My 2 1/2 year old son went today for the first and we had a blast! It was a little crowded (probably because it was a rainy day) but they have a wide variety of toys and activities for all age groups which I saw were being regularly sanitized. They even had a dark quiet area with hands on activities and sensory items. The staff that was working were very kind and professional and the lobby was filled with toys and activities to purchase. We will definitely be coming back!

My son hasn't been around a lot of kids and been able to go many places. We rock the Spectrum was a great first experiment amidst this pandemic because I feel even better to go back again! Everything was clean and every parent and child of age was wearing a mask. The staff is so friendly and respectful of being up to par with sanitation. The bathrooms were very clean. They have a great private room for parties. I was even able to put my son is a clean high chair and feed him lunch so he can go back to playing. I can't get over how happy this gym made my son. Here are some pictures of during and after.

One of the most friendliest stuff I ever saw! They are so nice and cool, playing with the kids none stop! Place is not so big, but for a 6 year old or less it's just perfect. Plenty of parking outside and if you need a break and get coffee, right outside there are plenty of shops, and of course the stuff will watch the kids for you.

It's locate in a warehouse building in a business plaze because it's just a Venues & Event Spaces and not a restaurant, so they do not serve food or drinks here. However, we had arranged caterings to bring the food in, and we brought wines and cocktails which their staff helped serving them. So basically it is what it is, a very simple empty space which you can make what you can make of it. I am not sure the management provided the backgrounds and curtains as they looked simple but nice. The IT staff brought in the screen for presentations and the loud speakers for music and announcements. As the meeting getting to the end, I felt it went smoothly and thought the staff was very friendly and helpful. The only thing I thought was parking could be a challenge. If you plan to have a large group of people attending a event here, there will not be enough parking spaces in front of the building. Your guests may have to park out in the back and walk around the building to get in.

The Annual Seminole Region Club Managers Charity Gala goes above and beyond to blow your mind with…read morevisual stimulation and exciting themes. I have no idea what this event was like 25 years ago, but the last 3 years have been impressive... And to think, this is all done for children charities. * * * VENUE * * * For over 20 years, the Boca West Country Club has graciously hosted the gala dinner and golf tournament held the day after. Boca West is one of Boca's premiere Country Clubs; once through the gated entrance, a short drive passing manicured landscaping leads up to the huge porte cochere where valets await your car. Inside the clubhouse, you enter an open area that is perfect for mingling and getting checked in; the main event is in the large ballroom. The main ball room has many food stations and bars, so going hungry here is impossible. There is also a back room to house the desserts and further back is a large bar highlighting special liquors. * * * THEME * * * Each year the Gala has a theme what it is kept secret; a wonderful surprise to learn the theme as you walk in. These themes are not as simple as colors or a cool music genre; the themes are carefully thought out and extended into all aspects of the event. 2015 was a throwback to old televisions shown (Retro TV), complete with each food station representing different class shows such as Giligan's Island, MASH, Happy Days and the dessert room representing Willy Wonka (movie but who's checking). 2016 was all about Fairytale Fantasies... as we stepped out of our car the Big Bad Wolf welcomed us and Cinderella handed me my first drink. I spent most of the night by the food station themed after Frozen. 2017 got insane with Heroes and Villains... In addition to the numerous heroes and villains walking around the event, I loved the each food station that seemed to represent different hero and villains famous cities rather than the characters... and it wasn't hard on the eyes to see Supergirl and Wonder Woman posing for pictures (they were costumed with body paint and bottoms only). * * * FOOD * * * Other galas and charity events may offer food and drinks but the CMAA gala impresses; of course they may have a salad, fruit bowl, chicken.... but it's the nitty-gritty main dishes that take it to the next level. For example, gilligans Island was serving chicken with some kind of banana glaze to follow with the theme of Gilligans Island of course. Frozen actually used slabs of carved ice serving chilled shrimp, crab and other seafood. Plus there was plenty of filet mignon, lobster and other mouthwatering delicacies. If you saw all the spreads, you would think there's no way you'd manage to have dessert... but step into the other room and get blown away; everything and anything you could think of that your dentist said not to eat is here (cakes, cookies, ice cream, chocolate waterfalls, pastries, puddings, pies, candies, et cetera). It's a shame we have to get dressed up... don't get me wrong, I like getting all spiffed up and looking good but it would be nice if we can wear spandex or stretchy pants... over-eating is a given here ! * * * AFTER DINNER * * * After eating dinner, and hopefully before dessert, they always have a great band covering a variety of music genres and just about everything is danceable. Each year I've been impressed with the band and last year was by far my favorite; they covered many classic rock and pop songs from the past 30 years but also had everyone jamming to today's popular hits... especially when they did anything from Pitbull. In the entrance room, not the main ballroom, they have many items on display for a silent auction ranging from jewelry to women's accessories such as purses and wallets, wine and vacation packages, golf clubs and courses and much more. Pick what interests you, write down your name and dollar value and hopefully at the end of the night you got yourself a bargain. A few years ago I won 4-nights at a 5-star boutique hotel in Mexico for a bargain price of $425; easily valued over $900... Loved it so much that I've returned and look forward to returning again soon. * * * CHARITY * * * One the the best parts of the Gala is the root of the entire event... the money raised from tickets, donations, table purchases and the silent auction is donated to various children's charities. OVER THE YEARS, more then $2 million has been donated to the Special Olympics of Palm Beach County... almost $2 million to the SOS Children Villages... Toys For Tots has received almost $1 million worth of toys... other charities that have received contributions: George Snow Foundation, Florence Fuller, First Tee, Place of Hope and Unicorn Children's Foundation * * * * * * * * Hats off to the Club Managers Association of America (CMAA) for organizing this Charity Gala annually for the past 27 years. Huge thanks to our dear friends that have invited us as their guests... honored.

Holy cow. I might…read morehave to retire as CM after this event. Granted, this is a ticketed event - with a hefty price tag - but you deff get your moneys worth. Plus, all of the money goes to a great cause. But let me touch on how over the top this event is....cause months later I'm still blown away. I was lucky enough to score some free tickets. A buddy of mine purchased a bunch through his job, and offered me a ticket. A friend offering you a ticket to this kind of event is the type of gesture that makes them your best man at your wedding, the godfather of your first born, they'd better be #1 in your Top 8 (if Myspace was still a thing). Chapter 1: Decor So...it all starts with the entrance. We were tipped off that the theme would be "storybooks" and as we walk in, through a narrow walkway adorned with trees and greenery, there's sparkling lights - you're literally walking into a storybook. There to greet us - two recognizable characters: Little Red Riding Hood and The Wolf. SEXIFIED though. Like Red was wearing thigh highs and the wolf was shirtless with an airbrush painted on costume. Dude was ripped! The characters were around every corner! The perverted Tin Man (asking girls to squeeze his oil can), Jasmine & Aladdin, Elsa, Peter Pan and a bunch of others. The costumes and attention to detail were incredible. Chapter 2: Food Holy moly. This is the most amount of food I've ever seen at an event. They had a bunch of different sections - a cold bar with shrimp, caviar and other seafood. A Mediterranean area with hummus and rices and olives and lamb. A grilled area with lobsters and steaks. A cheese spread like I've never seen. A latin area with a bunch of different items. CRAZY. Then what might be the highlight of the event - a dessert room. Yes, read back, I mentioned "areas" and "bars" and "spreads". This time I sad ROOM. YES, AN ENTIRE ROOM FULL OF DESSERTS. Holy shit. There were more desserts than I can remember, but if you like cookies, pie, cake, creamy concoctions, or any other sweets, this place will make your head explode. Chapter 3: Booze As with everything else there was no shortage of booze. They had a couple of bars in the main room with wine, mixed drinks, etc. And then behind the dessert room (yes, snuck that in again) they had another bar with craft beers, and some top shelf liquors. I think most folks didn't know about this secret room as it never got too packed. No shortage of booze. Amazing. Chapter 4: Charity Most important - although, seriously, THAT DESSERT ROOM - this is a fundraiser. As I mentioned this entire evening is all for a great cause. On top of the tickets sold, they also have a ton of auction items. I saw a framed/signed photo of a baseball player I've never heard of go for 10k. YES 10,000 for an unknown Yankees player autograph. It's in the 100,000s of dollars raised each year - I'd even say in the millions maybe. And they spread the love to a ton of local charities. It's awesome to see so many generous folks in one place. All around this was one of the best events I've ever been to. I've been to numerous wine and food fests and they all pale in comparison. A huge round of applause to the organizers - as I'm sure this is a ton of work to orchestrate - and their creativity in the design/theme really went leaps and bounds over anything I've ever seen. And of course to my bud who invited me - or should I just call him "future Godfather." FIN.

We spent our time visiting the Japanese gardens. It was excruciatingly hot the day we visited. We were glad for the frequent benches to stop and rest. We enjoyed the beauty of the various gardens. Especially liked the bamboo grove as my husband got to explain to a few folks a bit about bamboo and the ingenuity of his grandfather using bamboo on his farm in Georgia as irrigation conduits. The sign saying don't carve the bamboo next to a carved stalk was ironic... In addition to the various plant gardens, there were the rock gardens, the waterfalls, and the pine forest. Liked seeing the koi fish and turtles. Another highlight was the bonsai exhibit. Throughout the winding path, there were stone lanterns and small wooden huts. At the entrance to the area with the original 1977 museum is a laughing Buddha statue of Hotei, the god of happiness. Smaller than expected, you might miss it the first time you pass by. As a caveat, prepare for lots of walking. Wear comfortable shoes, a hat or carry a parasol, sunglasses. They have a couple areas with steps, but there is an alternative "easier" path for strollers or handicapped. And if possible, come when it's cooler. I'm glad we walked the entire perimeter. But for someone very much out of shape, I know I'll be feeling my achy muscles. I'm glad we got this brief glimpse into the history and culture of the Japanese in South Florida. It's one of the most distinctive tourist attractions in our area.
