Whether you're inside or looking out from the windows, it's beautiful would like to come back someday in the spring when it's not as cold. The service was top notch, not California smiley but attentive. I liked that. I also really appreciated the spotless bathroom similar to the cleanliness I notice when visiting Japan. I wanted to buy my fave German chocolate brand, Leysieffer, and wanted to know the closest store in Cologne. The hotel staff member helping me at the front desk gave me a map (that's standard) and when I was ready to go, he said they can get car service to take me there. Freakin' nice! No Hyatt took me to my next step as quickly. Nothing beats anticipating and exceeding customer expectations. But then again this is Germany where everything is super efficient and everything works the way it's supposed to. Since there weren't that many bars close to the Hyatt, having drinks at the hotel bar was convenient, and of course, not cheap. German beer, served in tall cylindrical glasses is super yummy, especially the more malty Mühlenkölsch. In Mainz and Cologne, almost all beer is made by Kölsch and the varieties run the spectrum from very hoppy to very light with a hint of sweet (and actually went really nicely with fish). Never thought I'd appreciate German beer. I did this trip. Tip: Ask for a room on the river side to take advantage of the water, bridge and Cathedral views. Because this hotel is along the Rhine, it's a great to run in the morning along the river instead of using the ellipticals in the hotel gym. Visits: 1

It is a bit out from the central part of bad k but there is a city bus that passes by and I would say it is only a five or ten minute drive from anything you might want to see. Breakfast is just OK... the same thing is served daily, and for the first few days you couldn't get coffee (they bring a pitcher to your table... there is no other offering). The website says it's a "cashless" hotel and they encourage you to book online through their website. Don't. If you want to use a credit card, book through a 3rd party. Otherwise, if you book online through the hotel, you will be asked to pay cash, up front, upon your arrival. They claim it's because their credit card machine is temporarily broken, but that appears to be a lie. I was there for a week, and it was never fixed. Locals who I know stayed here in March (5 months earlier) also said it was broken then too. Their prices advertised online also do not include the "city" tax, which also has to be paid in cash (regardless of whether or not you used a 3rd party booking system. The only redeeming qualities are its location and the water pressure is good. I had to stay here for a work conference, and I think the only reason it was recommended was because it's the only hotel in the area offering a German Government work discount. With so many options in Rudesheim, do not stay here unless you are in need of an official government discount.

Super great comfortable room with a great bed and a great view of the wine making countryside. On the Rhine riverfront near the train and everything else. Walk everywhere. Bar open 24 hours, so fun for late night wine or beers to sit outside with other tourists from France, Germany, Netherlands etc and laugh you ass off. Service was great. Super great breakfast included with a great assortment of German foods/treats. Best shower I have had in years, including my Chicago condo. Super comfortable (and relatively inexpensive) beautiful little hotel in the "Napa" equivalent of one of Germany's best known wine making regions. This is a GO.

The train passes just below our windows, but amazingly with the triple pane windows, it sound was barely noticeable. Our room had a balcony overlooking this wonderful view. Also, I was very impressed with the cleanliness, especially the bathroom. So convenient that they have a wonderful reasonably priced gourmet restaurant just downstairs. Normally hotel restaurants are overpriced for what you get, but not here. Felt like we stayed in someone's home. Wish we could have stayed another 2 nights!

Our 9 night stay started normally, except for the fact we didn't interact with staff until we had been there 2 nights. We had a partial roll of toilet paper when we checked in, but the morning after night 2 we were out without a spare anywhere. Housekeeping did not speak English and had difficulty understanding our limited German. My German aunt called the owner and he said we could meet with his associate at 3pm. The associates were a young girl and her slightly older brother. We wanted to speak with the owner to clarify breakfast issues we were experiencing as well as get the wifi password as advertised. We never got these issues clarified, and the breakfast certificate for the bakery wasn't correct. We had NO IDEA what breakfast choices we had. No wifi access the 9 days, 1 cup of coffee in the morning, and the children not being able to take our credit card to pay for the rooms which used up our Euro currency on the second day made for a disappointing visit.
