I also found the current staff from receptionist to students to be very eager to be helpful and supportive. My only criticism would be that some of the equipment needs to be replaced from wear. They've done a good job of controlling the tendency to overcrowd and become choatic from my first visits to latest (a period spanning about 3 years).

It is important to note that This facility is actually located in Mesa, not Scottsdale. Advanced Health care is INCREDIBLE! I am only 55 and even though I look and feel 35 (if I do say so myself) I am already looking into making darn sure I have the right insurance in place so whenever a time comes that I need to be admitted to an inpatient rehab facility, I can make sure I have the ability to choose this place. My mother has straight medicare with a supplement. We learned the HARD WAY about advantage plans after her stroke 2 years ago. Advantage plans are disgusting, worthless options and I would never recommend anyone who is over the medicare age of 75 to be on anything other than straight medicare with a quality supplement plan . But that is a review for another time and place. Advanced Health Care is five stars all the way. The staff is attentive, caring, professional, friendly and work hard to make sure your loved one is welcomed and made comfortable from the moment they arrive. The therapists are amazing. They make sure your loved one works hard from day one so they can get back as much of their old life as possible once they leave. I researched the facility and discovered that it is owned by Larry H Miller. He must've built this place in honor of his parents or either he's just an incredibly phenomenal human being because this place is as close to perfect as homemade apple pie and the fourth of July. The building and interior is designed to look and feel just like a warm and cozy, well cared for home. The beautiful stone fireplace, the living room set-up, the little library and dining room area is very well decorated. The private rooms are nice and big and decorated in warm, Earth-toned colors. The whole facility feels exactly like you could be in your own home. It isn't sterile or cold or unfriendly feeling. I highly recommend this cozy, intimate, quiet rehab facility for anyone needing care or for anyone concerned with leaving a loved one in the care of others for several weeks at a time. You will feel good about your decision I promise you.

This place is run by two 12 year females and one uncaring male…read more They let the patients perform the therapy alone, without staying with them and coaching.. then, a lady who was on a bed, was asked to follow him over to the recumbent bike..he walks over and waits for her to get off the bed alone, and maneuver, her walker alone, to the bike.. He should have assisted her, and walked with her until she reached the bike. Then sets her up and walks away and goes and chatty chats with one of the 12 year olds. Unbelievable . I have been associated with other PT facilities..around,,and this is the worst.. These are older patients they have coming there,,and it is appalling they are taking advantage of them. You can have the strongest brand name in the industry, but without a truly dedicated staff, excellence is impossible. Sandra, Kelly, Raul, and Bert are anything but ordinary. My mother has been very weak due to the number of medications she's been on, and your team has done a wonderful job reducing some of them. The real gold stars, however, belong to these four incredible caregivers who, when Mom tried to skip OT and PT, kindly, professionally, and skillfully encouraged her to get out of bed and participate in her rehab. Every morning, Sandra helped Mom out of bed, into her wheelchair, and guided her through brushing her teeth and preparing for her therapy sessions. The food and food service team is surprisingly delicious and outstanding! It takes a special kind of person to stay positive, patient, and motivating day after day. John was in rough shape when he got there, broken L/ankle and R/hip. He was frightened and had a hard time swallowing and the staff gathered around to make him feel welcomed and cared for. Tobe and the dining staff really went all out making sure he got food that he could swallow and just really pampering him during his entire stay. When we would have lunch together in the dining room, the wait staff and often Tobe also welcomed us and took excellent care of our meals. The Office staff was gracious about holding John's room when he had to go back for a second ankle surgery. We paid for the room but it relieved his anxiety knowing that he didn't have to pack up and start over somewhere else. The nursing and therapy staff were wonderful. Without them, John would not be walking with a walker and getting around as amazingly well as he does. I wish I knew their names so I could shout out, but I just want to tell them They Rock! Whenever I go to a public place, I check out the atmosphere and cleanliness, and I have to say the maintenance and cleaning staff do a 5-star job. The buildings and grounds are immaculate! I am happy to recommend this facility to anyone who needs a kind, entertaining, and beautifully kept Rehab Facility. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts. It took some time to get John up and running again (I won't let him run yet), but all of your dedication and friendliness is why he is home tonight.
