A deposit is an offer of good faith for work yet to be performed to reserve the services of the laborer. We welcomed this company and an appointment was made. Only labor was contacted for, we supplied materials. His company did not complete the installation of 22 sheets of 8x4 drywall. We are willing to pay for work supplied but because of this company's lack of business decorum the owner feels entitled to the full amount. I feel 3,600 is over payment for 22 sheets and 8 hours of work. Also, he disappeared on a 1,200 square foot installation on our third floor leaving the aforementioned ex employee to finish. Hire at your own risk. So you know we renovate houses for a living and having worked with many contractors this company leaves much to be desired on big projects. Small ones he may be fine doing. The owner Adam Had asked me at one point to pay off the entire balance before the job was finished because he was going on vacation to Disney world And wanted to pay his employees before he left. I was not comfortable at doing that. When the issue was brought up with Adam he became very upset.He told his workers to pick up and leave. He didn't need my money and he would never work for that bitch again. Me ! When the conversation continued Adam insinuated I was a racist advised me to stop being a "Karen." That all I wanted to do was take down the successful black man down and bully a black man. The Conversation ended by Adam telling me that he was not afraid of me. They remodeled our entire basement and when there was an issue they were quick to come back and address it. Not once but as many times as it took. Ultimately, you have to decide what works best for your particular project, but I did not want it to go unstated that they make good if there is an issue.
