This is for their billing department. WOrst experience ever. Customer service is terrible and the people are absolutely horrible to deal with. I received a statement showing that I didn't have insurance coverage yet I did. So I called them to let them know to bill to the correct insurance company. David answered the phone and transferred me to billing. I waited on hold for Rebecca for 8 minutes and no one picked up then it went to voicemail. I called David again and he transferred me again to Rebecca who didn't answer again, so that's another 8 minutes on hold and it went to voicemail. I called a third time and David said he'll get a hold of someone else live. I waited and was transferred to Aaron. First of all Aaron didn't seem happy to get a call since his TV in the background was so loud that I could follow all of it. I could barely hear him and yet he didn't even turn the volume down to have a decent conversation. I mean I understand the whole work from home concept but this is too much. I was triyng to speak loudly so I can be overheard over the super loud TV that was on. (they were discussing CHAT GPT just in case anyone wanted to know). So ubelievably rude and not professional. After arguing with Aaron for a while and letting him know they billed it to the wrong member ID and him arguing with me that it is the correct one, I was like " don't tell me which is the correct one, I know which member ID is the correct one because it is mine" he replies back "if you say so" ???? really? that's how you respond? Then he was refusing to make the adjustment to the correct member ID and I asked him to talk to a supervisor which is Rebecca. I was reluctantly put on hold so that Aaron can check with his supervisor if they can re-submit. He had originally said that they can't resubmit and I asked him to check with a supervisor. After a lengthy hold timie he comes back and says "ok we will have to re-submit it" No kidding... that's what I have been trying to tell him from the beginning. And to top it all of he says " anything else I can help you with?" and I replied back "yes better customer service" he replies back "have a good day" and he hangs up. This is horrendous customer service. It's a joke. I don't know how a business can survive with people like this on their staff. I am def not going back. Disgusting. I am postint the call log so you can see the two first calls I made that went unanswered. I am at work and can't really be on the phone that long to have them correct a mistake that they made. P.S: this is not the first time i have asked them to correct my insurance ID on file. They keep billing it to the incorrect one and I keep on calling every time I go to visit for them to bill it to the correct ID. Every visit to their offices requires a call from me to them to correct the billing. Unbelievable.

Worst office staff! Too bad Dr. Valentine seems to be a great neurologist when I met him. But I can't deal with incompetent staff!

I also thought it would be good to have an "in" just in case. Unfortunately, my experience didn't go well. To be honest, I have a fear of going to doctors and avoid it as much as possible. I arrived early for my appointment as instructed. The staff at the front desk were courteous and professional. About 10 minutes before my scheduled time a nurse escorted me to the room and took my vitals. When she was done, she said the doctor would be in shortly. 35 minutes later - no doctor. The room was cold, my fingers were numb, and I had to get back to work so I walked over to the front desk and told them I was leaving. The next day I received a call asking me if I wanted to reschedule. I said no because I was afraid the doctor would be a no show again and I would find another doctor. Later that day I received another call asking me the same thing, and I gave the same answer. This time the scheduler told me there were two other doctors in the network at the same location and she could book me an appointment with one of them. Unfortunately, the soonest appointment isn't until the end of July but she said she would also put me on the wait list. I appreciate that she went the extra mile to help me. Hopefully, I'll have better luck on my next visit. *Private parking lot.

I've never been to a chemo facility before. You expect something sterile or clinical, but City of Hope South Pasadena is different. It's human. It's kind. The people here don't just clock in -- they show up. From the front desk to the nurses to the volunteers offering water and candy, everyone treated my friend with dignity and genuine care. We were there about four hours, and in that time, I saw more quiet heroism than most people see in a lifetime. Nurses moving with precision and grace, comforting patients like family. No chaos, no coldness -- just empathy and skill in perfect balance. They even offered me water and candy while I waited -- a small gesture, but it meant the world. It reminded me that while medicine keeps people alive, kindness makes it bearable. Life is short. Sitting here makes you realize how fragile it all is -- and how strong people can be in the face of something so heavy. To the staff here: you are heroes. To anyone reading this -- hug your loved ones, laugh more, and don't take a single day for granted. City of Hope South Pasadena isn't just a medical facility -- it's a place where hope has a heartbeat. The care is professional, the staff are angels in scrubs, and the compassion is real. If your loved one ever needs treatment, know they'll be in good hands here.

He was a little abrupt to point out what I was experiencing was not in line with the disease I was concerned about. I then pointed out that the best way to get my questions answered was to go to the doctor and that my one rule with my health anxiety is "If you can't trust the doctor, your anxiety will consume you." After I mentioned that, he asked me questions and performed the exams I was hoping. He then told me to save my money as more testing would prove that I was fine. Definitely a straight shooter, and not for the faint of heart. Knows what he's talking about though and was comforting once I broke through the shell. Also the staff were incredible. I called and asked if there were any cancellations and they said they'd call me back after they did all their follow ups. THEY ACTUALLY CALLED and got me in a week earlier. So many specialists are really impacted and hard to meet with. I'm so thankful for the staff.

I am extremely disappointed with the way my mother's appointment was handled by this office…read more My mom is an established patient of Dr. Philip Girard and had a follow-up neurology appointment scheduled for today at 11:00 AM. At 9:36 AM just over an hour before her appointment, we received a call informing us that the appointment was being canceled because Dr. Girard was no longer accepting patients. At that point, an Uber was already scheduled to pick up my mom because it takes approximately an hour to get to the office. I had also rearranged my own appointments and schedule so I could accompany her to her medical appointment. I immediately told the staff that I needed to cancel the Uber and would call back to reschedule. When I called back, I was then told that Dr. Girard had already retired. My biggest concern is not simply that the doctor retired, but that an established patient with a scheduled follow-up appointment was not notified until less than two hours before the appointment. When I asked why we weren't informed sooner, the only response I received was a brief "sorry." There was no explanation, acknowledgment of the inconvenience, or effort to help with the transition to another neurologist. Medical appointments require planning, especially for older patients who may need transportation and family assistance. Patients deserve timely communication when there are changes to their care or their physician's availability. I understand that doctors retire and circumstances change, but the way this was communicated or rather, not communicated was extremely frustrating and disappointing. A simple phone call ahead of time could have saved my mom and our family a lot of unnecessary stress and inconvenience.

They are very difficult to get on the phone, and they stopped paying their answering service. So any time they didn't pick my calls (most of the time) I was unable to leave a message with anyone. I eventually had to go into the office myself to talk with the staff directly. They referred me to a specialist, told me they would send my clinical notes to that specialist, and then didn't do that. And when I was actually able to reach them on the phone, they said "they don't proactively send clinical notes" - even when they referred me to someone else! Then, they told me they sent the notes, but the destination (USC) never got it, despite multiple attempts. Again, this was the doctor THEY referred me to - and they didn't send my clinical notes without asking, and were unable to send them even when asked. What a nightmare. Avoid.
