do not use this company. They have messed up all my emails even though I pay for 3 additional upgrades. They then wasted 1 1/2 on chat just to tell me they will raise a ticket and cause they can't fix it at the moment. I have no emails. I have lost a lot of money and am really peaved. For some reason my website vanished, my emails were gone and I couldn't log onto my account to see why. I figured maybe my domain expired, yet I could not get anyone to confirm that because they couldn't verify who I was because I didn't have access to my email anymore. It has gone around and around in circles with no resolution. I am over it. You can have my domain name I am done. BTW I pay bills if I get them, but I never got one from you guys. Absolutely hopeless. I've been a customer for 25+years. We've stopped receiving emails to our inboxes and run businesses in two states. After 3 weeks they fixed the issue to some of the inboxes but not to the main one. Lodging a support ticket is infuriating as we are communicating with tec support on another planet and the time delay is not in line with Australia regular business hours so we are waiting days...weeks to resolve anything as their suggestions haven't been effective at fixing the issue and having to deal with new people with each request is seriously ridiculous. Rather than fixing the issue they want us to upgrade our email platform/package rather than doing their job! read more

I've been using this service for nearly 3 or 4 years, I've had so many problems with logging in from my PC with what are the correct credentials, and then it does not allow me to log in, only after refreshing several times and having to re-write it in again will it then allow me to log in. Never has worked on safari on my iPhone either. Before this recent update it was slightly user friendly, now they've gone backwards again, very frustrating to navigate, on the dashboard there is too many options when I'm trying to figure out what to click on to proceed, less is better, it's just annoying. Once you're in past the dashboard and actually into your emails it works fine, it shouldn't be that "hard" though. read more

After I purchased 10 new domains they refused to allow me to speak to a manager instead repeating a message from said manager that "according to their Terms & Conditions my complaint did not warrant escalation". I requested multiple times to please speak with the manager and each time was met with the same parrot-like dialogue and refusal to speak with me. Appalling customer service. Actually there was no customer service. Have sought advice, should not have happened and have escalated this issue via relevant external channels. read more

If I could give them 0 stars I would. They turn on 2-year renewals without permission and hope you don't notice. Then they bill for 2 years 9 days before the expiry. Their terms say 7 days. They take support calls (30 minute wait) only to give you a number and send instructions that you don't need over email. Stay away. Nothing like Net Registry that was taken over by these (Web Central) dodgy F's. They billed me on the16/11 and My domains expired on 24/11. Looks like 9 days to me!! They have their facebook REVIEWS turned off, what a surprise!! They even mention their confusing terms below: "Just to clarify as the terms are a little confusing, the "renewal" date is the date the service is due to renew. The "due" date is a month after renewal, by which point if payment hasn't been received services are suspended/deleted. This applies more to services than to domain renewals. You will see the renewal reminders list the auto-renew date of 16/11/22. I can write a small novel on my correspondence back and forth on the last few months between WebCentral and me. So, I'll leave it really short and simple. Wait times are in the 30+ minute range. I've called at 10 a.m. and 10 p.m. and have not found wait times to change. There is also no countdown queue. The time on hold will feel like an eternity because it will be an eternity. The person one speaks with will most likely not be able to sort out your problem. For example, customer service can not handle accounting issues (or vice-versa). One will then be put back on hold of which at this time, there will be a high probability that your call will be disconnected. Wait time will begin again. All issues/requests must be put into a job board. If one calls and the issue/request has not been placed on a job board first, they will tell you to do so and then will be in contact with you. I have not found this to be the case. After placing an issue on the job board, an automatic e-mail is sent which says, "Your request is being reviewed by technical support." I too have not found this to be the case. I find this 'job board' to be unattended to as over seven (yes, seven) of my requests have not been completed (i.e. 1. call me 2. cancel my membership 3. reimburse me 4. send me my authorization codes so that I can leave, etc.). Unfortunately, I didn't do my research on this company but after experiencing the above I started Googling various key phrases like "WebCentral reviews", "Hosting through WebCentral", "WebCentral issues"... and well, it appears I'm not the only one with these complaints including a blog titled, "Reasons not to use Web Central...". I was a customer of this company for more than 17 years my VS number (this is the customer number they allocate you) started with 27, that shows how long ago I started. I started when they were rated as one of the world's best Web hosting companies and I could not say enough good things about them. I recommended and signed up more than 100 other people and business to WebCentral and was proud of it and WebCentral. I really enjoyed the interaction with knowledgeable and talented staff at the Brisbane office and everyone was well trained, available 24/7 and everything got done within minutes not days as is now the case. In most cases now they refer you to someone else, or tell you to ring back the next day or on Monday if it happens to be a weekend (I thought they were a web hosting company in the IT industry, I think they believe they are a retail shop selling smoke and mirrors) Then Melbourne IT took them over. I have spent more than 30 years in the IT industry (mostly as a system administrator or in a management roll) I can categorically say without any hesitation or doubt that WebCentral must be in the bottom 10 hosting companies in Australasia, if not the world. I could easily fill 10 pages of things that they have stuffed up but I am sure anyone who is thinking of using them has checked the web to find out all their short comings. All I can say is whatever you do don't use them you will regret it forever. The comments about wait times quoted by other contributors in this review are generous. Most times you contact them (if you get through) you only get someone who goes through the parrot sheet asking the same old questions and does not really know what the answers are. Only level 2 or 3 staff have some knowledge but they only seem to work Monday to Friday 9 to 5. Here is a list of a few things that have happened since Melbourne IT took over 1.. Deleted my whole account instead of not renewing a totally separate Domain name that was not required to be renewed (Took two weeks to restore the account, they lost all historical emails and the original web site, which I happened to have a backup of, they did not) 2.. When new back end system came on line it could not support exchange so web site was on one set of servers and emails on another required two separate VS numbers to manage site 3.. Have been given more than 4 VS numbers due to stuff ups 4.. Due to software error when they changed systems they withdrew many thousands of dollars on automatic debit which took more than 3 months to recover (was overseas on holidays at the time and they drained my bank account). 5.. Average time to address or reply to submitted jobs is about 3 days and not once in the last 5 years has a job been fixed first time or within 3 days 6.. WebCentral level 2 and 3 only seem to work 9 to 5 Monday to Friday, had to wait 3 days (fault was on a Friday afternoon) to get account working again due to WebCentral error 7... The user interface CMS is one of the most confusing and un-intuitive applications you will ever come across (I have been a computer programmer for more than 20 years and still have issues with its reliability, layout and logic. The contractors that wrote this must bear at least 40% of the issues faced by WebCentral. WebCentral should never have approved this version (Called MCam) for release (at least the old version worked). Am guessing the penny pinching and inexperience of the mangers of Melbourne IT did not know how to address this issue or had the balls to face it and fix it In summary, the staff, especially the technical staff and management at the old WebCentral knew what customer service and reliably were, for more than a decade they delivered one the best experiences to the public and to both small and large business in the Asia region. Melbourne IT management totally stuffed that company, they lost all the great staff, ideas and goodwill (I hoped they paid millions for it and the old WebCentral staff and management got paid handsomely). Melbourne IT then decimated all the systems that were built up and proven over many years and replaced them with unreliable unusable and unfriendly procedures. They moved support offshore so you were not dealing with people who even knew which state you were in. I got a number for some support people in the Brisbane and Sydney support areas that you could use at very late hours (they were old WebCentral staff) every single time my issues got fixed immediately. Sadly, that does not work now it seems they have left for a better place to work (don't blame them one bit). I cannot stress strongly enough to anyone thinking of using this company to take a serious look at their track record, reviews available on the net and comments like mine and others on this site before committing. read more

I'm with you Jenny B!! Worst Customer Service I have ever encountered....even worse than Telstra! They are a minus rating as far as I am concerned. Wait times of 40-50 minutes not uncommon and that's just to get onto their 1st level support who are absolutely useless! Then if I'm lucky I'll get their 2nd level support before I get cut off because I have been waiting for over an hour!!!! OMG the frustration - sometimes all I want is a password reset and this is what you have to endure!! Of course the easy thing would be if their Mission Control worked. However, if I log a service request through here I may as well go on a weeks vacation because that's about the length of time it takes them to look at requests and get back to you (if at all). Many many times I have complained to their GM Customer Service who assures me that they are working on these issues, but you know what after putting up with this for the past 3-4 years I really don't think its going to get any better... read more

The business has many bad reviews on many sites, mostly since they become part of MelbourneIT and unethical company. We have had some many problems and thought we had go away from them and after over a year they sent a debt collection agency to chase a bill of less than $50 for money that is billed after we left. Don't touch this company of the parent company MelbourneIT, it takes forever to get ride of them after they make you life miserable. read more

It's ironic to be put on hold for 20minutes when you are ringing to cancel your service with this company. The 24/7 service commitment is a lie, yes someone answers the phone but they can't help you and on the multiple times we have called we are just told to ring back in business hours.
