I have a very high bar for what a Dr. really is as my Grandfather delivered me and my sisters and 10 cousins and was my primary healthcare provider until I was 16. I am a complicated patient and have not made his life easy. Dr. Lucas listens and remembers and has the confidence in his skills that he doesn't have to throw every test in the book at you "just to be sure". He will however, listen to why you feel you might feel you need something. My diagnosis will eventually be terminal and he understands (I think) how I feel about it and doesn't hound me and I can't tell how much that means to me. I had an incident involving another physician within the practice in which a lesser man/physician would have sent me on my way, but he didn't and I thank God and Dr. Lucas for that. It would have been devastating for me. My eldest son and I don't speak often but I referred him to Dr. Lucas. If you're lucky enough to get Dr. Lucas and are willing to develop a good Patient/Physician relationship, you will be set.
