We trust the West Chester Pet Resort with our baby Hank Majestic!!! He always has a wonderful time. We pay for extra love and cuddles 2x a day, but they spend a lot of time with the babies in their care regardless. We have been bringing our dog here for years, and she seems to love it as much as we do! They have a vet on site in case of emergencies, and I love that they temperament test approved group playtime-our munchkin comes home happy and worn out! Yes, your dog has to be up to date on vaccines, but I wouldn't want to take my dog anywhere that she's in close contact with dogs that AREN'T up to date. It's easy enough to check and make sure she's current before dropping her off-and while their on site vet may be a little pricey, it is on the owner to make sure everything is squared away before drop off. They do post pictures of the playtimes on their Facebook page so I can see exactly how much fun my fur baby is having. Their pickup and drop off times are convenient, and everyone from the front desk to the kennel staff is super friendly and helpful. We love Westchester Pet Resort for boarding our dog during vacations. They have knowledgeable and well-trained staff who love to spend time with the animals and give them lots of attention. The kennel rooms are very spacious and have indoor and outdoor parts that dogs can go in and out of as they choose. You can select the number of play times that your dog can have each day, and if your dog plays well with others, they can socialize and romp around with other dogs in the extremely huge fenced-in lot. There are vets and trainers on site, and the groomers do a fabulous job with baths and nail trims. When we have tried other places in the area, our dog always seems anxious and stressed when we pick her up. When she comes home from Westchester, she is happy, stress-free, and tired, which is as it should be. Highly recommend. read more

Had the worst experience!!! Boarded my dogs and paid for a bath and nail trim for my lab and they butchered his poor nails. He is extremely traumatized. And they both smell horrible, worse than they went in. I have boarded my dogs here for years. Not sure what has happened but after they closed the office on Courthouse, West Chester and Chester Animal clinic have gone way downhill. read more

We have been bringing our bullies here for years and we could not be happier with the care they receive. Our bullies are truly our children and we are extremely picky when it comes to boarding. We know they are loved and cuddled and spoiled by the staff. The staff is extremely responsive and we can always call to check in on the bullies when we are traveling. We also appreciate the cleanliness and organization at WCPR as well as their strict vaccine policy which keeps our babies healthy and safe. Highly recommend!! read more

I've used West Chester for years and have been extremely happy with the staff there. They are always friendly, obviously love dogs, and were particularly kind and helpful with a dog I had who was physically disabled. My other dog acts like a kid going to Disneyland when I bring him there. I definitely recommend it. read more

OMG Beware! There facility is clean and efficient HOWEVER the cost is crazy! VERY EXPENSIVE! Also, it's they have to an increase number of vaccines in order to stay, so more money. Plus, sometimes they don't tell you that you are due for various vaccines until the day you drop them off--so they give you a choice to take them back home or leave them there and they can give the vaccines but need a wellness exam, etc.....So, if you are heading to work, you don't have a choice but to pay pay and pay some more. read more

Beware of the prices and services! While their facilities are nice, you do pay an arm and a leg for it! I just paid $347! For example, when I dropped off 3 of my pets today, I forgot that they were due for their additional bordatella vaccines (the vaccines are good for a year but they required 2 per year with the flu shots and heartworm bloodwork, etc....). They informed me that they need them as I dropped them off for daycare on my way to work. Long story short, since I was going to work and couldn't get them to my vet that am, I just told them to do them there. Later that afternoon they inform me that all 3 off them need a wellness exam AND bordatella vaccines AND fecal check---and informed me that if I didn't want them done, that I would need to pick them up right then since they couldn't stay. Well, since I was at work, what choice did I have? What made it worse, was that 2 of my 3 dogs had a full physical 3 weeks prior, which the resort wouldn't accept! When I talked the manager about it, they stated it is for the well-being for the pet and when "we" (people) get vaccines from places other than their own PCP, they too need a "wellness" exam. I am a RN and clearly that is not true, since vaccines are offered at drug stores. Seriously? So insulting. read more
