I loved this place after that…read more The sundae was the best I've ever had at any McD's even here in the U.S. I complemented my sundae with fries and it was the best combination one could have. The serving sizes are smaller, but it tasted better than their U.S. counterparts. I liked the seating outside and the late sunsets around 8:30 to 9 with the sun peering through darkened clouds.

Whenever I come, it seems pretty crowded, and sometimes it takes quite a bit of waiting before you get your food. This is a really big McDonald's--there's an upstairs seating area with a lot of space. If you needed to, you could get work done there as there are power outlets. As with all other locations, this McDonald's offers cheap prices, unhealthy food, and a lot of deals. However, the service leaves a bit to be wanted. Staff is rude and the phrase customer service doesn't exist here. On my last visit, I noticed the staff arguing with a customer over dipping sauce. I'm not entirely sure what was going on, but it seemed like the customer wanted the sauce and staff were refusing. Anyway, like I said--typical McDonald's. It's the only one in the area, so despite its mediocrity, I would go back when the craving arises.

The Cornmarket Street branch is trying to be sophisticated: it knows it's a cut above kebab vans, but it has a long way to go to reach Starbucks. Neveretheless, you do see people doing academic work and having business lunches in here and they particularly advertise the breakfasts and coffees. Sophisticated it ain't, but it's a little less patronising than some branches. Service is quick once you're at the front of the queue; it definitely lives up to its fast food reputation. That said, you can end up waiting a long time to get to the front if it's busy. The atmosphere is the same as in most MaccyDs: loud, quite crowded and not exactly homely. This branch is pretty clean, but that comes at the cost of having people frequently mopping around you. In case you're not familiar with Mcdonalds nowadays, they've tried to go healthy, so alongside the usual Big Macs and (now unsalted) fries, you can now get wraps, salads and fruit. It's hardly going to improve your health, but at least they're making a step in the right direction, showing the health content of their food and at least providing an alternative for reluctant customers or cheap food addicts.

Strangely for McDonalds, this is a really nice restaurant. We use the drive through for than eat…read morein, but that is great too. We often buy the kids lunch on the way back from shopping at the weekend, and the staff are friendly, quick and rarely make mistakes. They even helped us get a better deal (and thus spent LESS money) at the drive through once. They have the usual breakfast menu and burger menu, and do all the specials. They always give the kids different toys in their happy meals which is great and something the other branches dont think about.

Cheap, generous portions (£2 chips and cheese) - the staff is extremely friendly, the cooking facilities are very clean and you can see all your food being prepared. Even the salad is fresh and clean. Highlights include the chips, cheese, and chicken (£4, and you get a ton of grilled chicken and chips and cheese and salad). The hot sauce is quite spicy, but the real highlight is the garlic mayo - it's incredible. The kebabs are great, the chips are well-fried, and all of the food tastes fresh, and, crucially, is cooked really well. Definitely a step above the other street food in Oxford.

I ordered mozzarella sticks (we don't have that as an option back home), chicken selects and fries. For sauces I chose garlic mayo, sweet curry, and sweet chili. Everything was delicious. I also didn't feel gross or bloated after, which proves the difference in ingredients right away! The inside was very clean as well. Staff was friendly. McDonald's overseas just hits different!
