Actually they allow the other party to bank online 4 day after the account was closed and pay bills that didn't know the account was closed with account's still available online - and then they say - it's not our policy to notify people if their account is closed. If they allow someone to close an account without the other person know and let the other person bank online for 4 days after the account is closed? Horrible bank , they make good money charging fees twice that of normal banks . They charge 50 for overdrafts . Good luck with this bank. I would recommend BankWest . Called to start the process, and they told me my account was closed due to being dormant, and that they had taken the $70.59 that was in the account to cover costs. No letter, no email, no text, no call. Admittedly, the amount was small, but I found the fact that they would close any account without making an effort to notify me was unbelievable and incredibly arrogant. Apparently, I was sorely mistaken to expect the hometown service I was looking for from BHFCU, and I certainly will not move my significant banking in terms of loans, savings accounts, credit cards, etc., to BHFCU. I would urge everyone to watch your accounts closely as they apparently have no problem with not only closing them without notice, but also with taking the balance.

I recently obtained a home loan through this bank and it was the worst financial experience of my life. A 30 day escrow took 9 weeks, there was no respect for timelines, contracts, contingencies, etc. I had to pay $1,600 in late fees because it took so long for this bank to get their act together. Had this bank made any effort to acknowledge that a 9 week long wait for a loan was unacceptable and made an effort to at least reduce my fees I would have stayed. But no, they seem to think they are the only bank in town. Good bye.
