Wee Care Chula Vista is such a blessing to my family!! I was looking for a preschool that would help my daughter thrive in preparation of TK/Kindergarten. I was also looking for a safe, clean & loving environment for her to be at full time, 5 days per week, 8-10 hours per day, so I could rest assured each day...knowing she was in the BEST hands. After meeting the Director Mrs. Gracie & getting a tour of the facility, I just knew this was the place for us! Gracie is the most warm, welcoming, nurturing woman I have ever met. She immediately helped my daughter get comfortable while I toured. She is a natural with the kids. The entire staff is this way! Gracie knows how to hire the best of the best. All of the teachers know my daughter and greet her each day, sometimes with hugs. They do this with ALL of the kids that attend the school. Your child is not just a number, the staff knows everyone by name. It is by far the best feeling when you drop-off and pick-up! My daughter has learned so much in the last 3 months of being there. The daily schedule is so organized and the fact that they stick to the agenda so well amazes me. The teachers have postings to show you what your child learned each day, what they ate etc. The school also has amazing after-hours celebrations/parties for holidays and other fun things! They work SO HARD to keep the students and parents happy. It feels like my second family when I arrive. I am always welcomed as well, as the parent. Another thing I love is if you have any concerns, Mrs. Gracie is so easy to talk to. And understanding. She doesn't get mad or offended. She simply finds a solution and treats you just the same afterwards. That is such an important attribute when it comes to your child's needs and your expectations as a parent. They even allow prospective customers to do drop-in tours etc. They have nothing to hide because they are always on-task doing amazing things for our children. My almost 3 year old started here in spring 2018. We'd checked out quite a few other places (other establishments and in-home daycares) and even considered a nanny, but nothing ever felt right, or fell thru last minute. Things were starting to get desperate for the time we needed care for our kid, and we finally found this place. As soon as we walked in, my husband & I thought it felt like "us". We got along with the director, Miss Gracie, immediately. We explained our complicated situation (full time for ONLY a month, with a consideration of continuing part time in future if we were happy with how things were going), and she was understanding (lol, she even knew why - because my parents were going on vacay to the Philippines). We toured the establishment, and our son did not want to leave - a great sign! My son had a bit of a hard transition into preschool, and still doesn't love being dropped off. Not a surprise, as I was the same way. But, I dropped in to observe him quite a few times in the beginning, and saw how much fun he was having. That, in addition with the reports from his teachers the first couple weeks, made me confident that we'd chosen the right place. He immediately started speaking quite a bit more. He's now more social at playgrounds as well, instead of just hanging back and playing by himself. He's learned SO MUCH in his short time there. While he still doesn't love being dropped off at school, he talks about school often at home, about what his teachers taught him, and what he did that week with his friends. After the 4 week full time stint, we decided to keep our son there twice a week. It's a great balance for us to be able to provide our son much valued time with my parents and preschool. My husband & I are so thrilled to have found Wee Care in Chula Vista. I don't know if we can express how happy and grateful we are with everyone that works here. I will take my time with this review because I have a lot of good things to say!! My daughter has been going here since she was 2 1/2 she is 5 now. All the teachers are wonderful and have always accommodated. My daughter has special needs and they really focus on parents individual care plans. It is always clean and disinfected & their prices are affordable. Mrs.Gracie does a great job hearing out concerns and resolving any conflicts ! Her office is always open !!! My daughter has been going to Wee Care for 6 months now and we love it. It took her a while to "find her groove" but the staff and Ms. Gracie were very supportive and worked with us until we found a good fit for her in terms of the right classroom for her. I am so thankful we found this program. A friend told us about Wee Care and said their family loved it. I live in Point Loma and drive my daughter down to this location everyday. I looked at schools around our house and a few in other areas and no one gave me the good feeling that Wee Care did. We visited this school in our search for pre-schools. It was a bit dark inside some of the classrooms and hallways. Some classes were a bit crowded. The place gave me a feel of a "puppy mill" with the way the little ones looking at you as you passed by looking in their classrooms. Students didn't seem engaged for happy to be there. The halls and walls were decorated with lots of child work, collages, projects, assignments, etc. read more

Established in 1983 in a historic landmark house, Wee Care Chula Vista has been rated one of the Top 3 preschool in Chula Vista. Located off the 54 freeway, it is conveniently situated and it offers great hours. It opens at 6am and closes at 6:30pm, Monday through Friday. It is a preschool, more than just a daycare, meaning your kid will be in a class with kids the same age and they will learn academics. My 3 1/2 yo son has been going to Wee Care for almost a year and has made tremendous progress since he started. He actually looks forward to going to school! The schedule is flexible so you may have your kid one to five days a week and drop off and pick up are on your timeline. Breakfast and lunch are provided as well as snacks. They often have special events for holidays so parents get to join their kids for Santa's workshop or Halloween fest. It feels very safe as they is a ticket system with fingerprints to drop off and pick up your kid. The place is spacious with many classrooms and play areas outside. Prices are fair and based on my experience and other places we checked out before choosing Wee Care, it's no surprise it's rated in the top 3 preschools in Chula Vista. read more

I'm an elementary teacher in Chula Vista public schools and two of my children have been through Wee Care and my third is currently in junior kindergarten there. I put them in as soon as I could at 18 months and they went until they were old enough to go to public kindergarten, so our family has been part of Wee Care for about ten years now!! Wee Care is the best. It's the most affordable daycare/preschool around. I wanted my kids to be prepared for public school and home daycare wasn't cutting it. This one has academics as well as art, music, computers, and lots of play time, plenty of opportunities to learn how to be social and interact with different kids. The staff is friendly, helpful, firm. My husband and I have known a few of them many years, and they are just awesome people. The hours 6:00-6:30 pm are great, especially if you have a really early or late schedule or if your schedule fluctuates. They serve breakfast, lunch, and snacks. They work with families who are on special diets like ours and it's never a problem. My most favorite thing about Wee Care is that there's always so much student art work up and decorations involving the season or learning topics. Being a teacher, I look for that stuff, I look to see how the kids are treated, if there is a balance between structure and freedom, academics and arts. My husband and I have every confidence that our daughters have gotten (and our son is getting) THE BEST care and preschool education they can, short of US giving it to them. I stopped by today after work around 6 pm the preschool is tucked away on a hill very hidden. It looks like a very old large house. The inside is very odd... narrow hall ways the toddler room is all the way in the back. The carpet is extremely worn out dirty and old all through out the place, it had a really bad smell but i guess thats normal for daycares? Seems like there is a lot of kids in one room from what i saw. The teachers where older hispanic ladies. They seemed decent but im still on the fence anput taking my daughter there the location just doesnt really convince me. read more

My two Boys attended Wee Care from 2013 to 2016. I recently needed a letter to prove that they attended and I called the Preschool with my request. The Director, Gracie, picked up the phone and it felt like talking to an old friend. We caught up and she listened to my stories about the boys now 9 and 11. After 4 years, Wee Care still feels like home. I remember how much the staff really loves and cares for your kids. The boys still talk about the Fall/Halloween Carnival at "our preschool on the hill." We truly loved it there. 100% recommended to every parent in the South Bay. read more

My son attended this school back in 2012 the first day he was very excited. After that he cried every day. School felt cold and not kid friendly. One time picking him up during nap I heard a kid crying teacher or aid was dragging kid to mat, as soon as she saw me she dropped to the floor. I didn't think nothing of it or report it since all the teachers there could hear the child. Now looking back very unprofessional it's been a while so I can't remember the ladies face or name. I love this preschool! My daughter just turned 3 and she had only been with family at home while my husband and I went to work. I had recently placed my daughter in a "montessori" school only to find that they expected her to be fully adjusted to preschool by day 2. After that experience, finding Wee Care was a Godsend. I emailed Miss Gracie for a tour of Wee Care and she took the time to speak with me about my daughter and her needs, and showed me the entire facility. The children were happy and well cared for. They even provide all the food for the kids! The classes were organized in age appropriate groups. Miss Gracie assured me that my daughter would adjust. They sent her home with an adjustment report each day showing her progress. They worked wonderfully with her and now on my daughter's 5th day she did not cry at all and she participated very well! I love being able to go to work and know that my daughter is in great hands getting learning and social experience. She enjoys their food and activities. I love that they have family-style lunches. My daughter comes home in a great mood on the days she goes to Wee Care and I intend to have her attend until it's time to enroll in preschool. read more

First I would like to say that Wee Care Chula Vista is AMAZING facility with AMAZING teachers! If I could give Gracie Madrigal and her team of incredibly motivated teachers 10 stars I would. We have been apart of the Wee Care Chula Vista family since 2010 beginning with our oldest son all the way through our youngest. The Wee Care team has made my children's preschool experience extremely memorable not just for them but for me as well. Last weeks " Grad Week" was the highlight of my week. The weeks celebrations included pajama day, sports day, a carnival, a teddy bear picnic, and a prom. It was truly a week to remember. I was in awe by the work, energy, and effort the Wee Care Team put into the event leading up to graduation.. The Wee Care staff did not disappoint. It was truly impressive. I can am so excited about the ceremony. We will be attending my youngest son's graduation ceremony tonight. Ms. Gracie and her team go all out for this event, not just for the kids but for the parent's too. No school compares the graduation ceremony at Wee Care it is such a memorable experience. My son has enjoyed all the well thought out and organized events that Wee Care has offered from Dr. Seuss day to the annual fall festival as well as 1,000 more in between . As a parent I have enjoyed the "Parent's Night Out" opportunities that Wee Care periodically offers. Wee Care was an educational building stone for our oldest son who is now 8. He left Wee Care and entered kindergarten knowing 90% of his sight words, writing his first and last name, being able to recite and write his entire alphabet , and know all of his shapes and colors required for kindergarten. The teachers at Wee Care helped our son foster a love for learning that he still has today. He will be entering 3rd grade reading at a 5th grade level and doing math at a 4th grade level. Again I would like to thank the staff at Wee Care. Ms. Gracie thank you so much for your leadership and communication. Thank for responding to my 100 emails from asking what's for lunch to resending a tax form. She always has a positive attitude and solution to every possible issue. I would like to thank Ms. Claudia who taught both of our boys and showed them nothing but patience and love. And Thank you to Ms. Llanelly who says Good Morning and have a Good Day EVERY SINGLE DAY with a smile on her face. It the little things that make this place so Amazing. My son had gone here back in 2005 & I was very unhappy w/ the services. I noticed he was very quiet & wouldn't say good bye to the teacher. There were a few times I picked him up & he was all wet from peeing on himself. Later we were notified that the teacher was let go because another child had told the parents she was hit. I asked my son later on after we were notified if she had hit him & he said yes. I told him to show me what she did & he placed his hand over his cheek. That B*** had the nerve to slap my child! I pulled my child out & placed him at St. Michael Preschool. He is still @the school where he's much safer. read more

My grandson came here on trial basis... Dishonesty...Not eating the meals and not documenting in daily report and leaving my grandson in soiled diaper for 3 hours. Dropped him off around 9am picked him at 11 still in the same diaper. Unhappy with services he only stayed for roughly 3 weeks max. Place is run down, dirty carpets. My son started WeeCare when he was 18 months old. From the first day there, he was so happy. He thrives and has grown so much in the last 4 years. He will "graduate" in June, and is more ready for kindergarten than I could have ever hoped; thanks to the wonderful teachers. The teachers are a great mix of youthful and experienced; they are patient, loving and fun. It's an amazing atmosphere with great holiday functions, and even career day for the bigger kiddos. We have been part of the Wee family for almost a year and to watch our daughter get excited for school is the best feeling as parents. The teachers are all very nice and take pride in providing the proper education for all the children. Our daughters first week was a transitional period, but Ms. Gracie would provide us updates and photos to ensure us that our daughter was playing and happy. When we approached week two, our daughter was comfortable and no longer crying during drop off. Each teacher makes it a point to know each child and that is comforting to know they take the time out to know all the children by name. Let me start by saying that I read the bad reviews here before checking this school out. I was a little scared, but still went on the tour. When I got there and spoke with Gracie the director and she showed me around I was shocked! This place was nothing like these bad reviews described. I am so glad I went and checked it out for myself! Here is my review: My son is 3 years old has been attending Wee Care preschool for over 1 year now. This place is amazing and I have been extremely happy with the service and attention they give my child. He is always coming home singing new songs, new art projects to hang on the walls and tells me all about how much fun he has on the playground. He has two snacks a day and a lunch. Their food menu is sent out once a month, so I like that I get to tell him what he is having that day (Pizza day is his favorite). I only had one incident when we came home with a small dipper rash. My son has very sensitive skin. I immediately sent the director an email and she responded that she will have a staff meeting and be sure this never happens again. Sure enough, it never did. I started potty training my son at 2 1/2 and they asked me what I was doing so they can keep it going at school, I told them I would ask him every hour if he has to go. They were very good at keeping that up during school days for me. Sure enough he is now fully potty trained. I am so glad I have my baby boy here. I strongly recommend everyone give them a try, and I am certain you will feel the same way too. read more

My sons have been enrolled in this school for almost a year now and they love it, I LOVE it. I've seen tremendous growth on both of them. The staff is extremely friendly and loving towards the children. My eldest used to be at a different preschool last year and he hated it, he would cry every day but in this school he is happy. For the longest time when I'd pick him up he'd say "Mommy, I love my new school." I immediately felt comfortable leaving them in able and caring hands. Size- I was a little scared because it is a big school and they have many classes but on the first day that we showed up everybody knew my sons' names already and were very welcoming and caring towards them. Plus the size of the school did not intimidate my sons at all. My eldest, on his first week there proudly took me around the school to show me he knew his way around. Activities-They have a lot of activities during the year for parents and the children. They have a Halloween carnival where they have different activities in all the different classes. They even fed us FOR FREE. They have Santa's Workshop where the students can go to every room to make ornaments. They have very organized parties for the children to celebrate special occasions. For graduation they have a little prom and caps and gowns plus more activities. Extracurricular- They have for a small fee, outside extracurricular activities:Cheer, Gymnastics, Sports etc. One of mys sons does the gymnastics one and he loves it. Locale- Yes, it is old. Yes, it is run down. It's a historic building! Plus we all know how much construction costs. They try to keep it clean and visually stimulating for the children and parents. The place is covered with the students' work that changes constantly. Curriculum- My 2 year old began to speak a lot more and in complete sentences, plus he started to be mindful of his manners a lot more. They do a lot of art and singing and much more. My eldest can identify and count the numbers 1-20, he can even identify the colors when they are written out, his cutting skills have improved. He can identify the letters of the alphabet and so, so much more that I'm confident he is ready for kindergarten. Tuition-Fairly priced. Plus the food is included. You don't need to pack any food at all. The have breakfast, a morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack and evening snack. The place is open from 6am to 6:30pm. I will miss my sons' teachers. They are the best! We've all grown fondly of Ms. Llanely and Ms. Norma. Even Ms. Maria, she works in the cafeteria. I am very happy that my sons are at this school. Best choice I made. read more

Wee Care Preschool has been wonderful for our child- emotionally, mentally and socially. She raves about her teacher and I constantly hear, "I love my teacher." There is no higher compliment from a young child than one that expresses unconditional love. Our daughter is excited to learn and be with other children. She loves school so much she has asked to go everyday. Not only is our daughter building her social networking skills she will also be more than ready for kindergarten. In the few short months that she has been attending Wee Care Preschool, she has learned how write letters and is starting to read. My daughter went to this Weecare in Chula Vista for 3 years and I was so happy with the care and teachers, that now my 3 year old son is going there. Sadly Mr. Susy passed away, but I remmember her as a very caring person. Im happy to hear Mr. Gracie is now the director, who use to be a teached for my daughter, she is great and so loving and I also love the fact that she is bilingual. :) read more

Where do I begin... Wee Care Preschool in Chula Vista is AMAZING!!!! I am so genuinely grateful for the love, compassion, and professionalism that I experience every single day at this school. First off, The Director, Mrs. Gracie, is AWESOME and very involved with the kids. The entire staff really is amazing and really cares for each and every child. It is a very safe facility with a secure check-in and check-out system and are well staffed. The curriculum is great and they put together great projects so the kids learn while having fun. They are very understanding to the needs of your child and are very good at communicating with parents and working with your child. They make my son feel very loved and important. They provide great meals and snacks that are included with your monthly fee. They provide a monthly calendar of daily meals as well as monthly events. Their events are great and the kids love it!! The pricing is fair, especially for this area. Availability is also great and works well for most schedules. They do not take long extending breaks like other facilities and are closed only 6 days out of the year. I am very sad this year we are coming to the end of our time at Wee Care and I cannot thank Ms. Gracie and the wonderful teachers at Wee Care enough for showing my son so much love and care throughout the past two years. My daughter started goin there when she was 2 and she loved it. She knows every teacher and always says Hi and bye to them wheneever i drop/pick her up. She always seems to come home with new songs and tells me stories about what she learned. Had to pull her out coz i was approved with headstart. All in all i would definitely recommend to anyone. Our daughter went there for close to 6 months. The director Ms. Suzy is dishonest. While my daughter was attending this school I noticed a few shady characters in the building directly next door on the right when you drive into the parking lot. I asked what type of facility is that and she said she didn't know. I did a little research on my own and found out it is a sober living halfway house. When I asked her about it she then said there are scheduled so those individuals are not outside at the same time the children outside during recess. Amazing how she didn't know what type of facility at was and now there's this miraculous schedule. Another incident was they were having outside painted. I picked up my daughter early from school one day she was on the playground with her class when I walked out there every various men walking around the building in painters uniforms. I asked Susie if they had run background checks on these individuals who are in the same vicinity as our children. She then told me know they had not however they would be paining after school hours because of another parent had complained to the licensing board. Another incident is there slide was broken however there was nothing to deter the children from getting on this broken slide other than children, who mind you are in preschool, knowing it's broken and not to get on. When I asked about that she said they are not allowed to put yellow tape or board on it due to the licensing board and I asked why is it still accessible to the children and she didn't have an answer. In the six-month my daughter was there they were cited twice by the licensing board. My daughter showed me how the boys went to the bathroom she was three there is no way she should know how boys go to the bathroom other than her being able to see it at the school. Another teacher took her gold. And my daughter continued to tell me that the teacher took it when I asked she pretended she didn't know what I was talking about. To this day almost a year later my daughter will continue to say That particular teacher took her earring. I would not recommend place whatsoever. read more

I'm really surprised that mostly the negative reviews have been published for this preschool / private kindergarten. This school has made a continuous effort to do what is necessary to make sure that any concerns from its starting years have been corrected. I am a credentialed and working educator and both of my children have had great experiences at Wee Care in Chula Vista. My daughter went through the Kindergarten program as a junior kinder and graduated ready to start first grade even though she was a year younger. The class size of 12 children or less to each teacher surely helped with this. If I had only looked at the reviews shown, I would have been discouraged, but thankfully I didn't, and I looked into it myself. The school has grown to the point where they have hired more teachers due to increased enrollment, mostly by word of mouth. When my daughter graduated I was impressed to see that the large auditorium of the Scottish Rite Center in Mission Valley had standing room only from all of the parents and family who came to support the Wee Care kiddies ( in their graduation caps and gowns) from both Wee Care locations. Did I mention how they have activity / craft nights, Santa pictures, leprechaun hunts, and a ton of other theme based year round special activities for the children. Now that my toddler is enrolled, he enjoys going so much that he was frustrated when he had a nasty cold and had to stay home. The security system requires a code to enter and a finger print check in for extra security. The director Ms. Gracie is a warm and welcoming person who genuinely LIKES children, this is not just a job for her. Lastly, the owners stay in communication with the parents via email and welcome suggestions in addition to providing the menu and monthly educational calendar of your child's schedule. Like with anything else, education and the little details of raising a conscientious, kind child begins at home. However, while you are away, Wee Care in Chula Vista does a darn good job. My son has been going to Wee Care since he was 18 months old. We have used both Clairemont and Chula Vista and both schools have been exemplary. They have a diverse age range in the teaching staff. They also put on great holiday events and bring in parents to talk to the older kids about their work. My son will be starting Kindergarten this year and I can tell you he not only knows all his letters and numbers all the way to 100+, but he also reads on his own. The teachers understand when kids are just being kids and when their actions go beyond being kids and parents need to be notified. My Daguhter has attended Wee Care since she was an infant and now getting ready to graduate from the preschool. I really love this school they have taken such great care of my daughter. They not only have the best Director and teacher's that anyone can ask for; they all truly care about you and your child. The ciriculum for the kids is outstanding; I checked all the schools and daycare's around and Wee Care offered the best, my daughter had to test into her kidergarten and they stated she did above expectations which shows how awesome the teachers are here. read more

I am surprised like MB B. that their are not better reviews of this Daycare/Preschool. I have had my Daughter at Weecare since 2011 when she was 19 months old. This will be her last year because Sept 2015 she will start Kindergarten. It will be so hard for us to leave because we love this place so much and they are like family as far as I'm concerned. The teachers are all amazing with the kids, even the kids who are a little more challenging, like my Daughter...lol They are always letting me know how my Daughter is doing and trying to work with me to help my Daughter do well in class. The Director of the Chula Vista location Ms. Gracie is amazing and works so hard and is so great with the kids and the parents to help them in any way she can. She loves kids and you can tell. Always going above and beyond for the kids and parents. I was worried about finding day care for my Daughter because I know some places just have the kids and don't really teach them anything. They are just watching them to get paid and not teaching them much. NOT HERE they are very involved. My Daughter feels loved and cared about here at this location. They are like a second family for us. She has learned so much and they have helped my Daughter get ready for Kindergarten. Weecare has also helped her learn to socialize well with other kids. I would recommend the Chula Vista location to any of my friends in a heart beat. For the reviews who give ok or bad reviews (First look at how long ago they where done) (these are isolated situation that had to do with a bad teacher and that can happen any where you take them) Weecare puts the safety and welfare of the children above all else! A huge thing for me was they have an all female staff. Places that love and care for your kids and can be trusted to do what's best for your child are few and far between in my book. The school itself has wonderful things to offer they have activity /craft nights, Santa pictures, Easter Egg hunts, Parents night out/ Potlucks and a ton of other theme based year round special activities for the children. They do school pictures twice a year and they have always come out amazing and are very affordable. (Will miss them for that too) The school has grown to the point where they have hired more teachers due to increased enrollment, mostly by word of mouth mind you. Wee Care in Chula Vista does, as far as I'm concerned an amazing job. Weecare is affordable and are conveniently located. LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! read more
