I rented the picnic shelter for the day for a birthday party and it was only $40. That is much cheaper than other parks in the area. The picnic tables are a little worn but it's a nice size area. And the picnic shelter is right next to the bathroom and play area. It's in a really convenient spot. I was a little worried about traffic sounds. You can hear if a car is noisy but you don't really hear just the normal traffic. It is a nice, pleasant area.

When my mom and I visited the John Bush Play Area in mid-September 2020 the playground was taped…read moreoff and a sign was posted saying the play area would remain closed until Phase 3 of re-opening following the COVID-19 outbreak. The playground is very nice, boasting a wood chip floor and containing unique play structures for children resembling a cross between a watchtower and a tree house with a slide attached. The play area is easily accessible via foot, vehicle, or other road-traversable means. A bike rack is located on the side of the play area closest to the Town of Woodway Town Hall. There are both swings for very little ones and ones big enough for adults. Nice if you want to swing next to your young one, or on your own, and are an adult. A picnic table on a grassy patch is located between the wood chip-floored play area and the road. Overall a very beautiful small play area tucked away in the tall trees of Woodway.

There are very few playgrounds that are correctly designed for all kids with different needs. Wood…read morechips are not exactly the best material, so this playground left me in awe. It has ramps everywhere giving chance to children all ages and all needs to have fun. It is big enough so kids can run around keeping the distance (you know.... COVID times) Not every kid can use a regular swing, it takes a lot of core strength to use one, so Meadow's playground has a couple of swings with full seat (see pictures, red swings ) This place is a hidden gem. There's also a covered picnic area in case it's raining or too sunny. Oh! And the best part: Plenty of parking spots!

Cottage Lake Park is a neighborhood gem type of park. It isn't BIG, so it isn't worth a drive just…read moreto see it. But if you are nearby, stopping by for a stroll is recommended. On the park's property are also several sponsored YMCA activities, but those were closed during my visit. The parking lot at the NW corner is reasonably sized. We easily found parking. We later found another lot on the SE corner, but it was blocked. Entering the park, we see a picnic area adjacent to the sports court. The sports court is a single space usable for basketball and tennis. Walking further, we find the dock to the lake. The water is murky with a few ducks. There weren't any motor boats on the lake, which made the lake feel serene. The lack of water movement also yielded some fantastic reflection photos. During the later hours, we saw several men setting up their equipment to fish. A sizable playground is great for the kids. A short trail walk led to a second picnic area. The trail is a short loop walk with basic trees and wild growth. The walk is very well maintained and paved, even if not spectacular. The only "hazards" are tiny, speedy humans on bikes/trikes and yippee dogs claiming their territory. They added some excitement to a short stroll.

The park is perfectly placed and laid out for events. Lot's of seating in the sun and shade, trail access, decent mix of shade cover and open sunny areas, plus it feels really safe. The trail that extends through this park is one of my faves. It is wide, flat, and gorgeous. I usually walk from here to where the Hollywood Hills wineries are, then back. Perfect flat walk for people with strollers, dogs, etc. The parking is limited- only about 15 spots. The baseball fields across the street aren't much better. I usually try to find parking at Woodin Creek or, if I have to, pay for the Schoolhouse District parking. A magical oasis in the middle of our sweet suburb!

We visited Wilmot Gateway Park with my kids for the first time today. The park offers a playground,…read moreopen play area, and connects to the Sammamish River Trail along the Sammamish River. The playground is great for kids aged 4-14. My little daredevil gave me a heart-stopping moment on the spinning climber, but thankfully she managed to hold on and avoid scraping her knee. Her sisters were beaming with joy, making it a fun-filled afternoon for all! A heads up: parking might fill up quickly, so plan accordingly. We actually took the local bus, which worked out great, so there's a convenient public transportation option available. The park borders the Sammamish River trail and offers a lovely view of Lake Sammamish from the walking trails. I recommend bringing a blanket or camping chairs - there's plenty of grassy space around the play area.

On our way back from Mt. Rainier we visited West Fenwick Park, to give our toddlers a break from…read morethe drive, and they loved it! ... This was a super nice park and was perfect for young children and slightly older ones too. The play…read morestructures were big and had a large variety of things, slides, climbing, spinning, ropes, etc. The one for the slightly older kids with the steepest slides had beans puke all over it (not sure how long it had been there), which was super gross, but the park service truck came while we were there and power hosed the thing down. Our toddlers had a great time climbing on the blocks, enjoying the slightly shorter and less steep toddler friendly slides, and the bucket swings.

This lovely little playground at the north end of camano island is a complete child magnet.
