Though they've been a firm for over 20 years, they appear to have NO idea what they're doing. They will do their best to keep you as in the dark and confused as possible, then charge you over and over and over when you call and try to get any shred of information about the confusing and life-ruining process you're currently going through. I was in an awful situation and I hoped a lawyer could help me. Jay Ping was definitely not the lawyer to call. Jay does all sorts of delightful things like joke that he's "not a morning person" then show up late for your court hearing with a dry cleaning tag still attached to his suit! I begged him for 6 months to get my ex to send my passport, social security card and birth certificate that he was holding hostage. Jay did nothing. I told him my ex drained the bank account. Jay did nothing the first time, and didn't even call me back when I told him it happened a second time. I told him my pet was sick and I wanted to come back to my house to see her before she died. He did nothing and I never saw her again. I told him I needed things from my house as I had hardly any clothing or belongings. He did nothing. I drove 14 hours by myself to get into my house. He did nothing and I had to call a locksmith. When the divorce was finalized he told me I just needed to print out the judges opinion - 6 pages airing every detail of my personal life - and use that to change my name. The woman at the social security office literally laughed and asked if it was my lawyers first divorce. But none of that is the worst part. The worst part is that he breached attorney client privilege to negotiate on my behalf with my ex-mother in law when I specifically told him that she was not a lawyer and not to be involved. Instead, he charged me to negotiate with her. When I told him not to, he said okay, then did it again charged me more. When I complained about this ethical violation, the firm agreed to refund the money for this violation of my privacy. That was in May. As the mail also flummoxes them, I just received the check today, in March. It is for the wrong amount and made out to the wrong name. Oh well!

They are now charging me over $2,000 just to have them withdraw from my case. This law firm is extremely shady and the only thing they seem to be effective at is sending bills. In a recent case of discrimination against an African-American-owned business here locally, Webber & Thies attorneys took the business' money but then refused proper and basic legal representation even though the client repeatedly provided the attorneys with documentation, relevant case law, witnesses that needed to be deposed, and the policies and procedures for what would constitute a breach of contract in the construction business. Webber & Theis attorneys refused to act on any information or exercise any due diligence on the client's behalf. Instead, they charged exorbitant fees for services the client was not getting. This near-fraudulent business practice should make Webber & Theis a law firm to be absolutely avoided.
