They go the extra mile in details for a moderate price. My manicure which included a flower petal soak and seaweed exfoliation was only $170 pesos! I also got my eyebrows shaped and he listened to what I wanted and my eyebrows look great! The place was clean and well staffed. This is now my go-to spot!

Could not get through to make a reservation on the phone so since I was staying in Roma Norte anyways I stopped by in person to reserve for the next day. You're in the right entry near the gas station and upstairs, there will likely be a gentleman there at a podium and just say you are going to Paprika. I got an appt w Alex, and it was 730 pesos. Prices range from 630+ (see menu pic) so if cost is super important you can double check what the stylists they give you will be. They take cards of course. My Spanish is so so, so after I told Alex a little bit about what I wanted for my long straight hair we had another bilingual stylist confirm and talk it out to make sure. I loved the haircut. It's stylish, light layers and he took a lot of time to finish it and really make it look great. I have now been at the beach a few days, barely washing it or maintaining it and it's still a gorgeous mane. Very happy with my decision to go here instead of a lame small town salon when I got home.

This salon just showed up on my radar recently with few, but excellent reviews. And now, I've found my "will be back" place at Estética Face & Hair. I contacted the salon through Yelp and within a few minutes I heard back from Ana, the Owner. I provided a brief description of what I wanted and I had an appointment scheduled for the next morning. Voila! When I arrived I was greeted by Ana and Violeta, the sweet and friendly salon mascot. Since moving to Mexico City I changed my hair from a very Texas blonde to a brunette, my natural color. But I (and my husband) miss my blond locks so I decided to get back to that on a brief solo visit to the City. This wasn't going to be an easy feet so I needed a color pro or I knew I might end up with a head full of who knows what color and in what condition! When I explained in detail to Ana what I wanted to accomplish, she relayed in Spanish to Veronica, the stylist charged with my current hair project. Veronica was wonderful. I could tell by the tools of her trade she was a pro. As a gentleman left the salon he leaned over to me and said "you're in good hands". I told him that I felt very confident. Veronica proceeded to foil and color with close attention to detail. She put on the finishing touches at the rinse bowl and led me back to the mirror for the unveiling. With wet hair it's hard to tell the final color, but it looked agreeable and we proceeded to the cut. I opted for lob since the back of my hair has been growing at an exponential rate and it seemed unbalanced to me. The lob was the perfect choice to turn the tide. With the cut and blowout complete I looked in the mirror and felt pure happiness. I loved the color. Veronica did indeed have a good eye and she put it to work on my hair. It was soft and bouncy, and just felt great. Now, it wasn't as platinum as I have been in the past, but that kind of blonde comes over time. Next time, we agreed, we will go even lighter as we work our way back to super-blonde. Today I am back to Vancouver to see my husband. I know he will appreciate my new doo, and Veronica's great work. I will be back in Mexico City in June. And I will be back to see Veronica, Ana, and Violeta. If you are in the City and need a great colorist to trust, you should see Veronica too! PRO TIPS: The salon shares space with a barber, Barbaria Hippodromo, so don't be confused by an establishment across the street with a similar name as Estética Face and Hair. Also, bring cash. My complete hair day was about $2100 pesos plus tip.

I was nervous to get any type of medical treatment as an American visiting Mexico City, and Alex was able to put my nervousness to rest. He made sure I was comfortable at all times, that I understood the procedures he was performing and best practices (using a helpful translator app that I started using as well because it worked so effectively). Most importantly, Alex was laser focused on my satisfaction with his services. Anything I showed even mild hesitation with was immediately addressed and done so very professionally. Because I am not a fluent Spanish speaker, they were very accommodating and provided a technician Erik who was very knowledgeable and helpful. When I finally came for my sessions (three in total because they offer helpful packages) the same technician who I met with beforehand was there to help. They did a fantastic job making of making me comfortable throughout the process and the facial I got was the best I ever had. They went into detail and cleaned every last pore. I couldn't be happier! I will definitely return to this clinic next time I need anything done in Mexico City!
