally looked better than coffee advertisements and it tasted amazing! I was in such a rush trying to get to work, but the coffee was truly phenomenal and im so sorry that I couldn't get the gentlemens name. If you haven't heard of Wawa, there is a distinct possibility you are a shut-in. Wawa has been invading the Florida landscape like a swarm of cicadas the past few years. Unlike their buggy counterparts, Wawa is a welcome oasis in a sea of mediocrity. From the moment you see that trademark slanted roof, you know something special awaits your arrival. Mere mortals would simply call it a gas station with a convenience store. The joke, however, would be on them. No Wawa is so much more than that, and it is apparent from the get-go. If you have come for gas, the pumps are spaced perfectly. You can easily enter from either side, with plenty of space to share a row of pumps with landscaping trucks with much ease. If your tire is getting low, they have free air. Who would have thought air could be free! The awesomeness doesn't stop there. AS you approach the entrance to the store, you are greeted by several outdoor seating options where you can sit, relax, and enjoy a delicious meal. I'm not talking about the traditional grab-and-go variety or rows of age-old rolled meat sticks. I am talking about a full deli-counter where you can basically get any type of made-to-order sandwich that you desire. If you are a coffee lover, they have a huge assortment of freshly brewed coffees from mild to bold in flavor. Desire some milk in that cup of joe? They have no less than 12 options of flavored creamers, fat-free milk, nut milk, etc. Plus they make all those fancy Starbucks type dessert coffee drinks for a fraction of the price. Want a decaf caramel mocha frappucino with extra whip and a cherry? Not a problem... From delicious fresh donuts to healthy salads and a variety of drinks, it is really more like a mini-supermarket than a gas station convenience store. My best advice is to download their app and load a gift card on it. It allows you to check out faster, and you get lots of free perks. I score free coffee every few weeks and get invited to special Wawa soirées. Ok, I made that last part up, not sure I would want to attend a gas station party. I try to patronize Wawa because they always have touch free payment methods at the pump so I'm not at risk of card skimming. That worked years ago, but it seems each and every Wawa is probably 25% on functioning touch free payment, ApplePay in my case. I've really had it when I go out of my way to get to a Wawa only to be stuck swiping anyway. It's no longer worth the effort. read more

Why 4 stars? Because they've successfully made gas stations cool. --- --- --- How they managed, I don't know. But Wawa has made me yearn to be inside of it. Yeahhhh.... They just opened in Tampa Bay, and I've already been to 3 of them. The two in TB were absolute mad-houses. I've seen less people in Wal-mart than I did in there. They had people outside directing traffic in the parking lot... and it was totally necessary. People were parking across the street on a dirt road just to make an appearance at the Pinellas Park location. So I thought... this is mostly hype. It can't live up to this. Well... the prime rib sandwich I scored was $2.99. I ordered it on a touch screen, where I picked all my options... which eliminated any miscommunication between myself and the "sandwich artist." Now... prime rib was quite a generous title for this "roast," but it was still tasty for three bucks. How can you beat that? "I cannot believe that I'm enjoying food that was made in a gas station!" That's what I was thinking as I was eating my first hoagie (what they call a sub) from Wawa. I've been reading about this convenience chain that was set to make its presence known in the Tampa Bay area for a long time and I have to say that my first experiences with them have not been disappointing! Wawa is how you've imagined a convenience store could be instead of what you're used to. They're not small, their ATM doesn't have outrageous fees, and instead of strange, who knows how old hot-dog-like food items rolling on grill in front of you they have freshly prepared, good food. I usually like getting my subs from my local grocery store. As good as the subs are it's always somewhat of a train wreck getting one. The deli area is always crowded with no real lines and people jockeying for position. Plus I always seem to get behind the people that either can't decide what they want or have the most complicated sub order imaginable. The system Wawa has eliminates that. There are multiple touch screens where you can place your order. If you've never been to a Wawa before I would recommend looking for one of the employees that's wearing (!) a touch screen. While you're placing your order you can ask them any questions you have. If someone's taking too long just go to another touch screen. After your order is complete you'll get a printed ticket. You can then browse the store and go pay. After that when they call your order number you pick it up and you're out the door. It's a very efficient system. As far as the sub itself I got a toasted chicken parmesan sub on wheat bread and it was quite good. It blows away similar subs I would get at the local sub chains around here. Not only is the food better but Wawa is open 24 hours. If you're feeling naughty there are lots of options to curb a sweet tooth. Pre-packaged items include such decadence as Reese's Peanut Butter Cup pie slices. Fresh made items such as doughnuts and chocolate chip muffins were available also. There are plenty of healthy choices available as well. There's Greek yogurt, salads, and a surprising number of perishable food choices such as fresh apple and orange slices. I chose a container of mixed fruit. Considering that there are many more locations that will be opening around Tampa I see a lot of Wawa in my future! read more

If you've never been to a Wawa before, think "advanced convenience store". They've got gas pumps and snacks and drinks, but also made-to-order sub sandwiches and coffee drinks. Start at the touchscreen. Order your sandwiches, soups, coffee drinks, etc. and choose from a bewildering variety of toppings. It'll print a receipt, which you take to a register. When you pay for the touchscreen order, two things happen: the cashier stamps your receipt "Paid" and the kitchen goes to work. They'll call out your order, you'll give them your paid receipt, and they'll hand over a package full of deliciousness. My first experience here was great if chaotic -- free water bottle, free "I (Heart) Wawa" t-shirt, and free coffee. (The free shirts and water bottles will probably run out this morning, but the free coffee is a newly-opened-store special and will probably last a bit longer.) I also bought a six-inch egg and cheese sub with grilled onions, roasted red peppers, and cracked black pepper, and that was only $2.99, and freaking delicious. So I'm happy Wawa is in town! Their coffee fixins include, in addition to the usual stuff, 100% light cream (for those who regard half-and-half as insufficiently rich). I opted for the fat-free French vanilla creamer. I had to drop off a presentation to a business associate at USF, and on my way back I decided to fill up my gas tank and pop in for a sandwich at this brand-spanking new Wawa convenience store. You'll find Wawa at the intersection of Fowler Avenue and 30th Street which puts it within walking distance of the USF campus, and just a bit north of Busch Gardens. Wawa is opening 5 stores over the next month in the Tampa Bay area following on their huge success in the Philly / NJ region. We know there is more construction planned, so we can expect to see even more Wawa's later this year. They are known for low gas prices, and there were certainly a lot of folks gassing up at the pumps. But the real excitement is inside Wawa's convenience store. For those in the know, the Wawa slogan is "Where the coffee is fresh and the people are inviting. Where the hoagies are deliciously built-to-order for you and the smoothies are freshly made. After one visit you'll see there's just no place like Wawa." Inside the front door and to your right you'll find the infamous touch-screen ordering system. You can choose from a specialty drink such as a smoothie, coffee, hot or cold latte, or a hot chocolate; soups, stews, or bowls; then you have hoagies and sandwiches with bazillions of choices; and finally sides to include mac & cheese, meatballs, chili, and mashed potatoes. If you decide you want a hoagie (sub sandwich) you start by answering yes or no if you want your sandwich toasted. Then you choose from over 20 varieties of hot and cold hoagie options, then you select the size of the sandwich, then choose the cheese and add any toppings or spreads, and finally tack on anything else to your order. This Wawa is amazing!!!! So large and clean! Plenty of touchscreens where you can order delicious, delicious hoagies that are made from the freshest ingredients! Wawa is brilliant and makes all of their stores super efficient. Basically what happens is you walk in, place your custom-made order into their touch screens. Then, it prints a receipt out for you, which you take to the register and pay. Then you pick your order up at the food station once you've paid... this really cuts down on the waiting time because rather than waiting for your food to get made and then waiting to pay, you usually only have to wait to pay (which, at Wawa, is usuallly a minimal wait), and then by the time you're done paying, your food will be ready! It's so smart and efficient! I don't know why not everyplace does it like this. GREAT COFFEE!!! For the first 10 days that this Wawa is open, any sized coffee is free!!!! They have regular, decaf, 100% columbian, hazelnut, French vanilla and caramel, plus tons of delicious creamer flavors (I personally love the Irish coffee creamer). They also have a multitude of iced coffees and frozen coffees and hot chocolates, etc. (Those one's aren't free, though). Went there for opening day and they gave away so much free stuff (T-shirts, clappers, little stuffed Wawa birds, samples of food), along with having a giant stuffed hoagie and Wawa bird. Wawa has the absolute best customer service around!! Reasons Why Wawa is the Best: 1. Cheap gas 2. Store is clean, especially the bathrooms (making it a great rest stop for road trips) 3. I've been going to this Wawa for the past four years because I moved to Tampa for USF (which is right down the road, so this location is great if you're a student). It's great, and never disappoints! I've gone here as early as 7AM before work/class and as late as 3AM when I was a bored freshman in college who had a late night craving. This Wawa is reliable and great. Service is expected - it's pretty quick in terms of the registers/food and if there is every an obscenely long line, typically somebody will come up to help and open another register. If you go in the morning or around lunch time, it might take a few minutes longer to get your food/drink just because of the influx of people from the time of the day. Their air pump USUALLY is working, but because of it's location on a busy road in a busy area, sometimes it's broken or there is a long wait for it. read more

This definitely is a good option if you want a non-fussy sandwich on the run. For less than $5, you can get a decent sized sandwich made to order. You order on a touch screen, and by the time I ordered, got a drink, and paid the cashier, the sandwich was done. All in, I probably spent 3 minutes in Wawa and walked out with my deli sandwich (roast beef on wheat with cheddar, mustard, pickles, hot peppers, onion, lettuce, salt and pepper). The sandwich didn't blow my mind, and I felt thirsty for the next two hours, so everything must have been salt-laden, but for the time and money, it was great. I didn't know there was such thing as a 3-star Wawa. Every Wawa I've ever been to has been a solid 5 because they're so big, clean, modern and just cool. This one is not nearly as nice as most, though. That's because it's in a lousy neighborhood. If you pull in after dark there's a lot of riff-raff in the parking lot and inside the store. I saw a bunch of gearheads having a full-on Fast & Furious tuneup rally in the parking lot. This location is laid out just like every other Wawa, but it looks old and worn. It doesn't have the sparkle a newer location might have. In fact, it's literally dirty. Trash can be found on the floor everywhere - inside and out. I did grab a quesadilla here once and it was only ok. They didn't seem to grill it at all. Very greasy and messy. I got spots all over my shirt. Seems like the cooks half-assed it. Still, I'd much rather go here than any other gas station in this area, but it might be worth it to go another few miles to a better, nicer, cleaner Wawa. read more

I have not seen a Wawa gas station has electric charge station. This one certainly has one. I saw a lot of local owners or traveller come here to charge up! The only inconvenience is wait time. The idea was very intriguing, selecting food items and customizing them for order. However, I think their system needs a small update because I don't think my order was done correctly. I ordered a gravy with biscuits. What I ended up getting was the biscuit with just the tiniest hints of gravy. It was dry and could have been so much better. I also ordered some waffles. I decided to head over to the Wawa near USF to see what all the hype was about. Figuring the crowds would die down almost a week after it opened, I went over mid-afternoon. I managed to find the last parking spot. Inside, it's very open and welcoming. Lots of touchscreens to order food and drinks. Some of the staff seemed overwhelmed but I can understand why. I can't believe how many people were crammed inside! Lots of prepackaged foods and drinks available too. I thought the touchscreens were nice. It's easy to understand and customize your order. To be honest, I would say my experience was a3.5, but because the gas is so freaking cheap, I'll round up this time. Had to get gas on the way home from work, and immediately wanted to come here. Be warned, traffic is insane! I was over there at 3:30 and. It was still a zoo. Finally got to a pump and gas was super cheap, no surcharge for using my debit card. Score! After filling up, I definitely wanted to snoop around the store. I was blown away by the selection from breakfast, to a billion options for lunch/ dinner, ranging from many soups to so many sandwich options! I had to try a sub. Ten inches for $3.99? Yeah, count me in! I got a toasted veggie sub with ROASTED PEPPERS. That just made my meal right there. They gave me my number and I went to pay. Then... I waited... And waited... And waited. Finally, the boyfriend sees some unclaimed subs in the pickup area (we were on the side of the hot drinks bc we got one of those too). We found our food! But they never called our number, I am utterly convinced. As we're driving back home, we realize we left without our coffee. We go back to the zoo and inquire about our drink, since we prob left that, too. Our drink hadn't even been made yet! Ugh. Not happy. This was my 1st visit to a Wawa. I heard about all the hype, but there isn't really one around the area of my house. I decided to stop here on my way to USF for gas and a drink. The gas was priced lower than average, score! Inside, it's much bigger than I expected a convenience store to be. There is a ton of fountain drink choices as well as an entire display case of fresh pre-made sandwiches, fresh fruit, yogurt, hummus snacks, veggies, etc. The bathrooms were spotless clean. Overall, the gas station had a very nice feel. Normally, I have a strict no-eating-food-from-the-gas-station policy, but I was starving and really running short on time so I grabbed a pre made buffalo chicken wrap. Was it the most delicious sandwich Ive ever had? NO. Was it decent? YES. I am a big fan of Wawa but this one is a bit too crowded and not that clean. The parking lot is huge but needs a bit of cleaning after all appearance is everything. I ordered sandwiches and was disappointed the workers were not wearing caps on their hair and beards. They did have on hats but the caps should be used as well. The restrooms are not clean and are very small. This particular one is located near the college in town so I would hope it would be a bit nicer. I give this allocation 3 stars because the customer service is not that good and it could stand for management to stay on top of their cleanliness. read more

The food is fast, yummy, and readily available. The gas is cheap, popular and plentiful. The only reason Wawa gets four, not five stars is because they lack the normal household items that other gas stations or convenience stores offer. Like... practically ten different spanish-language "Pinguino" treats, but no cereal? What if I need that? Kind of weird. Granted, the fresh food is not something you see at your day-to-day Exxon station. But the non-fresh options are lacking. Oh well, if you've got midnight munchies definitely come here. read more

Probably the most interactive, bright and fun gas station market I have ever been to. This is a review on their food and coffee since I didn't even get gas here! They have a huge selection of self service coffee and different creamer. They also have a way where you can buy other specialty type coffees and lattes that someone will make for you. The coolest part is the sandwich ordering process which includes a touch screen ordering system and they fully load your sandwich to however you desire. The sandwiches were good and tasted fresh! I think they were cheaper or about the same than their Subway counterpart. read more
