The ER staff who were on the night I was admitted were attentive, informative and kind. I required…read morean ultrasound and needed to come back the next morning for it. No issues there either. They told me to go back to emerg to wait for the results which could take an hour to process. BUT - The ER doctor who was on rotation that morning? He was rude and dismissive. This is the 3rd time over several years that I have interacted with him and no matter what I have been in for, his bedside manner has been horrible. I waited over 4 hours for my ultrasound results and ended up missing the day at work as a result. The doctor literally told me that he had received the results hours ago and had been carrying them around but had forgotten about me. If there had been some urgent patients admitted, I would totally have understood, but I saw him joking and telling stories with front desk staff on several occasions throughout my wait time. He didn't even apologize and actually laughed about it. I was so stunned by his behaviour that I just left, but I wish I would have spoken to someone about his treatment.

hi I was at the Owen Sound hospital from Nov 4-11. After…read moremy recent travels was down with severe body ache high fever and alarming dip in my platelets I was very happy with the care and attention Dr Besek and his team provided. I am thank ful to Dr Sandhu who paid a surprise visit and examined me thoroughly to make sure there was no internal bleeding . Nurses in their yellow overall were very sincere and thorough. Had to give it 1 star unfortunately.....Daughter was in re a UTI which was diagnosed 2 days…read moreprior...was also told if the antibiotic didn't help to return to clinic...clinic was closed on Sunday so to avoid RVH went to Soldiers....wasn't allowed in the room during assessment on my daughter who also has a chronic disease but was there for the UTI....waited 4 hours..out of the room twice.....never saw the doctor or her nurse but was told on 2 occasions that she was on break and then on lunch....Dr. told her blood work was good...higher white blood cell count but no UTI and you're going to be released...2 nurses came in and told her the same right after vomiting and commented that she had been to Soldiers numerous times.....she had never been there....nurse got her information from RVH and then some.....started telling her she shouldn't be there go to RVH or Toronto because of her chronic illness which was not the point of the visit but she wouldn't stop talking over me.....basically started removing the IV and walked out of the room with her crony....feeling quite proud of herself. Its amazing what the College of Nurses accepts today and don't give me reasons like overworked and budget cuts....you chose this career path so suck it up and if you are so miserable doing it stop making other people miserable and just leave. It was just as disgusting as going to RVH/Barrie...word will get around....and by the way......she did have a UTI and all that needed doing was changing the antibiotic.....Morons..Keep it up you're right on par with RVH...
