I ordered a portion of salt and chilli tofu as a starter, a portion of fried rice, chips and curry sauce in one container as my main and a trusty can of Irn Bru. Yes, it was one of those days. My order was about £11 and took about 30 mins to arrive. The "starter" could have easily done as a main meal, It was massive! I did wonder why a starter was so expensive when I ordered it. Perhaps they should reconsider it's location on the menu! The container of rice, chips and sauce was also enormous (although in hindsight I do think I chose a large, so greedy) and Wok Star had kindly included some prawn crackers in my order! Thankfully my boyfriend came over on a suspiciously well timed visit just as my order arrived so he helped me polish off all the food! We both ate our fair share and there was still lots left over. My major quibble was that all the food was SO SALTY! Ridiculously so in fact! One of the most remarkable things about the place is its really generous portion sizes. My wife and I can quite comfortably order a chicken and cashew nuts with a single portion of rice and feel well fed after sharing it (not sure the division is quite half 'n' half, but then I'm a growing boy.). That also makes it extremely good value for money, and certainly one of the cheaper take away options that we regularly opt for (you'll get change from an £8 note for a meal for two). The prices are reasonable, you can get a takeaway meal for two for around £15 and the staff are great too, very friendly and helpful. From these visits I can say it's a nice, clean and well established Chinese restaurant and takeaway with an impressive set of loyal dinners. Of course, it has a large varied menu of chicken, beef, pork and - my favourite - prawn dishes. All of which are served up in generous portions for decent prices.
