They answered all the questions I have had. On the visits I have made here, I did not have to wait for more than 10 minutes in the lobby area. When it is time to leave, you exit out a different door than the one you came in. You do have to check out with someone, and they can let you know what the next steps are (based on whatever notes your doctor provided). If there is no next step that is immediate, they will share that and then you are on your way. Note: The lobby area has many seats, magazines to read, and a television to watch.

I tried throughout the day 5 days last week and 2 days so far this week and either hung up after waiting over an hour OR got the message to call back later because they were busy. I ended up having to drive into the office to change an appointment and the person scheduling appointments was very unpleasant and not helpful. The next available appointment was 6 months later than the one I had to change. Sorry to change cardiologists because I like my doctor but if you can't get in touch with his office, something is very wrong. I know a number of other patients who have had the same experience.

But the attitudes of the staff people in Olney are hit and miss. I went in for a regular check up a couple of weeks ago and the front desk fellow and the nurse could not have been nicer. They have been there for a while and they seem to like their work. Went in for a test recently and instead of Dr Jekyll this time i got Mr Hyde. What a difference. The girl at the desk was almost nonverbal. 'Abrupt' would be a compliment in her case. At one point i literally got a grunt in response to a question. No lie. She grunted at me! But it turns out she was the highlight of my visit. The woman that administered the tests was indifferent at best to her job and me. It was so awkward being in the room with her i could not wait for it to end. She was also nonverbal except to give monotone instructions and refused any other interaction beyond her job. I was already nervous enough. I don't expect her to read me bedtime stories and rub my feet but good Lord, TRY just a little compassion for your patients. These people do not realize WE DON'T WANT TO BE THERE ANY MORE THAN THEY DO. PROBABLY A LOT LESS. After all, we are there due to a heart condition not a damn pedicure. We HAVE to be there. So please, lose the 'tude and let's get on with our, hopefully, long lives!

To top it off, they are not following even the most basic standards of treadmill safety. At the end of the test, the technician turned the speed up past the point I could keep up. I told her it was too fast, but she didn't make any adjustments and I was thrown off the back of the treadmill, spraining my knee and shoulder, requiring a trip to the Urgent Care center.

So when your earliest appointment is 9 and my other two options are 11 or 1, the cost benefits analysis for me to take off a half day for a 15-30 min appointment is pointless.
