Matt, the owner, called me back the next day and we arranged a time for him to come and give me an estimate. He showed up exactly when he said he would, and emailed me the estimate the next day. When I hired him, he told me upfront that it would be a while before he could start due to an ongoing project he was working on. I appreciated that. When the time came for him to start, there were some delays, mainly weather related, and he was very conscientious about calling me and letting me know what was going on and when to expect them. Although the project took longer than I expected to be finished, I am very happy with the finished product. Matt is excellent at communication. He took care of all permits, and arranged all inspections. His crew was always on time. They did an excellent job cleaning up after they were done, and the finished project was fantastic. I just finished an addition project where Palacio Construction handled a majority of the work. Any questions I had, Walter explained and answered them, and always went the extra mile to make certain i understood and calmed any and all anxieties that are common for a homeowner to have when they decide to go all-in on a project of this caliber. Walter always gave me options for the work. He'd ask to see any quotes i received from other plumbers, insulation guys, etc, just to see if he could get one of his pro's to beat the price. He saved me thousands on plumbers and even got me the option to replace my entire roof while he had his crew putting on the addition's roof at a minimal cost. His framers, foundation pros and anyone that would show up to do work were all punctual and worked harder than any ive ever seen. Their work ethic is 2nd to none! Gabby (his framer) was helpful to take care of any structure issues he saw as a potential problem, adding support in places where he thought he needed it, and taking the time to explain why. To be fair, Draco Homes can build a decent house. Neighbors of mine have complained about some…read moreissues in the house, but my house has been relatively problem free. A few minor issues that were corrected fairly quickly.... Draco hires some fairly competent contractors, assuming you're paying attention to their work. Despite what they tell you, your own Real Estate Agent and a good Home Inspector of your choice are a must. My real problem with Draco, though, has been in the yard. Draco used dirt dug up from other house's foundations, then (poorly) screened it, before spreading it around as fill and "loam". Compounding the issue, Draco paid ZERO attention to the weather forecast, so the day before closing, much of the "loam" and hydroseed washed away, leaving me with a rocky, uneven mess that will not grow grass in many places despite an irrigation system and fertilizer. Draco has promised to fix it numerous times, including at closing, but have failed to do so. They also came by and planted trees, as required by the town, but did a terrible job and they look awful. Draco certainly seems capable of building a nice house, but the constant fighting to get them to take the time to do the job properly is simply exhausting. If you go with this company to build your house, make sure EVERYTHING is acceptable BEFORE you close, because you will drive yourself crazy trying to get them to fix something once they've been paid.
