But when I researched the eye drops you prescribed me, there were research/clinical studies that showed patients who had their WHOLE face turned red/destroyed by this product. 2. You mentioned, "Treatment options for facial redness in rosacea are the same whether you consider it cosmetic or not" But after you prescribed me an eye drop and I came back with destroyed face/worsened redness, you claimed it's ONLY for cosmetics, which means that I should ONLY use it when I need it for cosmetic purposes, not to treat it. 4. You mentioned, "Occurrence of side effect or unwanted result is frequently seen and is NOT a mistake in care. This is also why our patients are informed to hold medication and contact the clinic right away if they develop any side effects or concerns after starting a medication." LIES. When did you ever inform me of such things, that I need to "hold medications and contact the clinic right away" if I develop any side effects or concerns? NEVER. You only told me that once I put it on, it would go away, and that was it. And due to your negligence, that was why I had developed extreme redness. 5. You mentioned, "This is an inherent part of their care and has nothing to do with age or immigration status. We certainly NEVER punish our patients for giving feedback as referred by "repercussion" in your review. So please do not make any unfounded misleading negative statement as such." I never mentioned my age or immigration status to infer that you would punish patients for giving negative feedback. Please stop twisting my words that I inferred you were punishing patients for leaving feedback to turn yourself into a victim. I'm only mentioning them ( age & an immigrant) to further emphasize the sufferings I endured due to your "care" from my difficult circumstances (young age, didn't want to speak up as an immigrant). To this day, you only care about protecting your business, blaming your customers rather than owning up to anything. What if it's your face that was permanently ruined/turned red by another dermatologist, and you have to spend the rest of your life covering it up? Greeted with welcoming service, the doctor's instructions were clear and to the point, all I had to do was follow Dr. Zhou's recommendations. Though my condition may be different from yours, I had signs of eczema and it was clear I had to see the doctor about it. I was recommended by my primary doctor to see Dr. Zhou and get a second opinion. I'm grateful my primary doctor had a good relationship with Dr. Zhou. Dr. Zhou's staff and team are understanding and professional. I would say they want to help you the best they can. So why not give them a call a book your appointment now? read more

REVIEW IS ONLY FOR RECEPTION, NOT DOCTOR SERVICES. This place was recommended to me by a family member. I called ahead to make an appointment. The receptionist never asked what the problem was, if I was in for routine check up or if I had any specific issues. I showed up to my appointment 20 minutes early and gave the front desk my ID and insurance information. I was asked to fill out a form. All standard procedure. After I finished filling out the form and returned it to the receptionist, she immediately tells me that I have family insurance and I still have a few hundred dollars to meet before the FAMILY deductible is met. She then proceeds to tell me that I have to pay $150 deposit in case insurance fails to cover the services. FYI - The receptionist is a Chinese woman with short shoulder length hair, dyed reddish brown. I have NEVER heard of this before. First of all, she never mentions that I have already met my INDIVIDUAL deductible for the year. I don't think she understands the difference between INDIVIDUAL and FAMILY deductible. Second of all, she never mentions my insurance COPAY for specialists. MOST IMPORTANTLY, she never once asked me why I am visiting the doctor. What if I was just in for a routine check up, why would I pay anything other than the insurance copay? Needless to say, I left. Plenty of other doctors in NY. First time was a procedure to remove a small growth in my face. Second was less than 2 minutes as she inspect the area and said ok you're good to go. I found this dermatologist on Zocdoc and so far it's been a pleasant experience. First visit was for an itchy bumpy rash that was all over my abdominal and back. Dr. Wenhong Zhou let me know that the rash could be caused by 1 of 3 things. She gave me some prescriptions (including cortisone cream, antibiotics and antihistamine medication) and suggested I came back for a allergy strip test. I asked if I would be able to take a shot for the itchy rash and she explained that it would interfere with the patch test and that it would stay in my system for a month which would prevent me from getting to test applied for a whole month. 2nd Visit: I came back the next day, she applied 6-8 patches on my back and taped it up, I was done in 5 minutes lol. The test needs to stay on for 48 hours but because the place was closed on Sunday I had to keep it on an extra day.... it sucked. It was seriously irritating and sometimes painful! 3rd Visit: Again no wait time. An assistant removed the patch test from my back and the doctor came in to look. She let me know I wasn't allergic to any of the common allergies (yay!). Then we sat down to see what I could do to further treat my rash. She gave me another prescription, this time a regimen and told me to followup with her in 2 weeks. I was on my way after 10 minutes. Things to note: - No wait time, clean establishment, nice front desk people - Dr. Wenhong Zhou seems very knowledgeable - Bring up any questions you may have! People including doctor's are not mind readers so say something! - Patch tests suck! Every time I moved when I was sleeping it hurt, felt like my skin was being pulled and felt raw. I got home after the 3rd visit and looked in the mirror at my back and I saw cuts from the paper edges. In total I had 3 long cuts down my back. Dr.Wenhong is a very experienced doctor. She examined the problem I had very thoroughly. She knows what she is doing. Unlike other flushing doctors who will give you wrong diagnosis. The staff was very nice and the service was great. I went to numerous doctors and dermatologists around the flushing area and none of are as good or as professional as Dr.Wenhong Zhou. They also have wifi. The office is located on the second floor. The whole entire second floor is her medical practice and it's very clean. I would recommend everyone to come here. read more

My visit to Dr. Zhou's office was wonderful! The office was clean and welcoming. Her staff was nice and attentive and I was in and out of the office within about a half an hour. I was able to get a same day appointment (SUPERLIKE!) for a condition that I've been neglecting for quite some time now... my condition started getting worse lately, so of course I started Googling and (self) diagnosing myself with all kinds of crazy stuff and started freaking myself out... common, you know what I'm talking about!! LOL =D I finally decided it was time to get checked out by a professional and a PROFESSIONAL she was!! Dr. Zhou was extremely patient in explaining my condition and put me immediately at ease. I had her take a look at another skin concern I had and she offered a promising solution (which I plan on returning to her office soon to be treated). Definitely highly recommended and I'll be baak!! BTW, I hope this review was somewhat helpful, Lily C., but I don't think it's fair that you gave Dr. Zhou a 3 star review when you haven't actually seen her as a patient and are only posting here to ask others to review her practice. I was disappointed with my visit. I have this recurring irritation in my under eye area and finally decided to seek professional help. This was my first visit to a dermatologist ever, but I felt that I didn't get the return for what I paid. Unfortunately, Dr. Zhou couldn't tell me what the issue and solution was. And then I got prescribed this medication that was nearly $200, which I only found out was that expensive at the pharmacy. This price did not work for me. Now I understand there can be instances of bewildering medical oddities (which I doubt mine is...), but her bedside manner was also cold. The appointment was 10 mins long max; I was examined for literally 10 seconds and was quickly ushered out once she prescribed the medication. For the $150 payment, that's $15 per minute! Now I'm thinking I should've been a dermatologist! I was told to come back in a couple of weeks, but after this experience, I will have to pass on the doctor's orders. read more

I guess doctors have very different standards these days. First - you pay before you see the doctor, fine...I guess it is a business. And because of the front desk's incompetence in getting the insurance information correct; 10 minutes wasted to help them sort out and resend the EXACT same insurance card. BTW - you can't see the doctor until you sort out the payment. I guess doctors are no longer there to help people! Then you see Dr. Zhou - she asked 3 questions, says this is what you may have, and the cause of the allergic reaction could be x, y, z, etc, etc - pretty much anything in the universe. And her recommendation is to continue to take Benadryl, and prescription for another drug ($$$). Ask how long she should take it - respond - "will...hard to say, probably indefinitely..." Try different frequency as you go...and see how you react. So crap shot/lottery...trial and error. WOW - is all I can say! ZERO value! I can get more information and value from Wikipedia! If you need to see a dermatologist, and considering her - consult the internet - they will give you better advice than Dr Zhou. I was speculating given the very mixed review here on Yelp... It's worth mentioning though that at least Dr. Zhou and her team have been responsive to the feedbacks, and review on Zocdoc.com is highly positive. Anyways, I decided to give it a shot. Thus far my two visits have been pleasant: friendly staffs, a very clean clinic, and most importantly, a doctor who shows she cares about her patients and whose treatment is EFFECTIVE! First appointment was a weekday and really didn't have to wait other than setting up the initial paperwork before seeing Dr. Zhou. Second time was a same-day walk-in on a Saturday; there were a few people in line already (which I view as a good sign of the doctor's service), so I had to wait a bit but was grateful they fit me in the schedule given it was an emergency. I'd definitely recommend Dr. Zhou based on my personal experience. I have a very bad experience about this place about their service. Because I have the appointment at 12:30pm and I got there early and check in. And they request me to pay the visit money first. Okay that is fine. After I pay. The front desk said your time is 12:50 and I was shocked. How come is 12:50. Since u confirm with me on phone at 12:30. Then I need to keep waiting and waiting and did not even get any reply. Serious. I think they don't know how to make the good time mangment and totally waste my time on waiting. Went to doctor Zhou for second opinon and she was great. I didn't tell her what my condition were from my first dermatolgist but she nailed it right away. My condition been clearing up because she gave me the right treatment and convinced me i don't need additional steriod or oral antibotic. She did give me a biopcy since this is my second rash experience so I would like to know what it is to avoid it in the future if possible. However it would be nice if she explain a little side effect or pro/cons of biopcy, I didn' t know it would leave a huge scar but in desparate time, I don't want to go through this type of rash again so went through the skin test. I will be back for future consultations or any of my skin needs. She take you right away and spend time looking at your condition. read more

I normally do not write reviews, but i just let the people know how absolutely disrespectful the receptionist are. they called on the phone explaining why the insurance did not go through. I was trying to explain my situation, however she did not let me finish my point view, she began to raise her voice with attitude and accuses me of being a liar. She said and i quote, "Stop lying, your a liar". I asked for her name and she decides to HANG UP me. I called back their office (furious at this point) and this time another receptionist picks up. I requested to speak with first receptionist, she pauses for a long moment and began GIGGLING and WHISPERING in the background. she ignored my request multiple times and ask me for my name and why i was calling. I asked for her name (her name is Julia) and requested to speak to their manager or the physician. She said the physician was seeing patient at the moment and that she not have time to come to phone. I ask that the physician call me as soon as she is free and still have not received that call. For doctors here, I can give 4 stars. Dr. Liu and Dr. Zhou are pretty professional, knowledgeable, and care about patients. One star is for front desk staff. Two of the front desk staff were very rude no matter over the phone or in office. Stay home if you hate your job. One of them is a pregnant chinese woman, but she acted very rude and stupid acting. This doctor office absolutely needs more decent people with good manner to work at front desk. read more

Dr. Zhou is by far the best medical practictioner I have ever worked with! The office is always clean and staff is friendly and precise. Thank you, Karen! She always handles my acne issues with the best possible solution, with safety and side affects always acknowledged first. When I had terrible acne she helped find the best medication for my needs, and I have always suffered from terrible scarring. The chemical peels administered have changed my life. Yesterday I awoke with one of the worst bug bites that I have ever encountered, and Dr. Zhou saw me IMMEDIATELY and prescribed me excellent creams and medication. Why are you requesting additional fees for deductibles? And credit card info? Most procedures are covered by insurance carriers. Most physicians will request approval from the carrier before treatment is performed. In addition, this is legal insurance protocol followed by the most dermatologist at Columbia University Medical Center. If additional fees are requested the carrier should inform your office and patient. By written letter! I have sent your staff several e/emails and they have failed respond. Your website is misleading and should be corrected. Please consider my argument! And your office should follow the proper protocol. Your probably a good doctor and honorable individual. Furthermore, all deductibles should be on computer record by the carriers. There should be no additional fees if deductibles are met. Accept procedures not covered by the carrier. Poor service from administrative staff! I called the doctor's office on Thursday to check whether my medical insurance was accepted and if so, to schedule an appointment. They do accept my insurance (Aetna), but I wanted to make sure they accepted student health insurance. I provided the staff with my insurance ID number and she said she'll check and give me a call back. Fifteen minutes later, I got a call back and she informed me they do accept my health insurance and I didn't have to pay anything, so I scheduled for an appointment on Saturday. Saturday morning I walked in and the staff told me she didn't know whether they accepted my insurance. I explained to her my phone conversation and she said they had no record of any of it. I suggested she check in with that staff who worked on Thursday at the particular time I called and she told me she didn't who was working then and couldn't check either. I suggested calling my insurance company to find out, but they are closed on Saturdays. The staff then talked amongst themselves in Chinese, so I didn't know what they were doing to solve the issue. Afterwards, she suggested I pay $150 to see the doctor and I would get a refund if my insurance covered my visit. As a college student, the price was too steep for me. After some back and forth, the staff said I could pay $40 co-pay and would get a refund after they checked with my insurance. While this was an acceptable offer, the bottom line was I would have to pay more if my insurance didn't cover the visit. After spending 30 minutes at the office, I left without seeing the doctor because of the administrative staff's oversight regarding my health insurance. I do understand all doctors require payment details to be settled prior to seeing the patient, but it is unacceptable for the patient to bear the burden of the staff's mistakes. read more

This is a lovely office! The front desk is very friendly and efficient. I've been here once a week for the past few months for phototherapy and the wait time is never more than 10 minutes (although that shouldn't even matter because patients are supposed to WAIT for the doctor). Dr. Zhou is soft-spoken, knowledgeable, and takes the time to answer all your questions. And I don't have insurance, but I felt that the fees were very reasonable and affordable! read more
