We ended up hiking about 6 miles in nice shaded area on the trails. Some rocks and roots, so you must be careful. Relatively flat with a few small hills. The big downside is there are no trail markers or signs, so having a person in your group that is familiar with the area is necessary. We had two people that knew the trails, so zero markings was not a problem for us. Great outdoor area. Currently (4/23) there is construction of new water treatment plant along the river. Not many people here, so is sort of a hidden gem. Every one in our group enjoyed the hike. Lots of free parking. Restrooms available, but they were so-so inside. Definitely worth a stop. Also CRNRA Jones Bridge unit is across the river for additional hiking trails and is very well marked for easier navigation.

What I loved most was seeing all of the deer in plain sight. What I loved least was hearing our coonhound barking at all the deer relentlessly. The only complaint is that the bathrooms were absolutely disgusting. Also, we like to let our dog go for a swim off leash which is not normally an issue. However, off one of these trails, she jumped from a steep embankment and wasn't able to jump back up. This was really our fault for not checking first whether she would be able to get out of the water. Thankfully a few of the passing kayakers stopped to help us. Parts of the trail back up into people's backyards which is also kind of strange, so you don't necessarily feel as though you've been transported to somewhere remote. But all in all it's a fun place to walk and the trail is not too challenging.

Following is my reaction to our visit: We made an appointment to meet with John to check out his wedding venue. He actually described it as a tour but it turned out to be one dirty, unsightly room with unmatched furniture and a ridiculous set up. It is the type of place that you pull up to and keep going because once you see the location, you don't need to see the rest. First of all, this place is in a very run down area of town, with limited parking. It is a building that is connected to other businesses so it does not stand alone. The "chapel" really is just one room that has some chairs and cheap decorations placed throughout. I don't care what kind of budget is involved, this would NEVER be an option. You would be much better off just getting married outdoors in a more personalized setting. To sum it up: No Additional Thoughts: When you are considering the venue, also consider the person who will be taking your photos because oral and physical presentation does matter and this is the person you will have to see and interact with on your wedding day. Make sure that when you are looking at photos, you are seeing the complete picture, (not just photos taken of the stage, but from the stage), so you will know exactly what you will be looking at during the ceremony. You want to be okay with the entire room as there should be no distractions on your special day. Before you get excited about the photos you see, verify that they are actually taken at the site because they may be taken at another venue and will not be relevant to you. Be aware of the general area and make sure that it is safe, and has convenient and ample parking. Contrary to the what you should expect from a venue called "Love to Dream", our experience was an absolute nightmare. The venue is fairly new. It switched owners in Oct 2023. This new venue owner was unprofessional, quality of work is low because he tries to run everything himself. We went to observe a wedding and he was literally pausing and playing the ceremony music from his phone. Also wasn't sure if he checked with the couple if they were okay with us being there. He will get things done, but it won't be the best quality work (compared to other all inclusive venues we looked at). We made the mistake of booking this place first before looking at other venues. The prep kitchen is dirty - we found a tray of moldy chicken in their hotbox that had probably been there for a couple of weeks, which ultimately made us reconsider if we wanted to continue working with them. We were touring the barn with a separate coordinator that we hired because he was unpleasant to communicate with, and even she was appalled by the mold. The prep area in the barn is also unorganized and unused equipment are not stowed away from the view of guests - it's just sitting to the side of the barn. We were so fed up with his unprofessionalism and dirty conditions that we would rather lose our deposit than to keep dealing with him, so we terminated the contract. He didn't seem to care why because he already seemed fed up with us. We booked them 7 months before our wedding but he didn't reach out about anything by the time we were 3 months out. Based on my exchanges with him, he seemed to not want to answer my questions and only cared about his bottom line. As a first time bride, I just had questions about how things would be run and more clarification on what he would be responsible for. He was obviously tired of my questions said he wanted to get on a final call because he "kinda didn't wanna answer the same questions" (his actual words and that was not the case). Those who have planned a wedding before know that there's so many moving pieces that you can't possibly have just one call to go over everything. And based on his demeanor, I definitely couldn't trust that everything would get done with high professionalism and quality. The venue owner doesn't care about customer satisfaction, and you will definitely get what you pay for. I should have paid attention to the red flags. Before I booked him, we spoke over the phone about his package details, and at one point, he casually mentioned that he was okay terminating the business relationship if things didn't work out. This should have been a sign to avoid working with him. Strongly advise to avoid this place at all costs unless you don't care about quality, cleanliness, or customer satisfaction. The venue owner's lack of support, unprofessional behavior, and disregard for food safety make it clear that this is not a reliable or safe option for hosting events. Luckily we found a new venue and are so glad we didn't continue with this one. Our day turned out beautifully.

I called his office in the afternoon, and he married us that same night at 8 PM. My husband and I were smitten with each other and wanted to tie the knot in a spec8al yet unassuming way. I want to thank Rev. Thomas for patently waiting an hour for us to drive to his location. We were so nervous. We arrived with little fanfare - no rings, nothing special, just the two of us. I want to thank you for making our ceremony special. It was truly all about us and our commitment to one another. October 20,2022, is a day we will forever hold dear to our hearts!
