This is a beautiful cemetery. Across the narrow road from the Snake River Canyon Military Cemetery, this West End cemetery is an unusual reminder of connections and everyone being the sum of many parts. Large trees provide shade to the visitors. It has a peaceful bucolic setting. It's not until you notice the miliary flags near the entrance that you realize it's a mix of military and civilian. The grounds are immaculately kept. What makes this an unusual cemetery are the large white wooden crosses that are placed near the traditional gravestones and that denote the person was a member of the military. Sometimes the families noted the military service on the gravestone, others opted to have a government-issued marker placed next to the common stone marker. The connection and the reminders then become evident. What one might think of as a brother, sister, mother, father, etc. was more than that at some point. It is hard enough to lose a loved one but then having the cemetery bury them in the wrong plot and refusing to place them in the right plot is devastating! Ron the man who rums the cemetery is the most dishonest man. His unprofessional behavior and threatening manner towards my family about the situation made it that much worse. read more
