Wendy Moore = awesome and a 5 star experience. Unfortunately she had to leave the business for a while. Enter Carrie Tobin to sell my Mom's house and to purchase another home. She tries, I'll give her that. And she's got a great heart. It's just that she's just not that capable. From pricing my mom's house poorly, to accepting an 'all cash offer' that was ultimately subject to financing, to not knowing how navigating the escrow process (ie, ensuring funds transfers, dates of close, etc), she was outmatched from the word 'go'. And she'll work with you on giving 1% back to you if you give her both ends of the transaction. That's nice. Except, please know that going in she'll give you the 1% on the lowest valued transaction rather than an average of the two home sales or even better yet on the higher priced transaction. Like I said, nice. When we moved my Mom into the new home, we found some issues with water leaks in the drywall in the bathroom. Carrie flat out refused to put us in contact with the inspector stating that we signed the inspection so case closed. She also stated that because she didn't see the water damage during the inspection that it must not have existed. We saw the water damage within minutes of getting the keys so we knew that we didn't do it. But when we pleaded with her to help us by just giving us a chance to have a conversation with the inspector, she continued to ignore our requests and was rather nasty about it. She instructed us to tell our insurance that we did it and that we needed to submit a claim. But we knew that was lying. So after finally finding the number to the inspector (Carrie had set up the inspection originally), the guy came over and said 'yep I missed that'. But he said that it was not an ongoing leak by verifying with a scope and was quite apologetic. He put us in contact with a drywall guy and that was that. Why couldn't Carrie support us on that? I don't know. Maybe because she had already received a $45K commission? Carrie is sweet and tried very hard to help my mom through a very emotional time. She even saw to it to hand deliver docs to my mom rather than email because that's confusing for my Mom. And when my mom's area had fires, who was there to help my mom evacuate? Carrie. Those are find qualities for certain and Carrie deserves recognition. At the same time, speaking professionally, it's quite odd that a real estate agent can't be available to show homes on the weekend. Seriously, I don't need to here about how many weekend wild parties, concerts, and little league games you have that conflict with your customer's priorities. Family is important for certain. As such pick a profession that allows you to take care of your family without compromising your customers. Carrie is a good person who tends to get overmatched by business and customer service. She's fun, gregarious and charismatic. A realtor can be both, but it's not a guarantee. read more
