I'd been meaning to go to West Street Cafe for a while before I eventually made it there. Located at the foot of a office building with large white square umbrellas and black table and chairs outside it looked like a pretty nice cafe. When I did go in I was a bit surprised to see it looks more like a cafeteria than a restaurant. Decor aside the food was fresh and healthy looking. I went with a medium take away Caesar salad with grilled chicken ($8.50). It was nice enough but the chicken was a bit over cooked.
They don't have gluten free bread but they do have gluten free choc chip biscuites and Florentines. Other things of the menu include chicken burgers, big breaky ($9), lasagna, chips with gravy (smelled and looked hot and fresh) and wraps. It's really a sandwich bar. Everything looked just how you'd want it to be - fresh and wholesome.
Service was really quick and the staff (seemed to be a mix of different European countries) were friendly. I'd come here again for a healthy take away sandwich. read more
