I…read morechose it just because it is located in Friedrichshain, where I live, but it turned out to be a great decision. Teachers and staff are highly professional and always willing to help. They always try to adapt the course days and time to the students' availability. The small groups allow a faster learning pace, lessons are always fun and productive and they send you per email the contents and homework if you miss one lesson. The only thing I didn't like is that the book is not included in the course fees and only the students of the intensive courses can borrow them. I attended two German courses before in Berlin but only here did my level really improve (to realize that you are getting better every day is of course also a huge motivation). I'm taking a break in August but will definitely join another course in September.

One teacher (Florian) spent ten minutes attacking Americans in front of the entire class. He frequently attacks students with rude comments and hateful criticism when students cannot remember vocabulary words in beginner levels. Students largely aren't interest in learning, and the teachers tend to frequently stereotype students. The "coursework" is not scheduled, and unless you ask, you have no idea what level you're in. The work done in class is from random printouts from random workbooks. No textbook is used. The theory and grammar learning structure is not at all along the guidelines of the TestDaF or any of the test frameworks. Highly do not recommend unless you're here on holiday and not looking to learn for serious purposes. The free time programs are not very interesting or informative and usually always cost extra. Most are things you could do (or already have done) aside from the Alexanderplatz tour with Windelin.
