The good: Very helpful staff. Provided excellent map and directions, and helped us plan a route for the time period we would be there. The Trek 520s were a very nice bike for what we were doing. Water proof panniers for our gear was a nice free bonus. Lodging selections were perfect and they were flexible with our preferences. Our transport to the starting point was great. The not so good: One of bikes suffered a front brake mechanical leaving us to unhook the front brake and complete most of the ride without a front brake. Not really the fault of West Ireland Cycling, as it checked out fine before we left. The staff did follow up with us and make every effort to accommodate us - so this really isn't that bad or their fault. Overall, we would use WIC over and over again. read more

Great service!! My husband and I are in Galway at the moment with our 2yo son and wanted to spend an afternoon cycling around the city. I emailed the shop a few weeks back to ask about availability and John promptly responded and was so helpful! We made it to the shop today and John had two bikes and a child seat waiting for us. He helped us find a nice route to ride and we had a great time. The shop is a really quick walk from Eyre Square too. I would definitely recommend renting bikes from there during your stay in Galway! read more

Rented a high quality touring bike for the day and was given several riding options. Took the 60 mile route and had a great ride through pristine hills and alongside lakes and the ocean. Because i started late, Liam even came back to the shop when I arrived to receive the bike after normal closing time. Excellent advice, equipment, and service with a friendly and knowledgeable team. He has lots of equipment for rent and arranges cycle tours too. I am sooo tempted to do a cycle vacation now. read more

Went on a 5-night biking tour of Western Ireland and had an amazing time. West Ireland Cycling made everything a breeze. They were really accommodating in making a shortened itinerary for us (than the one generally offered on their website), even including special requests of places we wanted to stay. The routes they provided were breathtaking, as were all the detours they suggested we take. It made our biking trip so relaxing to only have to carry what we needed for the day and know our bags would be waiting for us at the next b&b. All of the b&bs that they picked our were excellent - friendly hosts, comfortable sleeping arrangements. They provided the perfect combination of guidance and help, while still allowing us to make the trip what we wanted it to be (routes with different distances between cities, telling us about various detours we could take, etc.). Would gladly take this tour again - one of the best vacations we've ever had! Definitely going to do more biking tours in the future! read more
