I want to start off by saying this review was carefully thought about. I gave a three stars because the place is actually very nice. And most of the maintenance people and workers are very nice as well. You get a lot of waves and a lot of good mornings on your way around. I will say, though however if you are any other race or ethnicity but white, you are going to get looks. Now they have a lot of rules enforced, which is perfectly fine however, one of their rules is what stood out to me the most. They claim they do not allow cheeky or thong like bikinis. However, when you get inside, that is quite literally all you see. Not only that you need to sign a form before going inside and in that form, it tells you that rule which is perfectly reasonable however, when you have another female worker looking at you straight in your face telling you, "yeah no thong like bathing suits" with a look as if ur going to prance around half naked isn't exactly a warm welcome. Not only that you're paying nine dollars per person for a Sulphur Springs when you can go 20 minutes back to your local Springs, which are less $ and don't smell and are more welcoming than coming here to a stinky judgy place. Another thing I wanted to add was that they care more about not wearing thong like bathing suits instead of worrying about people walking around with confederate flags staring you down like you don't belong I was only here for probably about 15 minutes before I left because I was uncomfortable. Not only that they have a convenience store, which I did go into only to get looked as if I was going to steal, felt forced to buy something so I walked out with some m&ms and got on out of there. Now along with why I gave three stars was because they do allow alcohol on the premises and they do have a DJ which is a veteran which I think is super cool and they have a slide for your kids to slide into the water and a sand area. Wekiva Falls RV Resort 30700 Wekiva River Rd Sorrento FL. We drove down from the Panhandle of FL to visit our daughter for a couple of days. Because of the upcoming & then arrival of ice/snow storm we extended our stay. The ladies in the office could not have been any nicer. Even though almost all the premium sites were reserved they managed to keep us in the same site! The park has a lot of snow birds that are here from 2-4 months. Everyone we met were very friendly. Did not use the bathrooms or laundry room. I did go in the laundry room & it was terrific. I'm sure over the summer it gets even busier with the spring, falls and water slide. read more

Our family really enjoys the Falls. The water is always cool and refreshing and it is always fun when we visit for the day. We also have family friends who currently reside there and they enjoy it immensely. I would advise arriving early, we usually are there as soon as it opens. There's been a few changes in the day pass prices over the years we have been going so call them for the latest rates. There is a dj on the weekends and the music adds a nice ambiance. They have some places available where you can purchase food but we usually bring our own. You can grill, which we have done, but there have also been times when we take the easier route and bring our own pub subs and snacks. The parking situation has also varied greatly on our visits so that's another time you may want to call ahead for details. All in all it's a nice place and a great outing with family and/or friends. read more

We were here for an overnight in the RV campsites. Staff was great, very friendly and polite- made us feel right at home. The bathrooms were very clean, and regularly cleaned. Floors and showers look new, very comfy for being way out here! Not sure what the negative reviews were all about but, yes- obviously some come here to party and unwind but there was nothing obscene to report during our visit. Tip - you can bring your own alcohol. Just no glass. However, if you forget there is a tiki hut and a small convenient store where you can buy some items. This review is based solely on being a daily visitor. First off, if you haven't been to Wekiva Falls you need to go! I recently visited for the day with some family and we ALL had such a great time. We have already started planning another trip. We came on a Sunday in early July. My boyfriend and I came together so we paid $8 for each of us. The park opens at 8:00 a.m. and we got there around 8:30 a.m. The majority of the small tikis were already taken but we were able to grab a few of the lawn chairs. The falls themselves are a bit of a hike from the parking area but if you wait a minute a shuttle will take you, your kids, cooler, etc. to the water area. There is a DJ on the weekends who played a great selection of music. Old rock, top 40, country, latin, a little bit of everything. They also had hoola hoop contests for kids and adults (my cousin won the first round, she had a little more competition the second round). Adult can win a free drink at the tiki hut. Later in the day they had a few other relays for the kids. The entertainment is a huge bonus in addition to the slides. Wekiva Falls is a hidden treasure to the Central Florida area. Spent two days here in the primitive tent camping site. We stayed in tent site #10 and it was the closest to the bathrooms and to our car. The site was clean. It had a fire pit and a picnic table. It was roomy with plenty of space for our tent. The restroom facilities were clean. My only complaint is that the resort is rather noisy. There are a lot of dogs barking at night. Other campers were partying hard the first night and the second night, the tiki bar was open. The tiki bar is very close to the primitive camping site. But it shut down during quiet hours, so that's not really a problem. I bet this place is especially awesome when it's warmer. The swimming area is huge and looks super fun. This site also has a swimming pool, a dog park, a small hiking area, and canoeing available. I would camp here again, with earplugs. read more

If you have kids avoid this park at all costs. This is where old burnt out frat and sorority girls go to continue their alcoholism. It is very loud. Water and electrical are constantly going out. Electrical due to the amateur concerts people decide to throw. Water was unsanitary told us to boil before using. All in all not a place for children, however if your missing the golden years with your Alma Mater this is the place for you. Local and state driving laws do not apply on the park!!! You enter a picturesque park with the makings of a great place. Then it hits you the beautiful pool and that sulfur odor permeating from the waters. It does not stop there your forced to endure the same water from you faucets. So you can survive but on bottled water. I filter the water entering the RV but the water is just a little less smelly. The people here for the most part are all friendly. Except this one individual who is a full timer and definitely is a danger to people here. She acted as if she was going to run over my wife and child (2 year old) all while cursing at them and demanding to get off her property. This I a RV park she owns nothing here and probably not even that cheap old little trailer she lives in. So if you come across her you will know and not forget. It's amazing how the management just has no regard to how she acts. Or drives "We will fine her" what good is this if she hurts someone here. That's what you call negligence on managements part. If only the owner knew what was happening here and how his beautiful million dollar garage with his corvette would be in jeopardy if something were to happen. Don't think state parks are the only place you can explore the Wekiva River! This privately-owned park allows you to do so many activities for a fraction of the cost of parks and adventure tours. This is absolutely my favorite place in Orlando to camp, just escape city-life, or go swimming. As others have pointed out, yes, it has a very sulfuric smell to it, but if you can get past that there is so much beauty. First of all, this place is actually an RV resort and closes down for day admissions/camping starting in November through May so that those who live in RVs have adequate room. During the day this place is PACKED! As others have mentioned, $6 admission per person (or $20 for a car load!), only $5 to rent a canoe or kayak, and it's free to launch your own boat. When you first enter you see RV's on your left and a river to your right. Then, on the other side of the river there's even more RV's and campsites. Everything is well-maintained and they have adequate security. One night while I was camping I made a fire in the sand with rocks surrounding it and a security guard who was making his rounds asked me to contain it. I happened to have a disposable grill so I just moved it in there. A pain, but it was comforting to know someone was out there protecting the area and those of us there. Once you pass the crowded swimming area, the river gets wider and there's a little bridge that passes over the river. This bridge basically separates one side of the park...designated for swimming, bringing your dog in, etc from the area good for canoeing and fishing. There's a bar there with dirt cheap beer and of course you can bring your own alcohol. Did I mention there's recycling containers around so you can recycle your cans? The river is absolutely BEAUTIFUL. I bring my inflatable boat with a trolling motor and have a great time seeing turtles and fish. It's truly a hidden gem. read more

I've been camping here probably ten times in the last ten years. The property was recently taken over by KOA in the last few years, which has come with some upgrades as well as some not so pleasant changes. The clientele is as it always has been - I'm going to just say it - rednecks and slightly ghetto. That being said, I have no problem with this and fit right in. The Positives: They have completely remolded their bathrooms and showers. They have a lot more trash receptacles since the change. They added a new swimming pool and club house. The negatives: The rates have gone up. Also, if you have more than 2 people on a camp site, they charge you $5 per person per day over 2 people on top of the daily site fee. The women's bathrooms/showers no longer have a dressing area, only 3 toilet stalls and about 5 shower stalls, although this does allow for more privacy individually. Upon check in you can not just go straight to your site, you have to wait for a staff member to drive you to your site in a golf cart. Only the primitive camp sites have a grill/fire ring. If you camp at the full hook up sites you have to bring your own. Also, not every site has a picnic table. We arrived on Friday 4/26 around 6:30pm. My husband and I and another couple were sharing a site and went straight after work. When we got there there were about 6 other cars trying to check in. Once I checked in with the front desk they told me we had to wait on the side for an employee to take us to the camp site in a golf cart. There were about 5 people ahead of us, and we knew we only had a solid 45 minutes left of sunlight. After waiting for approximately, I don't know... 30 SECONDS, we realized if we wanted to at least get our tent set up in the day light we needed to scoot. We just went straight to the site. They give you a detailed map, plus we've been here before - this does not require a tour guide. We got to the site and they had assigned us between two huge RVs. Also backed up to the back side of our site was a large family with two sites side by side. They clearly had at least 5 or 6 adults and 8 or 10 kids between the two sites. They had Latin music blaring and one of the women was screaming at someone in Spanish at the top of her lungs. Oh no - this is going to drive me bananas. I immediately called the front office and asked to be moved. About 10 minutes later an employee in his golf cart showed up to help find a more suitable site. We rode around for about 5 minutes, him trying to guess which ones would probably be vacant for our 2 nights. We finally decided on one about 5 sites down and across the street from the louder family. My goal was to have at least 1 tree on the site to help with shade, and be within walking distance to the bathroom. Mission accomplished. We just barely got the tent and table canopy set up by the time it got dark. Our new site did not have a picnic table (which neither did our first one), so we had to carry one form another site. It is technically against their rules, but who cares, we needed a table. Our site had a large number of ant piles. At one point we ended up with ants in our tent, even though not one crumb of food went in it. The front desk said they could spray, but their spray takes 24 hours to work. We'd be gone by the time it did anything. All in all we had a good weekend. The swimming area is as it always has been. It does stink of sulfur, but you get used to it. They set a DJ up on the weekends now. He played a combination of popular country and whatever it is they play on XL106.7 (pop/rock/hiphop?). I don't think the women's restroom was cleaned at all during the 2 nights/3 days we were there. The tiki bar is nothing to brag about. They had a karaoke table set up by the bathrooms up from the tiki bar also, but we did not partake. This place is okay, there are definitely some better camping options in the area. I'll probably come back again in another year or so. The biggest appeal to me is having the water to swim in and keep cool during the day. The water slides are fun, too. It's fun to come just for the day, but you need to get there early in order to get a spot around the swimming hole. They fill up fast. They also have a 3 story water slide, but they charge $8 per hour, no thanks. They also have hiking trails and canoe rentals for the Wekiva River. read more

Wekiva Falls was our plan C for a recent tent camping trip. After Wekiva Springs State Park and Kelly Park were both booked we ended up at Wekiva Falls. The weather had just cooled off so we weren't going to be doing any swimming in the Wekiva Falls stinky sulfur water. Check in was at 2pm and is first come, first served for primitive tent spots. I got there right at 2pm and found a spot along the river that was close to the restrooms but not too close. The campsites all have a cement picnic table and grill. The smell of the water wasn't too noticeable and certainly didn't hinder our enjoyment of the campsite. The main problem with Wekiva Falls is the type of clientele it attracts. The staff couldn't be friendlier and the park was very clean. HOWEVER, the park is private, meaning they allow alcohol. Now, I'm not against alcohol by any means, but what happens is people drink to excess then they start ruining it for everyone around them. Case in point: A few spots down from us were some hillbilly drunkards. They were drinking at 2pm when I got there and continued drinking until they passed out sometime in the middle of the night. They were loud, vulgar and obnoxious. For 10 minutes they screamed for their "missing" dog before they realized it was they had locked it in their truck. One couple started fighting (of course) and we were wondering if it was going to turn into a domestic incident!! We had quite the time trying to distract my four year old so he wouldn't overhear their nonsense. Also, they allow dogs here. I am a dog person. But there are so many dogs, almost everyone has one, that problems start. People can't control their dogs and they bark. All. Night. Long. My plan of being close but not too close to the restroom? Well, because all of the tent campsites are along the road leading to the restrooms groups of drunkards stumbled by, yelling to one another throughout the night. And there was the motorcycle that raced up and down the road, and the traffic noise from 46, AND Wekiva Falls is directly in the flight path for the Sanford Airport. Not to mention the tiki bar and it's karaoke. Needless to say we will not be camping here again. It is just too noisy. What a shame! read more

Wekiva Falls is a pretty fun park, located in Sorrento, Lake County. Large swimming area with water coming out from the ground that smells like rotten eggs and a big water fountain in the middle and two water slides right next to it. The place is pretty big with a lot of parking space for one day visitors or for people that want to camp out there and stay they night or two, the fees to stay over night are decent. The pool area it self is not very deep and at times might get to your knees or as deep as your stomach, there is parts were its not deep at all and you can walk thru it leading to the deeper parts of the river (Wekiva river) where you can rent canoes. The Tiki area was great you relax next to the marina and rent canoes and kayaks, or even order food. Only down side to the tiki bar is that it gets crowded and wait for the canoes is very long at times, we had to wait only about 30-45 minutes but some people waited longer. Down side to this place is the water is not deep so sometimes you cant really do much swimming just mostly soaking in the water and getting on the slide. The park it self gets pretty crowded, and a lot of people doing BBQ'S and running there stereos with there own music, lots to look at here. as far as people and you can find all types of people coming here and uniting to soak in the water and have a good time. I will definitely come back again next time more prepare with food and ready to BBQ, I also like that they let you buy beer and wine coolers from the Tiki bar and you can wonder around with it. The prices for the canoes and kayaks is average for and hour and a half you pay a fee but warning if you are late you are penalize and will pay late fees also get there early if you want to get one quick. read more

Wekiva Falls....went here a couple of years ago and I don't plan on going back. It's bad enough that it smelled nasty from the sulfur water nature of the spring, but it seemed generally dirty. My girlfriend and I like to go spring hopping when I'm in FL, and this one left us wanting. It smelled bad, the bottom/ground of the spring was slimy gross, and the little river off of it was gross too. My girlfriend said it used to be clean and fun, and that there was a neat little tower in the middle of the pool area that you could go in and that it had slides off of it and stuff - but, they were either closed up or completely gone at that point. I dont know if that's just the nature of that particular spring or what...but yuck. read more

Really disappointing. Nothing like the billboard they have on the road - that picture must have been taken a decade ago. I didn't really feel comfortable with the clientele either - yes, you can have beer here, but that didn't seem to help the atmosphere any. It went beyond a divey atmosphere to a trashy atmosphere. We wanted to go camping here but ended up not even being able to stay. If you can, go to Kelly Park instead, it's nearby, and 1000x better, plus you won't be afraid to go to the bathroom alone at night. read more

So awful. First, it's trashy. I thought it would be kitschy and charming, instead it was old and run down. Second, the staff ranged from mildly unhelpful to outright rude. The people at the front were gruff and didn't respond to my group's smiles. The woman at the Tiki Bar (which is a joke of a name) was really rude and lazy. She couldn't do the math when tallying up our order. Then she plunked down frozen burger patties, slices of cheese and buns in front of us and rather than telling us that we had to cook them ourselves, she stared at us for a while and said "The grill should be hot if you want to cook those" in a smug tone of voice. So we took our rapidly-thawing mostly-soy beef patties to the grill, an old rusty charcoal affair, and there's no fire. The horrible little Tiki Troll proceeded to chastise my group for ruining her fire. She smoked while watching us try to build it up. We had to use someone's cigarette lighter and paper towels, because she couldn't even give us lighter fluid, and then she yelled at us for using up her paper towels. I don't blame the business for the state of their customers, many of whom look like they had done a lot of meth, but I do blame them for having bad attitudes among their employees. I live down the street and have been coming here for years.. there new rules are really starting to get to me to the point where I don't even enjoy coming in here anymore. There is no sign or anything that states that you have to have 75% clothing to be able to swim etc.. I was wearing a thong/Brazilian and some lady comes up to me kicking me out when I had already been there for several hours already.. quite honestly it was really weird and to be singled out for wearing a certain type of bathing suit was ridiculous. Literally a bathing suit is not 75% clothing and also bathing suits are practically underwear anyways. This is not the only situation I have been through here. We had our staff picnic here, and it was a lot of fun! We chose Wekiva Falls because it's a private park, rather than a public park, which means alcohol is allowed. Overall, it was a great setting for a group get together. The swimming hole is a fed by a natural spring, and the "falls" are actually created by a cement casing placed on the natural springhead to push the water up. Cool! There's also a great waterslide, and plenty of picnic benches. The spring is a feeder to the Wekiva River, and you can rent a canoe and head out to the river for $5 for 2 hours. Although spring water is crystal clear, the pool itself is dark from constant agitation of the mud bottom, and the water is a mildly sulphuric. Be prepared for rowdy kids that will clamber right over you on your way up to the slide. Admission is $6 per person, and it seems like it is usually pretty crowded. My family camps out here every year for the 4th of July holiday. It's a little crowded this weekend but lots of fun for everyone. There's a huge swimming area with a smaller slide and a shallow stream you can walk down or set up your beach chair in. No need to get a sitter for your dog so you can go camping, The park is dog friendly for non-aggressive breeds. There is also adult beverages allowed here. You must have them in a cup with a lid. If you are caught walking around with an open can of beer on the 4th (and probably any other time the police are present) it's a $92 fine. Other than that things are pretty lax. read more

Visited Wekiva Falls In June of 2018 as a day visitor. Had gone there as a teen in the 1980s so it's been a while to say the least. It's not fancy but its a great place to have fun in the sun and cool down. Definitely no frills. Seems like lots of happy families were there. I saw dogs too. We entered and paid our $8 and were directed to a parking lot. Then we caught the "trolly" Which was a tractor with plenty of seating. We were dropped off at the main swimming area. The sulfur smell is there and strong but not as bad as it used to be. Definitely bring your own chairs, because the loungers provided fill up fast. There were plenty of picnic areas that looked like tiki huts to sit with your family and grill out. There was a live DJ playing classic beachy music. There were vendors selling pizza and drinks. I believe there was a tiki bar selling adult beverages but we didn't use it. Overall a fun day, you could see many families there having fun and enjoying the Florida nature. I think this place is A-OK....but don't have high expectations, I think people with the negative votes expect this to be some fancy resort. It's an RV resort, people. btw, Lots of RV vacationers, looked like they were happy. Here are the things to do - Swim, both in the springs and their pool, you can bring whatever floaty toys you like. You can also barbeque, have a picnic, rent a canoe or kayak, take a nature walk, bring your own coolers and drinks (no glass please) The landscaping is nice you can tell they take care of the property. Can't say enough good things about this place. Mostly because I compare it to the other places, Wekiva Island and Wekiva State park, both of which are major pain in the asses about EVERYTHING. This place is set up the way a river resort should be, fun, laid back and relaxed employees that are friendly and glad you are there. Exactly the opposite of the other dumps mentioned before. GREAT BEACH DAY ALTERNATIVE! Six bucks to get in, worth every cent, employees say thank you, and you can bring your own cooler. Police drive by occasionally looking for people being obnoxious but not like the other two places where they are stationed up front being intimidating kill-joys. Not bad, but not great. The plots were small and right next to each other, and many of the concrete slabs for the picnic table area were broken. The "falls" is the man-made waterfall seen in the website. The water was warm enough for people to use in jan when it was 77 degrees outside . I have been to Wekiva Falls Park several times, but I finally got around to camping there this past weekend. My first piece of advice would be to try to avoid this place on a busy holiday weekend. If you still plan on attending, make sure you get there super early if you want a picnic table. While I was walking to the bathrooms at about 8 am this past weekend, I was amazed at how full the park already was. There was not one open table to be found. It is usually not this busy. When I am not camping, I usually get there around 10 or 11, and I haven't had a problem finding a spot. There is an entrance fee to get into the park. I can't remember what it is, but I do know it wasn't too much. Once inside there are plenty of things to do. If you are looking to be part of the busy crowd area, that I suggest you sit on the cement area at the end of the stream by the slide. This is where the majority of people stay. If the large crowd isn't for you, then find a spot closer to the road by the narrow part of the stream. You can swim here, canoe here (costs extra), there is a large water slide (costs extra), and they recently had a zip cord (also costs extra). You are allowed to bring in your own food and drink, but if you happen to forget anything, there is a store and a tiki bar. I like visiting for the day, but I don't think I will ever camp here again. It just wasn't worth it to me. To me it was pretty expensive to just have a piece of grass. Our site didn't even have a fire pit to roast marshmallows. They told us to bring our own. It was also pretty crazy and loud here. The staff did a very good job with the crowd, but it was just too much for me. I overheard a lady describe it as a college spring break. You can camp here. The natural pool has a water slide & sometimes a live DJ. There's a concession stand for food. You can rent a kayak or canoe, which isn't right by the parking lot. Beautiful scenery with wildlife. read more

Honestly this place is no where near as fun as it use to be. I'm stunned at how much this place has changed and the prices on things is completely ridiculous. How can they take a public place that's meant for everyone to enjoy and turn it into sadly what it is now. It's more for the people who live there and make it hard for people like me and my family to enjoy it. Very few positives about the place. We will not be returning, and it saddens me because as a child i had so much fun here camping and just hanging with friends, my children 13, 15, & 16 remember the good ol days they hate it now. Just paid $8 at this place that closed in 3 hrs. And the bitch of front was rude as shit. They want everyone to park in the front of the park and walk 25 minutes to the water or Pavilion to hang out. Remember i just paid full price at this place for 3 hrs of hangout time so walking across this camp ground seemed dumb as shit. So i literally drove in said hi to my friends and some dude on a golf cart sat next to me until i left. . There was no other daily visitors in the park but my friend and myself. It was only $8 which should have been less because they are about to close in a few hours today. Im posting this at 2:40 and i already left . I wouldn't recommend going here and i can see why business has died off there over the years read more

I go here 10 or more times a year. It is rustic and much like it was 40 years ago. The water is artisian and smells of sulfer. It is a very large property, family owned, and they don't kill you with rules. One person said it has the 3 "B's"..... Well, from what I've seen... They allow drinking, but no drunks; I've never seen brawling; and I'm sorry, some girls just don't wear the right clothes for their figure! It is large, grassy, has a large flowing spring, and about 800 sites for RVs and camping. It's a swimming hole with lots of fun, and you can hears the kids. read more

Went here today when Kelly Park was full. It was fine once we left the swimming area and walked down the creek and rented kayaks. Once you left the swimming area the strong sulphur smell was gone and the canals were gorgeous to paddle through. Saw two gators. Wish there were more. Lots of party folk on motor boats with very loud music. I give the canals a 4 star review but the swimming area just two stars. The sulphur smell and crowd just wasn't a whole lotta fun. read more

Arrived @7:45am on this Memorial Day and we were still able to get in early. There was already a plethora of people at the park. There is 2 lifeguards on duty ( they didn't have them when we came on a non holiday) 1 was on the waterslide and the other walking around the perimeter of the springs. read more

Waiting an hour in the loop to get to the office to check in is pretty bad. They are in dire need of a better process!

Dump. Terrible attitude/bartender. Poor selection of drinks to choose from. Parking is about 1.5 miles away. Bar is dirty. Water next to it stinks something horrible. Not worth the time and effort to find this hellhole. This place is about as much of a "resort" as a run down shack claiming to be a motel. Place is falling apart and with the bartenders philosophy of everyone who makes her work or answer questions is rude its no wonder the place was empty. No music. No atmosphere. Just a plywood roof next to a stinky part of the river. Don't waste your day or money. read more
