Also, Acupuncture for All Decatur is a community clinic which makes costs significantly lower; one place I contacted charged $200 for an initial visit. Each treatment's fee is on a sliding scale, $35-55. You can also purchase a package of 4 visits for $120, cash or check, with credit card online being an added fee. With the community clinic model, there are four beds in one room meaning you can be treated at the same time along with up to three other people. There's soothing new age music playing in the background, but you can still hear talking within the room and sometimes from adjacent rooms. I like bringing earplugs to tune out any chatter. Dr. Judy Yu can seem a little no nonsense, but she puts your health first and genuinely wants you to get better. Dr. Judy has over 30 years of acupuncture experience, and she is happy to answer any questions you may have. Besides acupuncture, other treatment options available include cupping and herbs. There are two other acupuncturists who work at Acupuncture for All Decatur. You can book online with any one of the three. Parking can be a struggle in downtown Decatur, but there are some reserved spaces in the parking lot behind the building. Look for the spaces marked reserved for 235 East Ponce. I know I'll have to continue "maintenance" visits if I want to keep these results (no such thing as a one-time miracle cure), but all things considered it is COMPLETELY worth it. Dr. Lin is very affordable (comparatively), does excellent work, and is thoughtful and conscientious. I'm so glad I decided to go to him for treatment! I am incredibly thankful this practice exists. Less than a third of the cost of most acupuncture clinics, and really the group treatment room is no big deal (I was nervous at first). If it does, it generally means that point was very blocked and needed to be opened to improve the flow of chi through the meridian. The vibe you're going to experience is welcoming, friendly, caring, and genuine. After signing up, you will receive x rays to get a starting point of where you're at and areas of concern so she can construct a plan that fits your needs. Usually you go more often in the beginning and then over time it will be maintenance. You'll get a folder with all your information and your posture photo. At the time I went, they had two adjustment tables separated by a divider, a waiting area to do pre adjustment exercises, and then a "relax" room (not the official name for it) after the adjustment. The exercises are good and you feel good doing them. There's a chair to rotate your hips, a traction device, and a vibrating platform. When using the chair, you can definitely feel how good it is to do this move. The traction device is my favorite. I hold all my stress in my shoulders, upper back and neck. That traction device gets the neck tension and feels amazing. I was never instructed to use the vibration platform so it may be that it's only for certain issues. Once you're done doing all those things, they're usually ready for you. Sometimes there may be a wait if others are chatty, so I don't recommend ever going in a rush. The Doc will do certain adjustments but if you have some preferences, just ask and she'll do them. She'll also ask if you have any new issues or something she should focus on. After that she'll use the percussion gun which is also very enjoyable. Last but not least, the lacrosse ball which she'll give at some point in the beginning along with exercises. Do them and use the ball just like she says. Holy moly! The ball....!!! If you have a tense back from stress, that thing will literally melt knots out. I also have a few other gifts she was kind enough to offer me to help with my needs. She really went out of her way to not be a place where you're just a number and I really experienced what a nice person she is. Her office is in Oakhurst, walking distance to me! I decided to give her a call. I cannot tell you how happy I am to have found her. She is amazing. So far, she is the only person who has been able to find the exact spot in my back that pains me on a daily basis.
