There are of course cancellations and delays like other train stations, but for the most part it is a reliable train station. The staff at the kiosk are notoriously rude. The people of Motherwell probably don't appreciate their luck at being on the West Coast Mainline as there are hardly ever any people who get on here to go south to England.

There's a decent geneology section and alot of foreign language books in addition to packs for learning other languages. They also have a constant supply of books for sale which have worn spines and other minor damages. There's a decent coffee shop in here and there's usually workshops with kids on the go. It closes at 12:30 on Wednesday, which I have conveniently forgot many times. Try and not make the same mistake.

You can rent DVDs and videos as well as computer and console games. there is also a children's area which has a great selection of books. there is a lovely little cafe inside the library and you cant help but smell the fresh aroma of coffee when you enter the library. Very often there will be a book sale where you can pick up books at excellent prices The staff are always pleasant and provide a lovely atmosphere
