It's with a heavy heart that we are saying goodbye as he is starting Kindergarten in the fall. The directors/owners, Miss Ramona and Miss Elizabeth, are a mother-daughter team running a family business and it makes a HUGE difference. You can tell they both love children, are at Wee Care every single day overseeing everyone, and that Wee Care really truly cares about your child. They are NOT just another faceless corporate daycare that only cares about your money and trust me, from my search there are unfortunately a lot of those options in Chicago. We've been so impressed with what our son has learned, the adorable projects he has made over the years, outings and activities offered (they even offer an optional affordable sports/fitness class one day a week during school time too!). I 100% agree with all of the other comments saying that you feel like family and feel secure that your child/children will be loved and cared for. Went for a tour. The place reeked of urine and a lady was just screaming at this innocent CHILD. Tour was cut short because I would never leave my child with someone who thinks it is okay to yell at children when parents are not present. Because I can guarantee no one will yell at my daughter in front of me. This was not the regular yelling. She was screaming at this poor child. I was vivid for the parent. read more

Our son attended WeeCare for around nine months, three months to one year, and it has been a wonderful experience (we moved away from Chicago otherwise he would have continued). The entire process, from enrollment to withdrawal, was very smooth and most importantly, the communication (especially during the coronavirus pandemic) from WeeCare was exceptional. The teachers were all lovely and we always felt confident and comfortable that our son was well cared for while at daycare. Wee Care is absolutely incredible! We transitioned our daughter from a nanny share to daycare/preschool when she was about 1 yr old. I am so glad that we found Wee Care! Elizabeth and her mother are so kind and compassionate. The teachers are fun, wise and so great at what they do! Our daughter felt so comfortable and would talk nonstop about loving school. We recently had to move to another state and leaving Wee Care was honestly the hardest part of leaving Chicago. That's how much we loved it there. We love Wee Care! My daughter attended there from 18 months to 3.5 years old, and my son started in the newly opened infant room at 3 months and is still attending there at 2.5 years old. The teachers are nice and truly care for each child. The directors, Elizabeth and Ramona (mother - daughter), are so wonderful and friendly. If there's ever any issue, they address it with kindness and compassion. What I like best is that they are very flexible and will work with you (within reason) to meet your needs. Whenever I pick up my son now, I ask if he had fun at school today, and he always says "yeah!" (And sometimes he doesn't even want to leave). We have sent our two children to Wee Care on Pine Grove for the past 2.5 years and can not say enough good things! My daughter started at 20 months and my son later at 3 months, and they have received the most wonderful care in each phase of their lives. The owners and teachers have provided a fun and educational environment that fosters creativity, learning and inclusion. My four-year-old daughter comes home with new lessons, Spanish words, games and songs daily and the school fosters a real sense of community among parents and students. During the COVID-19 lockdown, they were very communicative and re-opened with strict policies and procedures in place. They have continued to ensure safety protocols are strictly followed that made us feel safe sending our children back into their care. My son has been attending Wee Care since he was 18 months old and is now 4-1/2. I have always been very impressed with the knowledge he has gained through the program. The class sizes are small and I have always felt like he has recieved adequate attention. We needed a transitional place for my toddler for 7 weeks and could not have picked a better place!. The owners are one of the most understanding people and parents in the world. The teacher for 2-2.5 yrs old is terrific. This was my son's first daycare experience and as you know, the transitions are hard. They did everything right to help him. My children used to attend Wee Care when they were 2 and 4 years old and we couldn't have been more happy with everyone who works there. Wee Care has been in the neighborhood for about 30 years and it is a hidden gem. We had just moved back to Chicago after living nearby family and me working out of the home. So, it was a big adjustment for the whole family and Wee Care made it so much easier. I knew that my children were cared for and loved and safe and that's invaluable to parents. This review is long overdue. My son started attending Wee Care when he was 15 months old. When he started they didn't have a baby room so that was the earliest he could start. From the moment we walked in to tour the facility Ramona felt like family. Wee Care has the best of both a family run business and a corporate daycare/preschool. They offer great curriculum with a loving approach that doesn't make you feel like you are just one of many. Ramona's daughter, Elizabeth, has now joined her in running the facilities and has been a great addition. My son has been attending Wee Care for nearly a year and he has learned a ton! The teachers are great, compassionate, and excellent with the kids. I'm amazed that before he was even three, he could recognize a trapezoid, count to 50 and count to 10 in French and Spanish. Amazing. The price is very reasonable too. Wee Care Preschool has been an extension of our family for over 7 years with our 7, 3, & 2 year old children. Our children have grown in an environment at Wee Care that fosters academics, foreign language, music, dance, acting class / dramatic play, and offers additional sports and fitness classes where an instructor comes to the school weekly for an extra fee (no more driving to weekend classes). We have always felt that our children are truly cared for by the teachers and staff as family members and believe that Wee Care is in the industry for the genuine right reasons. We recently removed our child from this daycare. While his teacher was wonderful, the lackadaisical, lazy and unprofessional approach the owner and the other teachers take to child care needs to be known. Their proactive communication with parents is poor at best, and we did not like the way some of the teachers interacted with the children. Some of the "teachers" are pleasant, but others are surly. While a nice woman to talk to, the owner does not have an email address and was not responsive to concerns we brought forward. She was unable to articulate what safety precautions were in place post Sandy Hook shooting, and our requests for follow up on this topic were ignored. During the summer time, there is no air conditioning and the building gets very hot. It is my understanding that the kids are taken out of their clothing when it gets very hot and left to run around in their diapers as a means of keeping them cool. While I can understand this to some degree, I was never directly told this until recently, and any time I have picked my child up on hot days, he has always already been back in his clothing. Seems deceptive and secretive to me. The lighting is not great, the toys and overall environment are borderline dirty. Our child learned while he was there, but we feel it was because of the specific teacher, not because this is a facility that really invests in the children that attend. We no longer felt comfortable keeping our child here, and would have never depended on this daycare/preschool to help get our son ready to eventually enter kindergarten. This place is a daycare, not a preschool. It's cheap daycare, but you get what you pay for. read more

This place is truly a gem and I'm so happy I discovered it. My 5 year old daughter has been attending their summer camp program and she absolutely loves it! I'm impressed with how caring the staff is toward the children and parents. The owner is also very caring and accommodating to any requests you may have. I was extremely surprised at how reasonably priced their tuition is as it is half the cost of my daughter's previous daycare. It is an unbeatable price for the quality of care you will receive for your children. Wee Care is an environment that is unorganized, dirty, and not following DCFS standards. There are certain employees from the baby room who think they run the whole school; they are good at yelling excessively at every student in that school. I have seen the food here and it is not pretty. If I had known what my child would be eating, I would have never sent him here. The teachers here seem to be very stressed out because of the lack of organization. The "big kids" classroom has children ranging from 3 to 5 years of age. My son was not able to get the individualized attention that he needs because these poor teachers are trying to facilitate a zoo, not a classroom. My son would often tell me that he saw cockroaches and ants all over his school. I brought it up to his teacher and she said it is true and that the exterminator is never called. His teacher also informed me that the teachers are not regularly TB tested and/or fingerprinted, yet the director still seems to get away with it. When dropping off/picking up my son, I would notice quite a bit of fans around the facility--very dangerous for young children. I could go on and on about this place, but that would probably take me about 2 hours. So rather than wasting your time in reading this review, I advise you to not bring your child to this "preschool." Do something good for your child, stay away from this place! I am glad I took my son out of here and enrolled him in a real preschool. Good luck! read more

"A Hidden Gem" in Lakeview! I cannot say enough good things about Wee Care. When looking at where to send my kids I was torn on several schools around the area, but went with my gut on Wee Care and never regretted it once! I have two kids that attended school there until last summer when we moved to the suburbs (daughter started at 18mo and son started at 3yrs ). They were well cared for, learned so much (including Spanish) and never once complained about going to school. They absolutely loved Wee Care and still talk about it often! The owner, Ms. Ramona is at the school every day along with her daughter, Ms. Elizabeth who has really helped advance the program to meet the needs of today's families. That said, the entire staff was amazing and really seemed to care for my children - so much so that I cried on their last day! In my opinion, Wee Care is a fantastic, affordable option in child care with a great neighborhood feel...a true hidden gem for those lucky enough to attend!! read more

I've gotta say that the daycare is disgusting! Looks like they don't hire cleaners since floors are always filthy! Windows and blinds are dusty which looked like it hasn't been cleaned for years! Cots that the children lay at are also sickening! They look like it has been there for decades! The food here is awful too! My child always went home hungry! Food is included in the tuition fee but it looks like the children are given small quantities of food. (That's according to one of the teachers I spoke with) When I picked up my child earlier than I usually do, I even caught teachers yelling at the kids! Teachers here looked always stressed out. They have a high student-teacher ratio (say.. 2 teachers for 30+ kids.) I'm just so glad that I already pulled-out my son from this old and worn out day care. The tuition fee here is really cheap that's why you will really get what you paid for. Your child deserves the best! Don't settle for something cheap! read more
