Today the campus is spread out around the city with many very modern buildings. There is also a very nice football stadium with all the modern conveniences. Seems to be a very nice school to attend to get a college degree.

I have been attending SKYCTC for the last year and it has been a good experience for me, both in…read morethe quality of the education and the helpfulness of the faculty. I am in their automotive program and working to transfer after I am finished. I have been enjoying the small class size and being able to talk to my teachers and get help where needed without difficulty, as there are plenty of resources available to students for tutoring or one-on-one if you ask. My advisor understands how to help his students succeed, and he helped me work with faculty to get financial aid and class scheduling sorted out to keep me on track. While I did have some paperwork hoops to jump through because of the school system, they helped me get everything sorted out. All in all I have found it to be the best place I could have gone to begin my higher education.

For a higher educational facility, this one really stinks! If you are serious about furthering your…read moreeducation I would go elsewhere. They have a high turn-over rate of instructors. I was flat out lied to when I applied for the RN program. I followed my advisor's instructions to the "T". I was told I would have "no problem" getting accepted. I wasn't accepted and its several months later ... and I still haven't been given an answer why. I have attended 4 other colleges in the past. I have a 3.8 GPA in my Bachelor's degree and a 3.0 in my Master's degree. I took all prereqs. with good grades. I checked at another KCTCS college and they are stunned why I wasn't accepted. Go to Western Kentucky University if you can afford it. It is the best university I ever attended. If you are close enough to attend Somerset Comm College, do it. They got thier act together!
