Wenatchee Avenue was, and Bobby Hollingsworth and David Lowe bought it (watching it deteriorate into a mess). Still I went when they moved briefly to the old Catholic Charities building on Mission (that was a depressing nightmare). Now they are in the old Crown Furniture building on S. Wenatchee Avenue and it's going down the same road. It's a filthy, unorganized mess. Things piled up everywhere, no tags. And when you go to ask if something (WHICH IS ON THE FLOOR!) is for sale, wouldn't you know - it's not. The truth is I've had problems with Bobby and the Valley Exchange a few times since they took over. If you're not going to sale something, Bobby, get it off the floor! Clean your shop up! Tighten up! And fix your floors so people quit tripping and falling. I hope you get sued and you lose your store.You run that place like some sort of a ghetto tweaker. As for me, I'm washing my hands completely of that place. I will not be returning. They're fortunate to have any customers, but to crap on the ones that have brought you business regularly is insane.

There wasn't a ton of racks with tons of items stuffed on them, which is what usually keeps me out of thrift stores. What I found was a really wonderful selection of items to browse through in every category. I never felt overwhelmed with browsing and felt I was able to find just what I was looking for. The proprietor was a lovely woman who was friendly and helpful. I can't wait to visit again to see what new treasures I can find!

When reaching for the door handle I said to my husband, "Get ready, I bet this place smells like my grandma's house." No. It smells like tide pods and dryer sheets. All of the clothes smell freshly laundered. How do they do it? I'm not sure, but about half of the store is clothing and they are all nice and clean, so they must sort through their items pretty intensely before putting them out for sale. The prices were decent, and while I didn't find any special treasures to take home, I would definitely stop by again the next time I'm in Leavenworth.
