After reading some of the reviews I was a bit nervous, however I got a great feeling after talking to Bob. I noticed the reviews were a few years ago. Bob did excellent work. He committed to the timeframe and even went above and beyond coming on what I would consider "off" days to ensure I was happy and satisfied with his work. He added a personal touch to all of his work and helped me make better decisions on quality products rather than the products for a lower price. He was very easy to work with, his office manager always was prompt to send invoices, and I liked the ease of making online payments. I was able to have a beautiful bathroom that my family can use and not worry about things not working properly. We were very happy with Bob's quote and ideas. He severely lacks in follow thru. The job is done, and unfortunately paid for. After it was completed, I found out there is an issue with the window installation. We cant properly use the window! I texted Bob and he said he would come by it a later date. He completely GHOSTED us. Wont reply at all. His staff installed a roof. We are happy with the roof. We did find nails in the grass for quite awhile. The only issue here is the drip strip was installed before the old gutters were taken off- and has snips for the old gutters, and then the new gutters were installed there's more snips for those. Bob told us that he would come by the following summer to fix/replace them drip strips. No show- no replies. Gave up. He put vinyl siding up out front. We asked for a scalloped siding up at the top. While we were on vacation, he texted a picture of it completed- he ran out if the scalloped and added cedar at the top to finish it. We didnt want cedar there. Back and forth with my husband about that, and he did come fix that. Its not perfect, and cuts are noticable from the street. (That was before he got final payment) He painted 3 sides of our house. The guys showed up, and started painting the bugs and cobwebs to the house. We asked them to stop and come back the following week so that WE could power wash the house. I still cant believe that!! There are paint runs in some places, and I had to go around the house with a paint brush to touch up the undersides of siding that was missed. When the painter ran out of paint-I was the one that ran to Menards and get more- out of MY pocket. And then the windows. We had 2 installed. One is fine. The other, isn't right. I can't slide the top pane of glass down to clean. I texted him right away and he said a family member was in the hospital, and he would come by it a later date to check it out. No more replies after that. So disappointed. I gave him more than enough time to follow thru before posting this review. I hate leaving bad reviews, and try to use small local businesses as much as possible. I want to high school with Bob, and several of our classmates recommended him. This review has been a long time coming. I just hate to see any one else get burned the way I did by this less-than-upstanding contractor. I purchased a house in 2011. When I bought it, I knew I would need another bathroom added on (actually, expanded). One of my co-workers recommended Bob and gave me his info. I had never dealt with a contractor before, so this was all new to me. Bob came over, very prompt and positive. He took a look at the space, developed a plan, and discussed options. It was all very nice and easy. Bob seemed nice, honest, and easy to work with. Instead of getting more quotes, I just gave him the job. They started shortly after. I was excited. The job went pretty smooth. They started without the permits, but got them shortly after. I consulted a friend with more experience. He told me to fire Bob, but I was too far into it and scared. So I relayed my issues to Bob. They were pretty well ignored. After the install, Bob get his money any everything seemed ok. The first winter, the pipes locked up a little. I called Bob. He said he would contact me shortly to come by and check them, but it was a freak winter issue. He came by, looked, offered no help, etc. I had to call my friend I mentioned previous. He cut a hole in my wall and got in behind the construction. It was here we noticed clear code infractions. There was an uncovered junction in the addict space, the water lines had to accessible shut off, etc. The construction had never been perfect, but I was happy at the price until I saw all the corners cut. The winter of 2013, my pipes all froze in this bathroom. Horribly. We were cutting off the water to the house to keep them from freezing and breaking. It was terrible. I called Bob, no replies, answers, anything. Kept calling through the winter, into spring. Finally got him. He agreed to come out and discuss a plan to repair the issue (I would be charged,but something agreeable. Set a date and he told me to go out and get some supplies). I got them, he never showed. I tried several times to get him, no avail. Once he answered, told me he was busy and hung up. Fast forward, it's Nov 2014. I called another contractor being older and wiser. Just spent a little over 1k to have the bathroom re insulated. It's much nicer and warmer and I'm confident that it wont freeze again. When asked, they said that $50 in insulation could have saved this. The bathroom was never perfect. The corners are shotty, the finish work poor, etc. He just missed a lot of details. But it cost me $1000 to correct his work. There was virtually no insulation in a build on a outer wall... all very sad. It has taken me a long time to balls up and write this. I don't like to bad mouth or write negative reviews. But Bob is no a fair and honest contractor. If you're reading this, I strongly encourage you to take a look at some other bids from other local contractors who care about their customers and builds and will treat you fairly after the fact. A great example, this company that just came to fix Bob's mistakes messed up one of the water lines. It took a single email and they are coming back to repair their ooppps.... no cost. So customer service is still out there. UPDATE: Through a completely odd situation, Bob and I reconnected in July 2017. I was able to voice my grief about these issues and my most recent issue, animals getting into my roof line at the edge where they were able to push up siding. Bob heard me out, allowed me time to catch the unwelcomed guests, and he came out and repaired the area they were getting in. He seems interested in righting the wrongs of the past. Apparently he has slimmed his business down due to some inconsistencies in the past among his crew. Time will tell and I will update this review as we go along. But I'm grateful he accepted responsibility and came out to solve it before the issue got much worse. read more
