I don't think I will ever use Western CPE again. I was referred to them by a fellow preparer and I paid 2.5X more than I had in previous years and it was NOT worth it at all. I had a new Sales guy there and we started in November and he told me that my package was complete for CTEC. I then did those classes and I was short on many points. They should NOT offer a Complete CA Update package that is SHORT...even if by one credit. They only give 4 of the 5 required credits in CA for CTEC. Since CA is regulated by CTEC then a 'Complete Package' should not be named on their website. It is FALSE ADVERTISING and wrong on so many levels WesternCPE SUCKS read more

I've used Western CPE for my continuing education classes for the last few years. The classes are okay. I wish they would get better rates for the hotels. I also think that better locations would be great. They have a lot of conferences in places that are your typical hot spots. I'd love to see a conference in Miami, New York, Oahu, etc. All in all, the classes are your typical CPE classes but they provide a little bit more variety in terms of providing non-technical seminars. I do enjoy those a lot. read more

Poor customer service. Beware of fine print on purchases. Customer service is unwilling to be flexible to resolve issues and as a result they lose long time customers. Thompson Rueters is much better for the money and will be receiving my business from now on. read more

I prepaid for a conference that I was not able to use and asked for a refund. I tried emailing customer service (3 times) and received no response. I called customer service and was told that I could apply the credit to a future conference but not receive a cash refund. I was not able to (nor did I want to) attend a future conference and when I pressed the rep why I couldn't just receive a cash refund, she claimed it was their "policy". This "policy" is not stated on their website or any material provided to me. Now I'm considering small claims court. What a hassle. Do not deal with these people. read more
