I have never tried an Asian masseuse before but a colleague of mine had mentioned having an Asian…read moremassage recently and it being the best massage she had ever had so I called for an appointment and was pleasantly surprised to get an appointment within days instead of weeks like the other places I was looking at. And wow, it was INCREDIBLE!!! It was the PERFECT pressure, so relaxing but also working the knots out of my shoulders and neck... there was hot oil and hot stones (no extra charge!) and a hot wet towel which was used to both massage and wipe off extra oil... I was in heaven!! And my masseuse was so sweet and aware of my body language! Asking if the pressure was Ok when my ticklish spots flinched under the pressure of her hands. I cannot recommend this place highly enough! I will be going back regularly!!!!

I have tried a few other Chinese massage places, but this place is great for a deep tissue Swedish…read moremassage (what I prefer). The ladies (Judy and can't remember the ladies name) that work there are very good at finding those knots and loosening a stiff neck. The are very professional. If a deep tissue isn't what you're looking for then they also do a medium massage which is nice for relaxing. I would suggest getting a 2 hour massage for your body (head to foot) anything less than that isn't doing any relaxation good, because it seems like the 2 hours fly by when your relaxed.

The bottom line - Jen is an amazing masseuse, located in a soothing office conveniently located…read morenext a free parking lot with 12 hour parking. Her prices are reasonable for excellent service and obvious expertise. I'm happy to know I have a great massage option when I travel to my parents' house, to work out the knots from the flights and drive to get there. Massage - I went in for a 90 minute hot stone massage, but on a 100 degree day, we both agreed that it would probably be better to skip the hot stones! She asked me about whether I familiar with massage (always a good question for a new client - it's good to prepare people for what to expect if they aren't familiar with professional massages) and whether I had some specific concerns or problem areas. She also asked me about what sort of pressure I liked, since I am quite familiar with massage, getting one about once a month or so. The massage itself was perfect! Jen struck the right balance between Swedish-style relaxing massage and deep tissue/myofascial release. I left feeling very relaxed and refreshed. Ambiance - the set up is something between spa-like and a slightly more salon treatment room-like. While the latter might not sound as luxurious, it lends a very professional and clean feeling to the setting. The lighting and the music in the treatment room give a relaxing, warm feeling to the space. Service - as I mentioned, Jen is excellent at what she does. She also has a warm, welcoming air about her which will put you at ease if this is your first massage or simply your first massage with her. She was extremely responsive to my inquiry via Yelp as well as a follow up questions regarding payment. She only accepts cash or check, so it was helpful to know this ahead of time and come with the appropriate payment. Price/value - for this out-of-towner, used to paying significantly more, I found her prices, particularly for the quality of massage, extremely reasonable! Check her out and see how great to you feel afterwards. It's worth it!

"Rubber Ducky, You're the One"…read more Full disclosure: I am neither an old hippie nor a new age hippie. Heck, I don't even particularly care for leaving my hair straight. But if you were hypothetically born in the 70's...and I'm not saying that I was... you have a miniature hippie living way down deep in your DNA somewhere. Scientific fact. It's Ok to unleash that inner hippie once and a while, and a perfect place to do it is at Temple Harmonics by fully submerging yourself into one of their restorative, evening sound baths. Rubber ducky and bubbles not included. But do bring your pillow and blanket and snuggle into one of twenty-eight comfortable zero gravity chairs arranged in front of the sound stage. Then prepare to float off to dreamland on a meditative wave of Tibetan Singing Bowls, Tingsha bells, and Native American flutes, all set to keyboard music and choreographed by the very talented gong-show master himself, Frank Andresen. It's ok if you fall asleep. It's also ok if you drool. The sweet, soothing sounds of snoring around the room may also periodically chime in with the music, and hey, that's ok too. But if instead of falling asleep, you are energized by the music, you will feel funky, "good, good, good vibrations' pulsing and humming throughout your body and chi/ki/prana (or in my case, my glowing, chocolate-chip-oatmeal-cookie inner life force). Ladies, remove any ponytail hair binders, FunBun hair pieces, or dangly jewelry as it will distract you from being fully relaxed during your transcendental journey. When the concert is over, you may be invited to step inside one of the Tibetan bowls for a mini chakra balancing from Mr. Andresen. Who doesn't need a Solfeggio frequency or two in their life? Bring a piece of your experience at Temple Harmonics with you when you purchase healing rocks, crystals, jewelry and more for sale at the Rock and Gift Shop near the exit before leaving the building and returning your inner hippie back to its rightful, proper place. **Pro tip: Save yourself $5.00 by reserving a chair ahead of time. Cost is $15.00 with reservation; $20 at the door **Keep an eye on Temple Harmonic's calendar for events with psychic medium Melissa Divine. ~The Nosy Norwegian Sniffing out good deals and Himalayan salt lamps so that you don't have to.
