As a 100% Disabled Veteran and 20 years in the VA Healthcare system, I've got nothing nice to say about WVU or it's employees. Extremely rude, heartless, unwilling to assist, and clearly mis-managed at the highest level. I will now longer be a patient of WVU. This long overdue review is dedicated to my best friend's brother in law that passed away November 20th, 2019, and his pregnant wife. Both are WVU alums and were college sweethearts. The reason I mentioned all this is to say that they are apart of my West Virginia tribe. We, in additional to several other special individuals, would tailgate and attend a few football games together. WVU is one of the most friendliest school communities, and most everyone truly radiates positive energy. I think Morgantown was voted friendliest city in the USA at one point (don't quote me though). The facilities are beautiful and the campus is vast. Its a large school but I truly feel like there's a place for everyone and anyone to find their niche. The athletic games readily bring everyone together, and the university offers a variety of studies and programs. Overall, Highly recommend becoming a mountaineer! read more

Love this University! I have a lot of history with this University, between classes, my daddy doing a lot of the construction here in the 60s and 70s and my grandson spending 9 months of his life in the hospital here when he was born...WVU is like one of my many second homes. I wish my daughter or son had went here but they opted not too. My niece did go here for about 18 months I have always had happy experiences here, and made great memories, eating wonderful food, spending time with great friends, walking around the campus and enjoying the architecture. Brings back so many memories of my youth!!! Definitely some ups and downs here, definitely some tears of joy, happiness and upset times too..but definitely worth it all....oh YOUTH@@@@!!!! read more

I'm extremely happy about the experience that my son is getting at WVU. The support from the president and teachers is absolutely felt by my child and our family. The dorms are clean and organized. It's really great to have the lunch room downstairs for the freshman. My son doesn't have to leave his "home" to get a meal. I like the idea that it is a freshman dorm and new students can have the same experiences. The PRT is genius. Kids can take a quick train ride anywhere on campus. The Mountain busses take the students to shopping locations all across campus. I do think that the town can use some improvements. The road conditions and building need some love. The school makes so much money. They should invest a little in their town! read more

I am from India and West Virginia is my first home in USA. I am living in this country for nearly 6 years now and in this period, I have stayed, lived in several places but WVU remains closest to my heart and certainly is the best among the places I have been to. I did my Masters here during 2002-2004 and I loved everything that WVU had to offer. This is one of the best party schools and Friday's nights are really crazy over here. Mountain lair was the place to be on a weekend but gradually over the years the scenario has changed. They are not organizing fun events like they used to anymore. But still, it is the best university among the one's in this region. What I liked most about the university was the location. The location is cut-off from the normal city life and the entire town is inhabited by either students or staff who work at the university. PRT (Personal Rapid Transit) is probably the weirdest/unique ways of transportations that I had ever seen and WVU is the only university where you can find it. I loved riding in PRT's whenever I felt bored and they are free to the full time students. You will find lot of international students (Indians, Chinese in particular) over here and most them belong to the engg department. read more

Let's Go Mountaineers!! Country Roads, take me home... to the place... I belong... WEST VIRGINIA! My heart belongs with my alma mater and I wish I could get out of NJ more often to visit. Went 2 weeks ago for a football game and ended up also going to a women's soccer game and men's basketball game. Wow things have changed for women's soccer!! I played there many moons ago and it is so awesome to see how the program has grown and how far it's come. Women's soccer won the Big East championships the weekend we were there. We watched the semi-finals and it was a blast. I love Morgantown and I love WVU even though it nearly kicked my ass freshman year. I almost failed out but got my stuff together and was able to enjoy 4 more years in Morgantown, which was one of the best experiences of my life. Yes, it's a party school, and I think WVU earns the saying "only the strong survive" more than NJ because you have to know how to party hard, play hard, and work hard in order to make it through alive. read more

I am a West Virginia resident and I can honestly say I am so happy to have attended West Virginia University. There are a lot of students from Jersey but the overall campus feel is great. There are many programs for students. I majored in public relations in the journalism school. The only thing is WVU needs to improve the parking situation. Also if your a healthy minded person the recreation center will blow your mind away. WVU is in the process of building a new Student Health Center beside the recreation center. This was badly needed. I always hated going to student health just because of the facility it was in (basement of older hospital wing) Overall if your looking at colleges to attend at least go take a visit of WVU. I went to Marshall for a year and transferred to WVU and it was the best decision of my life. read more

My Alma Mater! I am from West Virginia, but originally I went to school in Ohio. I transfered home to WVU, and I enjoyed every minute of it. My department and faculty were top notch, we had a great football team, and Mountaineers really do deserve the #1 party-school image. Ahhhh WVU. I have to say that I really, genuinely loved going to undergrad here. I originally chose WVU for their forensic science program (one of the leading programs in the country). I was a pre-forensics major my freshman year. Unfortunately I was unable to pick my classes first semester so they were chosen for me: Psychology 101, Chemistry 115, Biology 105, Calculus 155, and Orientation. Beause of my SAT scores, I was placed in these classes and I honestly have to say it was overkill. Not only was I reading 4 of the most informationally charged classes, I had the biggest textbooks known to mankind. Plus, coming to WVU from Guatemala.....can anyone say culture shock?! Needless to say, I was completely overwhelmed by my courseload, and found it to be too much for me to handle. I finished freshman year as a forensics pre-major and ended up switching majors to psychology (focusing on forensic psychology). I knew that I loved psychology right of the bat from the beginning of my sophomore year. The rest of my years there were smooth sailing. The psychology department has great resources for interships, jobs, and their program is set up in a way that is foolproof. The assistant who helps you pick your classes makes sure that you're taking the classes you need, and definitely makes sure you're not signed into classes you don't have the pre-requisites for, therefore you don't have any surprises at the beginning of the semester. All of my psychology professors were more than competent and helpful with their students. Office hours were always reasonable and the class sizes were small (usually for the more specific upper level classes of course). WVU is a big school so expect to be in huge 300+ student classes your first year. It's a great way to find "diversity" in West Viginia. I now live in the Bay Area in Northern California so diversity here takes on a whole new meaning. The psychology and Criminology programs definitely gave me the education and preparation I needed to succeed in the workplace from the beginning. Made life-long friends here as well, and I'll always have a special place in my heart for the Mountaineers. Wouldn't trade my undergrad experience for anything in the world. read more

We came to town to see our beloved Longhorns play a Saturday evening football game. We love Morgantown and we stayed at a great B&B out of town. We had a great afternoon tailgating with fellow Longhorns. We were told that because of beer being sold in the stadium that the WVU fans can get rowdy. We like to party so we thought it would be ok. Unfortunately we sat in front of some WVU fans that were cursing and complaining and yelling at every play. An event staff member came down to say there were complaints about the language. It settled down for a while but started up again so we left and finished watching the game in the parking lot. As we were leaving there were WVU fans falling down drunk and one person getting arrested. I didn't see a lot of healthy team spirit but I did see a lot of intoxicated obnoxious fans. I don't think we will be back to see Texas win again but if we do we will tailgate with fun intelligent people with some class and not spend a dime for a game ticket or game beers. read more

I was at the Mexican center due to my great grand mother having surgery. In the end of it all, she passed away... The hospital staff was NOTHING BUT AMAZING! My great grandmother had about 30 family members at her bed side holding hands as she passed. The nurse in charge it seemed was Zach. He was outstanding and his compassion and care towards making sure each person was taken care of. They served us cookies and tea and coffee. If I could find a way to leave an official survey or compliment card to leave for Zach I would. He was in the icu. read more
