Today my boyfriend and I stopped in after checking out the nearby comic store. I was looking for coffee, but most creameries don't have coffee so my hopes weren't high... but I was proven wrong!!!! They had drip coffee, espresso coffee, iced or hot. I ended up getting coffee with ice cream in it!!! So yummy :) I was able to try as many flavors as I desired without frustration which is honestly so pleasing. Trying flavors was encouraged!!! My boyfriend got a Shaken egg nog ice cream thing (called a Jerk i think) which was delicious! You also get to keep the jar. Pretty interesting history behind the term "Jerk" when it comes to soda bars. The owner gave us a history lesson it was great. Service was 11/10, Ice cream was 11/10, it was so so clean, and the whole place was a vibe. It's a great place to take your family and go with friends. We had a nice time at the West Orange Creamery recently. I wrestled with giving a higher rating but I couldn't give it 4-5 stars for two main reasons. The first was that if a place is called a "creamery" I'm immediately getting excited and thinking that they make their own ice cream and I'm gonna see some cows. But they just sold Hersheys ice cream which was tasty, but not original. Second, I'm still salty as I got considerably less ice cream than my friends due to differences in who was scooping, and feeling cheated over ice cream is never a good feeling. Otherwise, the place was clean, and I really appreciated the 1950's soda fountain vibe that they we're going for. There was tons of seating, and the milkshakes were enormous which is fun. So if you're looking for Hershey's ice cream, but a variety of flavors, West Orange Creamery may be for you. read more

This place is a HIDDEN GEM. We got the Nana's Love sundae but substituted with the coconut almond chocolate ice cream and it was amazing. The rum cake is incredible and I still think about it often. So good!! Love this shop in the Ocoee area. They are in a small strip mall with a few other shops and a theater so parking does get busy, but they have a large back lot for cares as well. Once inside it has a warm and inviting feeling, very much a throw back vibe to soda fountain days. I'm a classics fan so I go for chocolate here and it's super tasty. They also do shakes and sundaes! Check out there weekly specials on the board for rotating flavor options. Staff is always friendly and moves the line along if it builds up. Hey I really love ice cream. In college I worked at the DQ and I am not above eating ice cream for breakfast if the fancy strikes. So since I am somewhat of an ice cream aficionado - why the heck have I not been to West Orange Creamery? It is fantastic and I probably would drive miles for the cake they sell. This is not like the ice cream you just scoop. They have soda jerks which are kind of like a bartenders that makes a craft cocktail. This place has fine ingredients. Normally there is one or two flavors I am vaguely interested in but this place has three flavors that made me wish I had a bigger stomach. I got the brown sugar bourbon ice cream with a toasted marshmallow on top. In one word it was super. I happened to get a little sample of their cakes. I also bought one that was about 7 or 8 inches in diameter and was excited to taste the vanilla flavor. I gave my husband the small sample cake and set the other one on the counter. I came out later and there was just a small slice left. I was kinda of upset but when I tasted the cake and understood there was no stopping because I inhaled that slice. So to summarize I cannot say which I liked better the cake or the ice cream. Next time I plan to order both. Adding West Orange Creamery as one of my go to places and certainly the best ice cream in the Orlando area. read more

They make their waffle cones and waffle bowls fresh with a waffle maker and it helps melt the ice cream ever so nicely. This is our favorite place for sweets and treats in the area!! My personal favorite is the Nana's Love, and when I add in pretzel chunks, it takes it up a whole new level with just the right amount of salty and sweet. The epic shakes are SOOOO epic!! We got the Wish today, with that being a favorite of my 6 year old. He made a mess but it was worth it. Our 15 year old enjoyed the Crumble Monster, which comes with some amazing cookies to make her full and happy. My Brother-in-law recommended West Orange Creamery (WOC), so we decided to get a treat after some play time at the park. WOC is such a cute little shop that serves Hershey's Ice Cream and a variety of different treats for all ages. - Parking - Center lot. - Vibe - It has a neighborhood feel with a cute feature wall with a heart made of string lights which catches your attention as soon as you walk in. It has high ceilings and quite spacious for an ice cream shop. There is some bar top seating as well as tables and chairs throughout the shop. A variety of board games can be found in their cupboard as well as the large textile checkers board with jumbo checkers pieces on some of the tables. They also have small retail corner with lots of cute t-shirts and other knick knacks. There are a lot of vintage photos throughout the shop as well as a wall dedicated to the NY Yankees. - TLC - On our visit, it seemed like a mother-daughter duo and they were as sweet as their treats ;). We were a party of 7, of all ages and they took great care of us and made some great recommendations. - Eats / Refreshments - They have a great variety of treats from the regular scoops of ice cream to special sundaes. They also have classic milkshakes as well as "special" milkshakes. I asked if they were the over-the-top, trendy milkshakes that are usually garnished with a slice of cake, a cookie and every topping under the sun. The answer was no and their special milkshakes are the ingredients listed are what is blended in the milkshake. However, the lady informed me that they have special events where they do those crazy milkshakes four times a year, so you'll have to stay tuned to their social media channels to keep-up-to-date on those events. They also offer other things like Egg Cream, which is supposedly a NY thing, but it didn't appeal to me. Seltzer water and cream? No thanks, I'll pass. What I thought was pretty neat though, was that they served frozen sangrias that are blended with your choice of sorbet and I thought that was a nice offering for people like my husband's aunt, who ordered exactly that and loved it. Cookies 'N Cream Milkshake - great consistency and was topped with whipped cream and a maraschino cherry. Rum Cake Sundae - The base was ice cream with Rum cake, caramel sauce with whipped cream. It was pretty good. - Kiddos - They each got a Kids' scoop of Superman and Cookies N' Cream topped with gummy bears. Okay... I'm obsessed! As soon as I saw this place on Yelp, I knew I had to try it. I'm a huge milkshake enthusiast, and it's always been my personal dream to own an old fashioned soda fountain like this one, so I made plans right away to visit this place ASAP, and it did not disappoint! The outside of the place (located in a very nondescript strip mall) is not at all where you would expect to find a business like this, so it really is a hidden gem. The inside is spectacular! The decorations are detailed and great, from the old stand up piano to the cute red and white star-patterned cloth on the chairs. There is a great variety of flavors of ice cream, and the "soda jerk" who was working when we visited was super friendly and offered us samples of whatever we wanted to try. When we first arrived to the location, it was dead, and I was worried that their somewhat inconspicuous location was hurting their business. Then I realized it was around dinner time on a Wednesday, and after a little while of hanging out there I was happy to see more and more people trickling in--but not so many to be loud and annoying! We first got a milkshake (me) and a sundae (my girlfriend) and she went to check out the variety of games available to play (Connect 4, Jenga, a deck of cards, checkers, and Uno). We wound up playing Uno for the hour or so that we sat hanging out and enjoying the location. The milkshake was the perfect consistency. I got it with whipped cream, even though whipped cream can be very hit-or-miss for me, and was very glad I did. Once we were finished with our ice cream, we decided we had to try the soda while we were there... She got a cola, and I was delighted to find that they had sarsaparilla on the menu, my weirdo favorite. Both were so deliciously fresh-tasting, and I can't wait to try more of their sodas next time! It's about 30 minutes from my house, but I fully intend to make this my personal hang-out spot and can't wait to take more of my friends here! There's actually a movie theater located right behind the strip mall this is located in, so I think it would be a great place to grab an ice cream after a movie. 5 Stars because HOMEMADE RUM CAKE. Oh, and ice cream. But also, HOMEMADE RUM CAKE. So, here's the thing. I'm not much of an ice cream person normally... I know. I'm a monster. But this review is primarily about the fabulous staff and Nana's incredible rum cakes. They come in multiple sizes (all bundt-shaped, except around Valentine's day, when they're heart bundts) and flavors (vanilla, chocolate, walnut, etc.), and are deliciously boozy. They're homemade by the owner's mother-in-law and when they run out, they run out. Luckily, they have plenty of full sized cakes in the fridge at the front of the shop, but the smaller variety are perfect for sharing with a partner. Besides that, the staff is always ready to give you tastes and recommendations and the shop is much bigger inside than you'd imagine from the exterior.
