For my last birthday, I was lucky enough to experience two spas, ones of which was Weavers House in Lavenham with my mum. Located directly behind The Swan Inn, it's a lovely rustic building in a very picturesque town.
We were greeted by the usual waft of relaxing incense/beauty products, making everything feel very welcoming and fresh. The shop is also located in the reception so you can come in purely to browse and pick up some gifts if needed. The desk was busy on our arrival so we had a few minutes wait, but the welcome received after made up for it.
The spa itself is quite small, with changing rooms, spa, sauna, outside hot tub and relaxation room, then the treatment tables located upstairs. Once changed, you're required to complete a consultation form, and unfortunately we were left waiting for a little while and started to get restless - we wanted to relax! A member of staff eventually came along and we were left to our own devices until our treatment time.
The outside hot tub was actually quite fun, despite the increasing winds, and the sauna was perfect for drying off afterwards. There are plenty of towels available both in the changing room and outside each room so you don't have to keep anything soggy with you!
Our massages were very relaxing and even included a small glass of sorbet and herbal tea afterwards to help continue the experience. Needless to say we were pretty much good for nothing afterwards!
It's a shame the afternoon tea at the adjoining hotel wasn't up to the same standard but Weavers House certainly gave us the experience we were looking for. read more
