When I informed him of all the errors, he agreed to refund half of my deposit. When I picked up my Trust copy, I discovered one more example of his sloppy work: a large water stain on the cover, as if it had been carelessly used as a drink coaster. I wasn't being helped by the county's public human services department despite asking for assistance multiple times over the past 5 years, which left me in a desperate situation. At the time, I was experiencing homelessness, severe trauma, health complications on top of disability's, and impaired judgment due to overwhelming circumstances. Rather than receiving protection or a trauma-informed response, I was treated as an offender. I was later personally contacted by a now resigned officer from this department abusing their authority to gain & take advantage of sexual relations with me during this time period of vulnerability

I have heard it said that there is no such thing as justice in Family Law. While that is true, Kara has helped me get as close to that as you can find in this area of Law. If you ever find yourself in the unfortunate situation of dealing with Family Law issues, I would recommend at least getting a consultation from Kara if she is available at the time and strongly considering hiring her. On another note, she is a one-woman shop. While this may seem like a bad thing, it is not. I have been represented in the past by a full-service firm. While it was great at first, as it neared the end, my case was just another case to clear off my attorney at the time's desk. As much as I liked him, I just couldn't go back for later issues because of that as it ended up working against me. I had to keep pushing to get the matter resolved. I have never had that experience with Kara. She is an excellent advocate to have on your behalf in the courtroom!

Or like she did to me, tell me there is no reason to show up to court, and then calls after you're already late telling you to show up. This of course makes you look bad to the judge, and she will save her own skin before defending you. Save your money for another lawyer, as Kara is just going to bend you over and leave you helpless and then abandon your case, because she can't keep track of your case for $300 an hour.
