Just finished eating here - Wendy's has consistent food but I would go elsewhere since service was really bad!!! Only one other customer in dining area and still bad... Dark haired older cashier had a forced script politeness but acted rude - then ignored my kids asking for sour cream that was left off baked potato (after about 2min of being ignored, shorter cook guy inquired from kids what they needed- gave it to them no issue ). !!! Last straw was one of my kids who is somewhat lactose intolerant asked same rude lady if there was dairy in frosty- her answer was robot "chocolate and vanilla, comes in 3sizes" .... being within listening distance, I asked my kids who are 6&8 to ask her politely again - "is there Dairy in the frosty?" She answers "no dairy" and walks away from them Just on gut feeling - I checked - pic attached - milk and cream in frosty!!! Thx lady for almost getting my kids sick... Ps. dining in for lunch: i got a baconator, which came out rather sad looking compared to the posed photos of said meat monstrosity. First things first -- Wendy's food is great and it's a great value, too. My beef (no pun intended), is that this is the SECOND TIME they've done the 50 cent Frosty promotion, and when I go there, they don't have them! Last time it was at the Vista location, at 1:15. They just said "We ran out, sorry." How is that possible? I still ordered a meal, because again, for fast food, I think they have good quality and value for the money. Tonight, at the Encinitas Boulevard location -- 7:45 p.m. -- no chocolate frosty's. We were in drive-thru. I went to the window and sternly (but without yelling), said "How can you run out? That makes no sense. If you do a promotion like this, you guys need to be prepared for a high volume of business." The woman (tattoos on arms, heavy-set), snapped at me, "We run out because you're not the only person ordering them!" before slamming the window shut. She didn't curse at me, or yell at me. But...I think in that situation, when YOUR BUSINESS is at fault for not having product that is being advertised heavily (on the radio)...you need to be sympathetic. I get to the window and this joke of a manager asked me to cut the coupon out with scissors myself when I handed her the sheet because she couldn't cut it herself. When I said how ridiculous it was she simply said how it wasn't her job to cut the coupon for me and I should have been prepared when I. And to the window. How absolutely piss poor was that? I would hope that's not how management is trained at this location and this one was just someone who slipped through the cracks. Extremely disappointed with this particular location. I grew up enjoying Wendy's and always looked forward to having a junior bacon cheeseburger and chocolate frosty. However, I don't know if the service was as terrible then compared to what my sister and I witnessed exactly one week ago. On Saturday August 10th approx. 11AM, my sister and I went through the Wendy's drive thru near Vulcan Ave in Encinitas. There were no cars in front of us nor any cars behind us, I thought, "Wow, this will be a quick and easy drive-thru experience."..I was wrong. We pull up to the speaker and the woman sounded very impatient saying, "Are you ready to order?" My sister and I were a little taken back by the abrupt question. When I said I was going to need a moment (it wasn't even 10 seconds) she asked again, "Are you ready to order?" Getting annoyed, I placed the order for our family. Instead of the woman repeating the order, which we had an idea she missed a couple items, the order was taken down from the screen before even pulling up to the window. The woman at the drive-thru had dark brown hair ( I think she had it in a bun). Before giving the woman the total, I asked for her to verbally repeat the order. When she repeated the order she missed two junior bacon cheeseburgers. I told her she missed two burgers. Instead of owning up to the mistake she lied to save face and said in a snappy tone- of -voice, " I did include those." I asked again for her to repeat the revised order, now with the two burgers, and the total amount changed. Nothing upsets me more than being served by someone who doesn't do well with customer service. My first official job, prior to babysitting was working at a burger restaurant with a drive-thru (ironic). If I made a mistake on a customer's order, I would at least apologize and fix the problem. The job paid very little, but I at least made customers feel respected and welcome. This woman didn't even say sorry for rushing us in the beginning and being dishonest to my face. This is why I prefer to go with family-owned or smaller restaurant businesses for quality food AND service. read more

It's Mother's Day today. And my wife, a mother of five, arrived at the curb side pick up for our mobile app order (which we placed 15 minutes previously to our arrival) and this mother of five had to stand outside directly at the curbside pickup sign to not be provided our already prepared order which was already bagged and ready to be picked up. We could see our bag of food through the window, however the door was locked and my wife was unable to enter after calling on her cell phone to inform the workers that we were here to pick up our curbside pickup at the curbside pickup sign. We were informed to drive through the drive through behind 10 cars and we had had to wait 20 minutes to receive our already prepared food. You are overpaid and under worked. Please consider using your brain and take a few moments to meet us at the curb side pickup in order for us to retrieve our curbside pickup which is located appropriately 10 feet from your drive through window and provide us with our prepared food next time since it is difficult for us to drive through your drive through as we have an oversized vehicle. read more

When I paid at the drive up window, I asked the manager that took my money if the fries were freshly cooked, and she assured me that they were. Pulled thru the drive thru and drove into Smart and Final parking lot 2 blocks away. Opened our bag to eat lunch and both orders of fries are stone cold, hamburger pattys on the both of the double stacks we ordered was room temperature warm and dry like is was cooked yesterday and just reheated a little bit today, cheese on the burgers wasnt even beginning to melt. This place is right down the street from my work, and it's cheap so I come here every once in a while. I always order stuff off the dollar menu when I come here since this is the place I choose to frequent when I'm most broke! They're super quick, have friendly employees and always get my order right! Anyway, today I was on my way to Little Ceasars to get a pizza when I saw a picture of chili cheese fries in the window. They looked delicious. So naturally, I decided to go to Wendy's instead. Bad idea. The fries were still half frozen and they were just all around gross. I will say this though, the cheesy cheeseburger and the bacon chicken sandwich are like 1.60 each. Oh boy has Wendy's gone downhill... Ever since they introduced their fish sandwiches, their fries have smelled and tasted like fried fish. Blech! (Not that fried fish is a bad thing. It's just not how I like my fries to taste or smell.) Their burgers also seem to have changed a bit too, but I can't really put my finger on the difference. Maybe it's the buns? Our order was received in less than 3 minutes. Everybody was hands on.. But what I do noticed in comparison to other wendys store, this store is not well lit. i just went there to order inside the red. the door was unlocked and open. I stood at the counter and waited for a minute. Finally what appearEd to be a manager came and said that she co not tame my order because she didn't have a cashier or cash drawer? Not exactly sure? it was about 3:00pm in the afternoon. Told me I had to go through the drive through? this is totally ridiculous when there were plenty of people working in the back of the restaurant? What is the point of having all those employees working when no one can wait on customers? Visited at 2:50 on 12-7-17. Food was great but the cashier seemed more interested in speaking with her fellow employee than providing customer service. She sounded depressed on the intercom and at the window. We had to ask for condiments and sauce for our chicken nuggets or we would have received none. They get my (admittedly) complicated order mostly right most of the time which I guess is ok but not as great as it could be. This one is fairly clean compared to other locations and it doesn't get too busy. Drive thru is fairly quick and its in a safe feeling area. It's an ok Wendy's - but nothing special. My main complaint is that there are tons of Day Laborers hanging out at the drive-through exit, who gawk at you as you wait for the light to turn green. Wendy's has two things I really like, the french fries and frosty's. Their fries are quite salty, which for me (an avid salt fan), is a really good thing. I love the taste of them. Mine were also nice and hot too when I ordered through the drive thru. For a fast food treat you can also never go wrong with their frosty's. Their burger's are ok for being fast food. To me they have their combo meal prices set a bit too high though. read more
