Is this the worst bank in the world? No, I couldn't say that it is. There are pain points like…read moretheir low interest rates that are an industry-wide issue. But there is otherwise a lot of room for improvement. They advertise on being community oriented, and as a customer I suppose that's true, as long as what you need is during their bankers business hours. It's not terribly convenient if you work those same hours unless you want to barrel over first thing on a Saturday morning. They don't always open new windows even if there's a line of customers, there's no online assistance to speak of - I emailed through their online banking system to report a lost debit card on a Sunday, they emailed back to tell me to call and otherwise took no action. They began charging fees on their savings account which took me by surprise, and I was told I should have known by reading the fine print in a contract I signed two years prior. From a customer service perspective, it would have been greeted much better if they had put in an automatic reminder because, you know, a lot of things happen in two years that have also required my attention. But generally, things are status quo and unexciting.

On Friday I asked my boyfriend to make the 35 minute drive from our home to deposit $100 into my account. He had to go inside the bank because there are no ATMs outside that he could make this deposit through. Anyway, he walked inside and immediately all eyes were on him. No one greeted him just stares. He went up to the teller explaining that he would like to make a deposit into my account, he had my info in hand. Rose , the teller told him he could not deposit money because he was not an account holder. My boyfriend went on to repeat himself that it was a deposit and again Rose told him he could not make a deposit. Confused he simply said ok thank you. Moments later I get a phone call from the teller and she says that a man came in wanting to make a deposit into my account. She was shaken, her voice was cracking, I agreed and said yes. She said she did not allow him to make the deposit even though she said he did want make a deposit. I asked her why she didn't "allow" him to. She said " I dont know why, I didn't know what he wanted well he did say he wanted to make a deposit but but but he didn't have any cash in his hand." RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!! So, I am warning all other people who do not look like Rose to beware she may not grant you banking services because she doesn't know why. I KNOW WHY!

I have now banked with TMTFCU for several years and have been pleasantly surprised that their policies are very straightforward and they practice their policies. They always process deposits before debits. If the account becomes overdrawn, the customer is given 24 hours to bring the account current. They go out of the way to work with you if there are problems. An overdrawn account gets one overdraft charge regardless of the number of checks processed. This bank is so far above every other bank I have dealt with over my entire fifty years of banking. I cannot say enough good things about this bank. They are very customer oriented.

If you don't write exactly on the back of the check "Mobile Deposit Only At TSB" your deposit will…read morebe rejected by the idiots that work here. You can not write anything different. Deposit only At TSB is not sufficient. Seriously you are the only one I bank with that has this strict of an issue with my checks. Day 1 Stop at the bank to inquire what documents would be needed to open up an account for our…read moredaughter. Day 2 Arrive at appointment to open an account for our daughter with the documents that were recommended. Turns out we did not have the correct wording on documents and made two trips to city hall to get the correct one. Day 3 Arrive for another appointment with the documents exactly as the bank required. AND AFTER WASTING SEVERAL HOURS OF OUR TIME, WE ARE DECLINED TO BE ABLE TO OPEN UP AN ACCOUNT FOR OUR DAUGHTER!!! ( We told them what the account was for (Social security) and brought the documents that they required. Only after they declined us and we mentioned it, did they say that we needed to visit social security first and open up a rep payee account!)
