Stupid name for a restaurant, but limited choices in the area. You order at the counter and they will "buzz" you when food is ready. We came here for dinner. Crazy overpriced, but overall pizza and beer options were good. Tables and floors were dirty, not to mention nobody bussing debris stacked tables the entire hour plus that we were there.

04/14/26 We ordered the We Cook Special 16" pizza and the Famous Hot Wings after a long day of hiking. The pizza was fresh, hot, and delicious. The toppings were perfect and the crust was cooked just right. The wings were just as delicious. They were crispy and the sauce was flavorful. The wings were accompanied by ranch, celery, and carrots. The wings were a bit spicy, but the ranch was the perfect solution. It was just two of us and we were so full that we took half the pizza back to our hotel to enjoy the next day for dinner.

Three only because the pizza toppings were good. Sign said FRESH Salad- that is a LIE. It is pre-packaged and parts were brown. Service- ummm what service? And they want a tip.... You have to get your menu, order at the counter, get your water, napkins and silverware. The only service they provided was the cooking of the pizza. Which was paid for. Tipping is foe an extra service, which was not provided. And I am at least a 20% tipper. Tables were not clean. $50 for two pizzas and a salad. Dont waste your time. Goto Pizza Hut and I dont even like the Hut.

Stopped by We Cook Pizza & Pasta while staying near the Grand Canyon and really liked the casual and cozy ambiance, much appreciated after a long day. Even though the restaurant was packed, our food came out surprisingly quickly, which was a big plus. It's a counter-service setup, where you place your order at the cashier and your food is prepared for pickup once it's ready. We ordered the Hot & Spicy Wings and The Works pizza. The wings were definitely the highlight: crunchy, flavorful, and had just the right amount of heat. The Works pizza (their take on a supreme) was decent but overall pretty average. The toppings were fine, but the crust wasn't very crispy when it came out, which took away from the pizza a bit. Overall, it's a convenient and comfortable spot in the area with fast service. While the pizza didn't stand out, the wings and cozy atmosphere make it a solid option if you're staying nearby.

Wanted to pick up some lunch on our way out of the Grand Canyon and made the mistake of not just getting a salad from the grocery store in the park. The salad from there would have had cheese and protein for a lower price. Tomatoes were old and soggy in my salad so I had to take them out. Husband got the cheapest pizza since the prices were insane, and $12 for what compares to a microwave personal pizza is still insane.

Ribeye steak, seasonal veggies and onion rings with a non-alcoholic beer bottle. The beer glass is my partner's draft beer.

The food prices are too high considering the quality is nowhere near El Tovar dining room. Service is ok but not as good as El Tavor service. I ordered seasonal veggies and onion rings along with my steak, very oily veggies. The waiter didn't offer me a beer glass. He just gave me an opened beer bottle. Bottled non-alcoholic beer costs $7 while at El Tovar non-alcoholic cocktail only costs $4.5. El Tovar has the best view and best service in addition to the best food, while the price is slightly cheaper than this steakhouse. I would choose El Tovar anytime over this overpriced steakhouse. Their menu doesn't have T-bone steak. Menu has prime ribs, but the waiter said they didn't have.

I was skeptical but wrong! The low ratings and poor reviews made me prejudge this spot inaccurately. We had diner here and were immediately surprised from the min we walked in to our last bite of pizza. The dinning area is spacious, clean and what not many people comment on, very well decorated and designed. The lighting was retro and the colors were simple and traditional pizza shop red and white but not in your face. well done. You order first and then are given a buzzer that goes off when your food is ready. I ordered the Chef Salad with no bacon or olives. I was happy with the size of the salad. Often times salads are skimpy but still costly. The amount of meat was however on the skimpy side. Since I asked for no bacon I guess I was hopeful that they would put a little extra turkey & ham on the salad. Yeah, that didn't happen lol. TBH it really wasn't much to begin with so I guess that would be my only negative critique of the salad otherwise the ingredients were fresh and everything tasted great. Now onto the star of the show the pizza. Since that's what they're known for that's what we wanted to focus on and it was very good. TBH like I said my expectations were very low because of the reviews and the low star rating, but I was actually very pleasantly surprised. The cheese was plentiful, the crust was decent. I mean come on people, we're out in the middle of the desert not in New York City. A bit pricey but again I understand we're in the land of tourist trap right in front of canyon so we expected that. Our server was very friendly, and somebody even came by and picked up our dirty plates while we sat and chatted with our friends. All in all this was a surprisingly enjoyable experience. The food was way better than I expected and for that I'm going to give it a four star review. I can't give it a full five because I have certainly had better pizza and there was a skimpy amount of meat on my salad otherwise, great experience.

Maybe the most plain Caesar salad ever. No flavor. Chicken. Looked processed and not fresh. Bacon ranch chicken sandwich was ok. Only good because of the bacon and ranch. Chicken was crispy but dry.

My husband got the Bonita salad with chicken, which was so fresh and delicious. The mangos and avocados were perfectly ripe. I think the dressing was made in house; this salad was a champion. I got the arroz con pollo without the cheese, but I thought the sauce and cheese would be together. This, it came with the sauce. No matter, it was still yummy with fresh veggies and good quality chicken. We definitely recommend Plaza Bonita after a long day at the Grand Canyon.

The food options in general in the Grand Canyon are grim, so we didn't expect too much, only being lured in by the promise of 10% off due to our hotel stay at the Red Feather Lodge. The food was even worse than our low expectations. Walking in for dinner on Saturday during the shoulder season, it wasn't very busy at all. And yet we felt like we were ignored for a good while before we were able to place our order. Service in general was very slow, with the waitress disappearing for several long stretches of time. For example, it took about 20 minutes to get our order in after we had sat down and then another 20 minutes after we had finished to get the check. At least the chips and salsa arrived quickly. Chips and Salsa (Complementary) - These are standard yellow corn tortilla chips, with tons of tiny crushed chips on the bottom and larger whole ones on top. The salsa is slightly spicy, tangy, has plenty of crunchy chopped onion and tender tomatoes mixed in along with fresh herbs. Pretty standard stuff but tasty. Pork Carnitas ($29.99) - When this dish came out we were not sure what exactly we had received. What was on the plate certainly didn't look like carnitas; instead it looked like some kind of pork stew. We flagged the waitress down and she insisted they were carnitas. Strange. The "carnitas" consists of cubed and stewed pork mixed with celery and peppers. The cubes are compressed and cannot be shredded apart. There is a tiny bit of texture on some pieces that indicate that they had been fried at some point, but they are mostly tender instead. The texture reminds me of commercial pork that's been injected with saline and preservatives. It's very lean but the stewing liquid adds tons of rich, deep, flavors to the dish. Unfortunately the pork itself doesn't taste good. There's a strange off flavor, perhaps of older or freezer burned meat. The rice and beans are pretty normal. The rice is moist but each fried grain can be felt. It has appropriate salty tomato flavor. The beans are tender and mostly mashed, a little on the silky/watery side with some pieces of bean remaining. They are seasoned appropriately. Given the texture on the beans I wonder if they are from a can and/or direct from a commercial supplier. This dish is served with four small flour tortillas which are the worst I have ever seen at a Mexican restaurant. They are completely dried out, glued together into a stack. Clearly no care was given to storage. Any Mexican restaurant should be ashamed at serving the quality of the tortillas we received. Finally, there's some pico de gallo and guac to create some "carnitas" tacos. The guac is quite tangy from citrus juice. No matter what the waitress said, I don't think this dish was "Pork Carnitas." Even after leaving the restaurant, I tried to do some research to see if there is some regional variation of carnitas that could match this dish. I found nothing. From the pictures of another review 10 years ago, I see Plaza Bonita used to serve real carnitas - shredded deep fried pork. The switch to cubed pork must be a cost cutting measure. (1/5) Combo #2, Enchilada, Burrito, Green Corn Tamale, Shredded Beef ($24.99) - I'm not sure why anyone would order Combo #1 when the #2 is only a dollar more! The main difference between the enchilada and burrito is the tortilla used. The former has a corn tortilla, soaked a bit until soft and tender. There's a bit of standard red enchilada sauce poured on top, followed by just a bit of cheese. The burrito uses a toothsome and pliable flour tortilla that is rather tough and requires some work to get through with a knife. Both items I chose to get stuffed with shredded beef, which is actually pretty decent. It's very tender, very flavorful since they've been stewed for a while in some kind of sauce. The green corn tamale seems to be masa mixed with whole sweet corn kernels, and green chile skins (only a tiny bit of each). They add a lot of sugar, so the whole thing kind of tastes like eating sweet cornbread. The tamale is otherwise tender in texture and easy to eat. The texture is like that of an extruded masa, like it was prepared commercially in a factory. My guess based on the texture and appearance is that this isn't made in house. (3/5) Plaza Bonita was really disappointing. The pricing is absolutely ridiculous for what we received. They serve very low quality food for obscene prices. I think the only reason they survive as a business is because nothing else in the area is good either. Bathrooms - Two rooms with multiple stalls

My wife went with the Nathan's hot dog loaded up with chili, cheese, and onions. Honestly, that was the safe play and it paid off. The hot dog was good. Solid. Dependable. It did not try to reinvent the wheel or elevate the hot dog experience. It just showed up, did its job, and moved on with its life. Respect. I decided to get adventurous with the Native Taco. And by adventurous, I mean I ordered something that is basically chili, cheese, onions, lettuce, and salsa sitting on what I can only describe as pizza dough. So imagine a taco. Now imagine a slice of pizza. Now combine them and remove most of the seasoning. That's the experience. It's actually an interesting concept. I'll give them that. Taco pizza energy. But everything kind of blended together into one unified note of... fine. Not bad. Not offensive. Just polite. It felt like all the ingredients had a meeting beforehand and agreed not to outshine each other. The hot chocolate was good though. No sarcasm there. It hit the spot, especially with that canyon air reminding you you're not at sea level anymore. All in all, it's three stars. You're at the Grand Canyon. You're not here for culinary fireworks. You're here for one of the greatest natural wonders on earth. The food is there to keep you upright and moving toward the rim. Mission accomplished.
